Crazy how these two killing a rapist got life and execution and then people who traffic little girls and women get 2 years AT MOST. I swear the world’s judicial systems are honestly ridiculous.
I can’t imagine doing the right thing and your life is torn away at 18
The more I want a bear. Men hate us from time memorial few men are good but majority are monsters
There is no justice system, only a legal system 💯

The fact that the chained woman had so many sons makes me think that she also might have given birth to many more daughters who were not wanted; maybe sold off, or terminated at birth.
I didn't even think about that. 8 sons in a row is insane

I actually kept on thinking about this when the story first came out. I guess I’m not the only one. At that time, I was so disgusted about the possibility that I actually puke. No joke.
So let me get this straight, trafficking, r*ping and keeping a woman chained up for years while having a load of kids against her will only deserves a slap on the wrist but killing a R*PIST gets the death penalty…. this world disgusts me.

The person who said not to call the police after finding that woman in that state needs to be on a list. There’s no excuse for the state that woman was in.
You mean the man who said not to, think that's important here.

The only thing I can hope is maybe he was threatened by the county to say that, if not it’s crazy
china has no human rights like the west does
Uhm... there was "no love from the mother" bc she wasn't allowed to give them love... how disgusting ppl are to even say anything blaming her!
Insane how a woman can literally be chained up and some incels will still blame her... I really hope they're just trolling to get reactions out of people
Even if she could, can you imagine the trauma of caring for the children you were raped into producing? Those kids could be lovely af but she was forced to make them and deliver them in awful conditions, I doubt she was able to bond with them in a healthy, loving way.
Because china doesn’t care about women, that what happened when you give men power. Return to nature.
@@anonimus8375even though they were concerned through extreme violence, mother/child bonding is still likely. Mother bonds with child during pregnancy as she feels the life growing, most times she doesn’t view it as evil but as HER baby and HER’S alone. (According to research studies.)

Do they really think one of her kids was going to take care of her when she gets old??? She was chained up in a shed their whole lives and treated like a family breeder. They wouldn't even know NOT to treat her like a farm pig.
it almost makes me nauseous thinking how someone could be forced to live a significant chunk of their life treated as less than human, I cant imagine how much damage that did on her mental and physical health. When its just men in power holding each other accountable, men like that are bound to start popping up at one point. this should be taken as a warning to other countries. Question is if they would even accept her at least as their boological mother. Do they have any connection to her? If not it wouldn't be the kids fault. They are completely innocent.
I mean, the first man that discovered her helped the cover up in the end and clearly only used her for content. All the chinese goverment men also tried hard to cover it up and only until the bad press got too awful for the did they do anything. @@gingerlee726
There's a side story about the chained woman. When the situation was exposed, there are many feminists who literally tried to visit the woman and post updates online. But local government locked down the village, no visitors were allowed. When one of the feminists refused to leave and posted the situation of locking down, they arrested her. Since she didn't break any laws, she was released soon but arrest again because they suspect she must be funded by some 'foreign forces' to care about the women 'this much'. She kept posting and this went on a few times and she finally totally disappeared online. She was finally secretly released earlier this year. She name is '乌衣'.
Wait, is feminism allowed in China?

