    Today was a good example of why we need good lawyers for defense. Thank God for Ian’s pro bono dreams.
    We have zero chance because most of us simply don’t have the money to afford this kind of stellar defense with their extensive teams.

    I’m sick again, so not in chat, but loving Runkle’s coverage as always. I’m rewatching his observations of the cross again for lunch. ☺️
    (P.S. Don’t think about it as a discussion about video games. Think of it as the planning for an incredible unique and hugely successful 24-hr fundraiser for sick children. Welcome to Runkle of the Bailey. Where we get Runkle wisdom, Runkle stories, Runklisms, and Runkle love and enjoyment of many things. This is not just a mere legal commentary channel. This is Runkle World.
    We love being here. 💜)

    The fact that people on all sides point at you and say how biased you are against them is kind of proof that you're going with "just the facts" of the case. As the case goes on and more facts are presented, bias may form. That's the point of arguing a case. You can still look at individual points the other side makes and think they are legally sound or proper, even if you don't agree with their premise.

    Just finished the stream (joined late) and I wanted to say that I really appreciate that you said you would rather commission an artist than use AI near the end when someone was talking about a Seal for the channel. AI has such a negative impact on artists, and as an artist (textile/sculptural so a little different, but people now expect things that don’t work due to physics/underestimate the work that goes into large pieces) I’m extra vigilant of basically everything as a result.

    Replay crew - work wouldn’t let me listen today 😪
    I have seen witnesses like her twisted around without this approach. Spiro has stated multiple times that she is accusing him. Her job was to collect evidence. This testimony is still going on and it’s so irrelevant. He could have easily gotten her off track and made his points to get the jury to see his point in like 10% of the time. Also as the tech, wasn’t she the lowest ranking person at the scenes? I think his approach can have an opposite effect on the jury. Morrisey gets criticized for being snippy - but compared to him, she’s a sweetheart. IMHO. NOT a lawyer - I wouldn’t survive LOL but I do know a few and have performed legal research which is why I love this stuff! Just out here asking questions! Love the live stream!

    The Old Bailey. The Central Criminal Court of England and Wales, commonly referred to as the Old Bailey after the street on which it stands, is a criminal court building in central London, one of several that house the Crown Court of England and Wales. The street outside follows the route of the ancient wall around the City of London, which was part of the fortification's bailey, hence the metonymic name.

    That's the Mexican Brown or Harpy Eagle on the seal. It is known as the royal-hawk in Portuguese. The Eagle on a cactus with a snake is the same concept as appears on the Mexican Coat of Arms and is a Aztec myth. However the Mexican image depicts a Golden Eagle. The Harpy Eagle was considered sacred to Quetzalcoatl in Aztec religion. However these days the bird has been eliminated from Mexico.

  • @silikon2
    @silikon2 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I'm not even caring about what different real and fake bullets look like. As far as I'm concerned, him pointing the gun at her was enough.
    There's a reason for the rule "all guns are always loaded". It's because many people have been hurt or killed by guns that "weren't loaded".
    No magic bullet event occurred here. He had his finger on the trigger and pointed the gun at her. Had he obeyed any one of basic gun safety rules, she would be alive.
    If this were the ONLY incident, I would still think he's guilty, but I chalk it up to just making horrible mistakes... but there's endless footage of him playing with the guns, firing them after CUT.
    We're supposed to believe an actor with decades of experience in movies with stunts and firearms wasn't aware that it's dangerous to everyone on set to play with potentially dangerous props after cut? Really?

    • @vega1349
      @vega1349 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As I understand it, the gun was prepped for the shoot. Set members asserted that Baldwin demanded to always rehearse and block with the actual weapon, which should have been secured by the armorer until the actual shot (according to the armorer witness in the Gutierrez case).

      I thought they were simply detailing how he was supposed to draw and shoot when he was surrounded in the church. There would be no need to have any type of cartridge in the cylinder.

    It’s not a hawk. It’s a golden eagle. The flag represents the joint influence of the United States and Mexico on the state.
    The Aztec legend for the founding of Mexico City, and hence of Mexico, is that a prophecy told them that they should settle where they saw a golden eagle on a cactus eating a rattlesnake, and they found that on one of the islands of Lake Tenochitlatan. ( I hope that I spelled that right.)

    This ultimately is a set that was his responsibility. IMO it’s like believing your family is fine and doing well and then finding out they are completely reckless, driving 100mph, or using drugs etc and you were just going along looking the other way. You have to pay attention to groups and situations you are responsible for. If he has any conscience at all he would be feeling the weight of his responsibility and lack thereof.

    In my opinion, although I strongly dislike him and Baldwin handled the weapon negligently, I probably wouldn't consider him criminally responsible.
    The prosecution would have to acknowledge the accident and the defense would have to acknowledge the culpability and THEN, the argument would need to be solely on the point of law, before my mind would be open to find him guilty if I was a juror.
    Playing with a gun is not and should not ever be considered a crime. In my opinion, everything beyond establishing the place, time, and incident has been a complete waste of time.
    As it stands, the difference between Baldwin, the armorer, the prop company, and the AD is that Baldwin is not an expert, nor is it his profession to handle guns and ammunition he is a layperson in that area, either as an actor or a producer, no matter how much experience he has had with firearms.

    I disagree as an average person I wouldn't be distracted by the stuff the defence is raising about the prop house because it says nothing about the pertinent charge. If anything it points out the prosecution's point that you can never trust that there isn't a live round mixed in with the dummies and blanks on a movie set and EVERYONE should be vigilant at all times. I hope the jury isn't distracted by irrelevant shiny objects.

    HE was responsible for the WHOLE SET!!! He was the PRODUCER!! And there were misfires on set before this incident!! He shot after “Cut” he wanted fast charging of firearms without time to check the weapons!! He gave Hannah a DUAL ROLE, half armorer and half proper!! He let the prop personnel hand guns over to actors!!
    It was great listening to your analysis of his performance, I don’t know much about song and music but I still love to hear new takes of old songs. And if that is something that you also appreciate it would be great if you could react to his version of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun ….

    Okay, so here's my problem with Spiro's cross of Poppell, he feels like he's playing games with red herrings. He is asking great questions and it would be effective in HANNA's case. To me, this cross has nothing to do with BALDWIN's case. Where the bullet came from doesn't matter for this defense. It could have materialized from the ether into Baldwin's gun and it would not matter. If I was on the jury, I would really dislike him.

    I give 60% to alec because he was in charge and pushing hana to break the rules. If she was an old hand with 20 years experience and a big name ot her armorer business, she might have fought back and stopped him. But a new business trying to get established and she says no to Alec Baldwin the star and producer? That rough.
    Alec's defense is gonna be 'im an actor, everyone knows i cant be trusted with a pewpew.' Which would work in California or if he wasn't also producing/and directing, so he's ALSO in charge of everything.
