    Carlee Russell UPDATE - She has since admitted through her attorney that she was not kidnapped, she did not see a baby on the side of the road, and she did not have contact or help from anyone while she was "missing." She apologized through her attorney - to the community, police, her family, and all those that helped in the search for her.

    As a black woman, and as someone who lives 5 minutes away from where she “disappeared,” I am grateful that you covered this case. It has left my city disgusted with her and her family. I feel soooo bad for Angela Harris, I can’t even imagine losing my daughter , then putting in effort to find someone else’s daughter , just to find out she lied about being abducted. That is a HUGE slap to the face let alone that woman’s heart who could have only only wished her daughter would have been found alive. I really held hope until I heard about her Google search history,then I felt angry,betrayed,taken advantage of emotionally. She needs charged , she wasted ppls time ,resources,and ppls money to “find”her, let alone the ppl who worried and prayed for her. Just sick that this was even thought of,let alone done….. 😢

      I sincerely believe that people who do this deserve to be charged with some type of crime and they owe the government of their Community the money that was spent on looking for them. I don't believe they deserve jail time I believe they should be forced to have therapy and they should serve community service. The community service should be in a situation where they either serve at a battered women's shelter or for a homeless shelter so they can realize how good their life was. Same as Papini she had a great life!

      I dont usually want charges in cases like this as much as I want restitution, but this time I hope she faces, or pleads to, some kind of charges that prevent her from continuing her nursing career.
      Had we seen evidence of a mental break from which she could recover - fine. Mental Health will get your ass and make you do some weird ass shit. She, however, acted with intent days in advance. This suggests some things about her ethics that is not congruent with caring for patients.

    This case infuriates me!!! As a black woman my community knows and talks about the amount of black girls and women missing who are ignored, dismissed, & not taken seriously. It is sickening to know that she faked this and has contributed to making things hard for girls and women who are actually missing! Unfortunately police don't take full action in most cases here in Alabama. A few days prior to this case a baby "went missing" when actually the car just rolled into some trees and plants. Had the police searching for a few hours. Police here are also completely hands full with shootings down in downtown Bham. It's awful down here and even though hoover is supposed to be "safer", night is still a place for people to shoot others. Hopefully the police take future cases serious, but it gets difficult with constant fake calls.

I would not wish that on my worst enemy. Not to mention the aftercare, daily wrapping and painfully unwrapping the bandages. All I wanted to do was write to other burn victims and let them know that they’re not alone and it hurts so bad you wanna die but your skin grows back and your appearance is not a issue because you’ll be back to normal in no time. Only burn victims can understand the pain and suffering. And the trauma from candles or open flames or whatever it was that burned you. Thank you for always being so kind and understanding to not only the victims but also the perpetrators in your videos. I am someone who has been through a lot and can often empathize with people who do bad things. I have never been a criminal but I can see how some people’s circumstances can lead them down a dark and unfortunate path because I could have easily been one of those people. I have a great support system in my mother so she keeps me grounded in reality but some people don’t have that and you never judge people’s actions too harshly which I appreciate because I truly love everyone. This case has me soooo angry. Hi Stephanie. My name is Torrie and my little sister Tayla went missing in 2018. She was held against her will eight days and nights. She was sixteen years old. The police did nothing to help find her. My family had to contact our own searches. She escaped and ran straight to the police station.
    Her google searches , her parent’s behavior, everything seems so so so suspicious. I don’t think any of this ever happened. I think she faked this kidnapping. I think she wasted money and police resources and this is why in cases like my sisters, the police don’t immediately jump to help. The black community in Wilmington NC is absolutely enraged of this woman.
    Now I will say I initially prayed for her return. And I’m very happy she’s home with her family but what she’s doing is wrong. She’s wrong UNLESS she literally had a mental breakdown. But something is not right.

    No zip ties, but I took a neighbor to Academy, when we came out both of my side mirrors were oddly pointed down to the ground. I don't use them often so we were miles away when I noticed.
    When my daughter was little, I truly believe a lady tried to rob me or take my child while I was loading groceries in the car. She backed off & ran to a red truck when she saw I had a knife.

    Literally 3 weeks before this situation, I seen a toddler running around naked on the street looking around and literally without hesitation I jumped out the car to help thinking he was lost. He was only lk 5 houses away from his house and his sister ended up grabbing him not even a minute later. It’s crazy because I swear I have like zero motherly instinct lol. I was just doing what I think anyone would do but I was so scared after this happened. Even though nothing happened, it made me think twice before ever doing that again. You shouldn’t have to regret helping a child in need…

    • @KaiLucasZachary
      @KaiLucasZachary 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Should it ever happen again, do what was done in this video (even though it turned out to be fake): call 911 and keep the child in your sight but do not approach unless instructed to by the dispatcher. When it comes to a missing child, police will be there quick.

  • @JCX-9
    @JCX-9 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Definitely the fact the 911 dispatch hung up with Carly is a red flag. She cut off the communication, why? If she stayed on the phone with the woman we would hear what had happened. Where is the explanation for 911 doing this?
    This is from instructions of what to do when calling 911.
    Stay on the line. Don't hang up until the rescue crew arrives. The operator may want to walk you through giving first-aid or CPR if necessary, or tell you if you should move to a safer location until help arrives.
    If you get disconnected: If calling 911 from a cell phone, provide your wireless number so the operator can call back if the call drops.

    As a young black female that lives in the same state and city it's truly heartbreaking cause she is so stupid what she did was stupid. The next day I drove past the sight where the alleged abduction happened I saw people searching on the side of the highway beside the people that weren't seen, IT WAS A HUGE waste of people's time.

    My goodness. This story is so chilling, and I'm not gonna lie, I don't know if I'd stop. I'd like to say I would due to how much I care for people, especially children, but I'm also very cautious and a paranoid person. I appreciate you telling this story as well as many others. Stephanie, I've been a true crime follower for 20 years now and you're slowly becoming my favorite true crime channel. You have a way of describing these events in which I can just imagine everything happening in real time. You are also entertaining, intelligent, and have a high emotional IQ. You have good instinct. I also appreciate how you include all the important details about each case. I notice some TH-camrs skip out on very important details. I can tell you put a lot of research and effort into these videos. Thank you and congrats on your marriage.
    I'd like to make a request for you to look into the case of Darlie Routier and whether you believe she is guilty or not. She is on death row for the murder of her young sons.

    Some of those legends hold some truth. I used to work retail. We got a call from the store a few blocks down because women were coming back to their cars and had SF (single female) written on them. I don't know with what or how, but I do know the police were called to the store and they watched the parking lot for a week. I saw them when I would drive by. Whenever our store closed at night, all team members walked out together - something I so appreciate looking back.