Can you imagine growing up as a child having your own mother chained up in the shed?
And some people online have the audacity to argue that the children are worse off when their mother who was chained up in the shed left from being chained in the freaking shed. Logic 💯
Actually, I don't think the kids will be traumatized because of that. They definitely will be traumatize after all of this was revealed to the public.
You have to understand that this was their normal. Everyone including neighbors and authority knew about this and doing nothing. So, for them, this probably normal. They probably confused why their father suddenly villainized by netizen.
However, in my opinion, all of this is necessary. Imagine they grow up thinking all of this was allowed and they repeating the same thing. If they need to be traumatized to learn that this is wrong, so be it. Let just hope the children will grow up to be better person than their father and their grandparent.
The kids won't be traumatized, they even learn from their father. I saw an Indian story where father did this , his 3 sons are adults but they never saved their mom from the washroom than she was being kept.
Those sons he has will think it's okay to treat a woman that way when they grow up and that's scary
This is prob a norm to the kids now. If no one teaches them it’s wrong, then it’s how the world should be to them
@@Nai7547 sooo ... they grew up defending a criminal. Aren't they criminals themselves?>>> Like ok you grew up , now. You know it's wrong. Why don't you do anything about your mother's situation???? Reason: criminals let to raise children like this raise other criminals and traumatise other people in return. And fuck this mentality of one's suffering is less than another's! The mom has rights too. The children were not the ones tortured, the mother was! They can get over, the mother can't!!!
I'm a survivor of being held hostage for a year and 6 months and I had the same backlash happen with my abusers accusing me during court (when I was fighting for custody of my son) telling the court that the only reason i was hit or hurt in any way was because they needed to calm me down from acting insane. Which yes, I did go insane during that time period, rightfully so. Thankfully I won full custody of my son with 0 contact from that family because the court didn't buy any of their bs. It's a very scary thing to go through and I'm still not "over it" after 4 years of being free. It will live with me forever. But it breaks my heart more that there are people who will never escape their situations
Wow
From the bottom of my heart: All the best to you and you son. I am soooooo glad you have full custody with zero contact. Congrats to you for having the strength to fight it through.
@@ChichimaDraws this is a comment, why would they cover every single detail..? they're telling their story, and they don't owe you any further explanations. it's common sense to give a victim respect and not push them into revealing any more than they want to reveal. asking for more details can be the equivilent to making a victim relive their trauma. curiosity isn't an excuse for this, stop being noisy, be respectful, and leave them alone.

First story: really exposes the dark side of humanity, ignorance of the bystanders is equally as evil, and how actions were only taken with the power of the people (netizens).
Second story: In my perspective, the last words between the couple really showed how much they cared for each other. Especially when he letting her know not to blame herself before the penalty. That gives her a lot of relief and closure. I see nothing but true love with a tragic ending.

@@kltil5082 We are equally capable of mistreating each other, even in a society where male aggression is more common. When we dont stand up for each other and instead turn on each other to gain advantage in these types of societies, we inadvertently allow men to continually get away with their misbehavior. Women are just as capable of being the abusers in these situations
Yes! As a Chinese girl we were always raised to be aware of abductions… it’s just scary what could happen to you… there was one story of this university student from Shanghai - very smart, proficient in English and a promising young woman. One day, she was just gone. They next time they found her was in a village where she couldn’t even talk properly.
When was this? Is it the same still? I heard the story of the woman in the first story and I just want a happy ending for her. And all like her.
The fact that China does nothing about this trend and just tells women to watch out for dangerous men is disturbing… Like it puts the blame on women for getting caught in the first place. There’s no way it isn’t a little intentional, I’m sure plenty of government officials are in on the trend as well. Do you still live there?
I think I heard about her. Was she the one who was wrapped in a blanket so she couldn't move that way her legs would atrophy and she couldn't run away? Why aren't the police storming these farm areas and checking for missing women now that we are positive a lot of them are there?
It's hard yk I mean they must have laws but china is so big and not every place is with CCTV, there are villages in mountains and high altitude where it's easy to run these rings. It's just more hard than other countries to find out these organised crimes. @@Samookely

39:30 It reminded me of October 2nd, 1968 in Mexico. I saw the story of the chained woman briefly a few months ago. I don’t remember finding out what happened to her, so I’m glad you posted this. I felt so bad for her. The mental illness talk really upset me. I have a couple mental illnesses myself. Yes it can be passed on to the children but it doesn’t make the mother or the children any less human and in need of help. I cannot imagine what she’s gone through. I hope they’re all doing okay now.
Ps the “hey guys, calm your tits” was so unexpected and such a tonal shift I choked on my drink cause I was laughing too hard. lol.
With story one, if I start to overthink it, I question how many people actually have someone chained up somewhere? So many I may not even realize.
Even worse, what if the chain up person is the least of the horrors you encounter when you learn of this surprising news...
Natasha Kampusch, Elisabeth Fritzl, Amanda Berry, Gina Dejesus, Michelle Knight, Elizabeth Smart, Jaycee Dugard, Jaymee Closs... those are just ones i can remember off the top if my head that have managed to eventually escape, ranging from a few months being held to almost 3 decades. I know of a few more whose names i can't remember. Its way too common. I hate when law enforcement tries to say "oh they ran away" or something to that effect and don't bother searching. Also, they all found a way to escape, without the help of law enforcement.
In ohio where I live a father and son kept their niece/cousin chained to a mattress in the basement to assault, they were caught when she escaped. Rudy Farias was locked up by his mother for years after she faked his kidnapping. Blanche Monnier is another case that is particularly horrible, mother and brother locked her up for 25 years.
I think what they mean is, it's unfathomable how many people in the world are chained up _right now_ that we are unaware of. it's so scary

