The prosecutor in this case was horrible. She wanted to be famous, and used a poor womans death as an excuse to reach that goal. This case should never been brought to trial to begin with. And when you get caught hiding evidence there`s no way back.

She was so bad that the other prosecutor quit as soon as she found out about the hiding of the evidence. Erlinda Johnson gave an interview with Chris Cuomo where she explained why she quit the case. Erlinda Johnson said she recommended Kari Morrissey drop the charges but she wouldn't.

@@eddiemurphy21 Hey bozo, the job of the actor is to act with a COLD gun. The job of the armorer is to bring a COLD gun to the set. The armorer failed to produce a cold gun. Baldwin expecting to be holding a cold gun, fired and this is how we have this terrible accident. It is NOT the job of an actor to check a gun. How many actors do you know who have gun knowledge? The thing that should have been said is that actors are not expected to check the weapon to make sure that is has blanks or live rounds. That falls to the weapons handler that it is safe for the scene. The weapons handler should also know what kind of ammo they have on set and check every one of them to make sure that it is what the ammo is supposed to be. Baldwin should never have been put under the spot light for this in the first place.

Once the jurors were seated, the judge had no alternative since she couldn't dismiss the jury and have double jeopardy calling for a new jury. She had to dismiss the charges. That’s why judges always ask both sides if they are ready for trial.

I dont think they should have finished and released the movie.
Also, as just a European "consumer" of Hollywood, I don't understand why they use real weapons in the industry at all. Especially today with realistic digital imaging and CGI. It's not the first time someone has died on set through a gun. Every few years -and let it be decades- or so you hear about another actor dying by a shot would on set. It is unterly unnecessary. They are in the business of illusion. It is acting, it is play! Why not ban real weapons from sets through safety laws? There are laws around stunts around working hours, everything is made into a fake prop to either hurt noone, be easier to lift or move, or just to not make the unwanted sounds the real thing would make. There are fake cigarettes so people dont jave to actually smoke. But guns "NEED" to be real?! To heighten the exitement? The thrill for the actors and the viewer?! Well, it,s only a fee people over a few decades that have dies. So what's the big deal, right? There should absolutely be laws against it for a safe working environment for actors and crew. None should have to die a prevemtable death while just filming en entertainment piece. No family should have to lose their daughter, son, mother, father, sibling over this.

They should never have brought charges in the first place. The guilty party responsible is in prison I* am an actor / stunt performer, former military for over 20 years I have worked with weapons on movie sets. I am a small weapons expert, even with all my experience I have never been allowed to check, load or unload a weapon on a a set, ONLY the armorer can do that. The only time I load or unload a weapon is when it is called for the character to do it on camera. Then I will examine and shake to verify they are dummy rounds. I have worked on sets with Alec, he is a first class ahole. If I thought he was guilty I would be leading the charge to convict. I had an long argument with that more@@@ John Schneider when he went on camera with a brand new single action saying how it can never fire without pulling the trigger. They can, will, and have. Ruger was sued over the Blackhawk singel action for that very thing, people loaded them, jolted and tehy fired without the trigger being pulled.. In the day there was a thing called the cowboy load, they left the hammer on an empty cylinder "so I won't shoot my knee off". I also compete cowboy fast draw, with singel action the trigger and the hammer meet and lock, with high use the metal wears down, and they SLIP off without the trigger being pulled. I carry spare hammers, triggers, and springs because in high use competition they fail all the time. Schneider is full of it. Alec is innocent .......... of this crime at least

Morrisey made a major mistake by taking the stand, I've never seen anything so ludicrous. Lets cut to the chase, the reason Baldwin has got off is on a technicality (investigator and prosecution bungling) ,not because he is innocent. That's the same reason Jackson and OJ got off. Its is also because Baldwin had smart lawyers and endless resources. This trial will cost Baldwin millions in lawyer fees something Reed didnt have (she only had a public defender) but Reed will also benefit from what Baldwins lawyer have exposed during Baldwins trial when she appeals. What this shows if you have money you get a different type of justice in the US. You have to ask yourself why didnt Reed's lawyers identify the prosecution and investigators mistakes that Baldwins have? Police and investigators invariably make mistakes and you stand a good chance of exposing these mistakes during a trial if you have enough time with smart lawyers and endless resources. There will now not be any justice for Alayna family due to prosecution and criminal investigator bungling, they should all hold their heads in shame.

Not a bungling, a cover up. Sheriff had a responsibility to properly document and test, but did not. Prosecutors had an obligation to ensure all evidence was turned over to the defense, but did not. It was not a mistake, but misconduct.

Movie safety is on armorer. Actors are not supposed to do anything outside of script. If they do, they would be considered negligent due to violating previous checks.

Wow look at that amazing acting from baldwin. He is so believable. Its amazing what bribes can do to the people that handle evidence. Now he can go back to being a really nice guy. Helenas father must be so happy to know that the killer of his little girls gets to walk away Scott free.

Bribes are not likely. This is about law enforcement and DA misconduct. They would not throw away their careers in disgrace. If judge did not dismiss, ALEC could easily appeal since this is now public.