I'm confused as to why she was sentenced to death, in his last words he said something along the lines of "I would have done it anyway" which yeah definitely suggests she probably asked him to do it, however, it shows his willingness. secondly, she wasn't the one to kill him? I feel like the fact that he killed without being directly harmed by him shows that perhaps he is more dangerous? idk I just don't think she should have been killed for this, jailed? yes, but killed? no.
You bring up a good point. Like why is she considered the primary killer and not an accessory. I wonder. Maybe there was a different version of the story that Stephanie didn't mention (like how each of them said they were the one who came up with the idea maybe they testified the same way for the execution of the plan)
I thought that too, but like the 2nd case. I think it's sexism. 'The young woman who "seduced" the rich respected older Doctor and then killed him when he didn't give her what she wanted' Is how I think they looked at it.
52:19 Thankyou very much for saying that. "Nobody knows what they will do unless they are in a situation like that" Because that is the hardest thing to get victim survivors to understand. They are victims in the beginning but each day they work a little more. They may start literally second by second. Then move up to minute by minute, hour by hour. That's when the survivor emerges. But there is a basic instinct to survive and live. People have a hard time getting past the could have, should have and shame, guilt, etc. I wish I could wrap my hand around that and remove it from people I work with because it is heartbreaking to know that they carry that on top of the abuse. I seriously hope by hearing you say that people will realize that exists. Even if it is just one you could have saved a life. ~Respect and Strength
The part about wanting to remove the feelings of guilt, shame; and the thoughts of would've, could've away made me well up. Thank you, as a survivor that's nice to hear when you've been victim blamed and not believed

I absolutely took advantage of the benefits that my abuser could offer me.. I already had suffered the abuse but in my mind the best way I could benefit from it all was to take advantage of his power & rise above.. make him pay for my success taking advantage of the situation. Cause I knew it would’ve been an uphill battle to actually make him suffer the consequences he deserved.. so I played the game that I knew we were playing. Growing up I often heard that when being assaulted, it's best not to fight so that you live. That's so heartbreaking to me.
That’s to f’ed up
I was sa'd by my first bf, I was 15-16. I was forced to do things and gaslighted into thinking I was an awful human being who deserved to be treated such a way. I am 20 now and it still affects me every single day. My current boyfriend is the only one who has ever made me feel safe and take the situation seriously, he has had to calm me down from nightmares many times. And considering my story isn't "that bad" and it still messes this much with me, I can totally 100% believe that people don't want to live anymore after what happened to them. When being assaulted you're being reduced to an object and your mind will not be able to grasp that people can do such things, it will leave you questioning every human being you meet in your life.
@@sleepymonsteraddict I’m so sorry that happened to you, I hope your experience is not belittled because it’s considered “bad”. Your experience matters and should be heard. I’m glad you found someone that can help u heal and support, I wish you nothing but happiness and more 🥰
What kind of creep Netizen hears the second story and comments that this was simply a coldhearted woman "sleeping her way to the top"? Sir, please take several seats.
People were absolutely losing it on Twitter. You are loved.
what happened👀
my chinese mom told me about this kinds of things, in rural villages there is commonly a lot of these kidnappings and sex trafficking of women (bc of the lack of women in those villages due to families wanting sons)
WHAT???
Damn, and I was told that China was one of the safest places in the world for women, damn what a shame.
The first story is a reality check that no matter what ppl always gonna find a way to blame the woman😢
Hey Stephaniee, just wanted to let you know bout a recent case about 4 man raping a monitor LIZARD in India which is absolutely absurd. Pls cover this case^^
i never liked podcasts, but this stuff got me hooked
Same!
YESSS
Same. I like listening to her while I draw/work/ clean
Can you tell me the name of her podcast?
@@rachelrae860 you’re watching it rn
Stephanie really makes my day without knowing it, I’ll casually listen and laugh while everyone thinks I’m going crazy.
And can we please talk how Mr.MangoButt is so interactive now than before? Love it
Mr. Mango 🥭 🍑 Butt Issa wild title lol😂
Laugh??? Did we watch the same video??? What part of women being trafficked and sa'd is funny???
Lack of human rights and unjust judicial system in China. This is happening modern age China with TikTok, online shopping and beautiful building facades. There are likely millions of these girls in similar or worst situations. Imagine the devastation of the donors and sponsors. That’s why trust is so low in China, and no one would help others on the streets. Videos of poverty are now highly censored. Less and less victims could be helped. The chained woman’s journey showed morality in most of China. Her numerous encounters of one evil after another, even after she was “rescued”.
Im addicted to your story telling abilities. You give the most detailed, captivating portrayal of every case ive watched from you. I love that you cover stories from everywhere new subscriber and forever here
portrayal, not betrayal
portrayal, not betrayal
Aye mistakes happen especially when smoking the devil's lettuce 🤣🤣🤣 thanks for pointing it out
Soooo happy to see you again, this last 2 weeks were torture, but definitely glad to know that you are safe and sound, please don’t doubt to take days off and to rest, but please let us know! You are more important to us than you imagine ❤
Stephanie, thank you so much for all your hard work! You bring light to heartbreaking cases while being respectful and responsible when it comes to addressing the families victims. Keep doing what you’re doing and please keep bringing awareness and giving families affected by horrible crimes an outlet and making a way to make sure that family member isn’t forgotten. ❤️
I remember hearing about this somewhere else, my Jaw dropped! This is insane, thanks for covering it more guys.❤
Stephanie's hair is always on point. That's all I have to contribute here. 😂
I love you Stephanie listening to your podcast feels like having a friend even if your videos are dark haha. Thank you for what you do, you make me feel less alone
This comment hits home. ❤
the dog blowing out the candle made my day 😭
here's a question: if this man sees no problem with buying, assaulting, and chaining up a woman, then why would he ever see a problem with selling off his own daughter?
I seriously love the good netizens. To come together and help strangers is so heartwarming. If half the world had half thier hearts this world would be so much better.
The first story makes my heart ache for the children and especially the mother
The Chained Woman: Brilliantly researched, analysed and reported . Shocking story, disgusting state of affairs for women in China.
Happens in the US also, but not on social media
It happens unfortunately worldwide @@xenuburger7924
Happens everywhere my friend. People are just too focused on China to not see that it's also happening in our very own country of U.S.A.
Hello Stephanie!! This is the first comment that I have made on your channel. I just wanted to let you know how much you and your hubby are loved! I have followed many "True Crime" channels, and you are by far my favorite! I love how you tell a story. You and your team are top-notch!! Just wanted to say thank you and tell you how much you are appreciated!💗💗💗💗💗
Thank you so much Stephanie for this video. I love your content so much, and the fact that you did this video shows that you care so much about your audience because you absolutely did not have to, and we would still understand and love you.!
so glad she’s back and completely recovered. And... I heard about this story a long time ago, so glad to hear about it again
I don't know about the second story relationship to understand how deeply this woman felt about him. The emotion in the video is real, the woman isn't a sociopath for sure - but she could easily have a different personality disorder that we don't know enough information to diagnose.
You mean psycopath, right. Because sociopath could still feel a little bit sympathy.

You’re such a fantastic story teller! I was so into the story that I forgot the title and was shocked when he found the woman in the shed 😅 you’re amazing! I’m so glad I found your channel
The husband was actually sentenced to 9 years in prison, not 3.
Do you have a link to an article supporting this?
@@awesomeirlable You can literally google search this case.
This is the earliest I've ever been! Glad you're doing great!
I’m so glad you have started to posting again! Thank so much for making my day!
Omg thank you stephanieeee for uploading again, I have missed you and you videos soooo much these past 2 weeks that have been feeling like 4 months😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I don't think she manipulated him. Her reaction alone was pure joy and happiness for him. I didn't perceive any signs of feeling relieved from guilt. It was pure love. I could tell it was completely selfless. She didn't even cross her own mind. I don't think it was a trauma bond. I think he just wanted her to have peace, and they both went about it the wrong way.
Thank you for covering this. Have been awaiting for more information on this woman and her story and idk if we will. But love a good lil reupload to remind me to look more into the trapped woman.
I just researched it and I blow the punch line but people are being punished.
Hi Stephanie! I'm so glad that you are feeling better! Taking a break and being sick is nothing you have to apologize for, I really hope you know that your work is incredible and that your posting schedule is frankly some of the most impressive I've ever seen, with unmatched quality at that, so take as much time as you need💕💕
For the second couple, I feel like part of her emotions being so strong is because the person that listened to her and did everything he could to rectify all the bad things the world had done to her wouldn’t be punished so harshly made her so thankful. They may have loved each other or not, but I do feel she appreciates him more than anyone else in this world. When the world was cold and evil to her and she felt shut off from everyone, he listened and did what he could to support her. He tried to make things warmer for her. And she knows he won’t be punished in the same way for trying to make her world brighter despite the constant darkness she suffered up until that point
I feel like kids who see their mother chained up their entire lives probably cannot see their mother as an actual person. MAYBE after their mother was freed, they could build a real relationship. Hoping for anything better than that without the mother's freedom is fantasy.
seeing how you've grown and evolved is really great. i am so proud of you. hopefully that isn't weird from an internet stranger.
Always excited when new content appears, but also terrified at what you’ve uncovered. Love your work. 🤗
I appreciate all the hard work y'all do, and really enjoy the multiple stories! Thank-you!
I feel like you're so much more expressive and talking with your hands here. I love all of your new and old videos but it was very eye catching! I like seeing you get into what you're doing! Keep up the amazing work and research.
I been waiting for this!! Glad you are feeling better!! ❤❤
Thank you for still makeing a video its appreciated. Youre great stephanie
I'm glad you've reposted this. I missed watching it at the time when you posted it the first time. I hope you're feeling much better ❤❤❤❤❤
Love this channel so much ❤ Thank You for all your hard work😊
So happy you are feeling better and are back. I can watch your BAMs over and over as my background now. So I appreciate it!
so glad you're feeling better stephanie !! missed you so so much, NEVER apologise for being sick, we're all human
these cases are always so infuriating oh my god. I CANT. but thank you again for being ONE OF THE VERY BEST TRUE CRIME CHANNELS and for sharing your dog!
As an avid Stephanie viewer I’ve seen all these videos when they were just posted but I have no problem watching them again❤
Glad you feel better! Small tip that makes me feel better:
Boil water
Couple drops of peppermint essential oil
Drape a towel over your head/the pot and breathe in the steam
Respectfully, I do not think that is safe to do at all 🖤
@@Gaius_Sinstoneit is actually, it's a home remedy in many cultures
@@Jiji_here_431 It’s extremely dangerous to deeply inhale heated essential oils. Please be safe 🖤
We would have a pot of boiled potatoes and inhale the steam from that, was quite effective as a kid
Thank you Stephanie for bringing this to light!
Welcome back! Happy to see you feeling better! ♥️
Stephanie, thanks for putting the work for all of us you're the best
Omg I'm so glad you are covering this! I think about this often.
So glad you are feeling better. ✨️ Appreciate all that you do~ 🙏
I am absolutely loving all of your videos - over each channel. You do an amazing job sharing stories, with such respect also - I see some youtubers make fun, even unintentionally, and it can become distasteful, but your extensive research, the commentary from your partner, you make it roll really well.
Thank you for all of your videos
The reason she was so stoic with no emotion is probably cuz she was about to die and had cameras in her face and to deal with certain traumas your brain can just make you seek that way but she has and had a soul clearly she loved that boy and was so happy that he was not going to die that actually is really heavy I cried pretty hard I wished she didn't do what she did
