Hola comrades. This is TH-cam's "kitfluencer" Of Models & Monsters. I am a makeup artist/scale model connoisseur from Toronto. I have been building models since I was 12 and I haven't really started getting good at it till recently. I specialize mainly in military aircraft from The Great War to World War 2 but occasionally dabble in other mediums. I would love to hear from viewers if they feel there's certain areas I could improve, or just a nice comment never hurts anyone. Thanks for watching.
Let's Craft Episode 16 Tamiya 1/48 Crashed P-47D Thunderbolt D-Day Diorama
Better 4 months late than never. I apologize for the lack of content this year, apart from life getting in the way, this diorama proved to be more than I expected. But it's here now, so enjoy or viciously critique my first full diorama build.

Let's Craft Episode 1 Eduard 1/48 Spitfire Story "The Few"
Great work but your props are on the wrong sides…
@@brianmaki4168 Yes... thank you.
Hello how many hours does IT take yOu to make this model excluding drying time?
@Michu32421 Hello to you. Usually, a fairly simple model like this would take me without drying time at least one month. Keep in mind however I have other obligations in my life so if this were my only job it'd probably take 3 weeks or less.
Having just bought one of these kit's yesterday your video has given me lot's of ideas.
I'm very aware now that the props were on the wrong sides, I've fixed them since then so all you rivet counters can relax now.
Great job but your props are on the wrong sides…
What nozzle do youmuse for marbling? nI'm trying but can't get it too work.
@@R_van_K Mine is a .35mm. Taking off the spray cap and using a low psi will get you those super fine lines.
Hey no black rubba gloves?🤣 Jman
@@robertmunoz7543 They don't fit.
Very nice! However, the propellers were placed on the wrong sides. The blades are set for inward rotation over the top of their arcs- they should rotate outward.
I like the music my bro
Looks amazing! Thank you for clipping your fingernails too🤣
Kill the music
Great video pop up message including the music are annoying the video would of okay if the if the Builder was speaking .
The seat is made from early composite material that's a natural deep brown colour, SRPB - Synthetic Resin Bonded Paper. The prop blades are made of wood on the MKIX. Research the subject, details matter. I love the name of your channel 😀
Nice job
Top notch, fantastic work!
Stylistically this is a super build! You are very talented and skilled. I take my hat off! From a realism standpoint I wonder though whether these aircraft were really that heavily weathered, worn and stained. I think Drachinifel mentioned in one of his videos about carrier ops during WW II, that the aircraft were constantly maintained and the paint was touched up constantly, plus replacement aircraft that came in regulary, fresh from the factory.
@marcusaureliusantoninusaug2161 Thank you. I get what you mean, it's just a habit of mine to heavily weather my projects.
Top work and a great concept for a diorama. Really enjoyed this!
I like your sense of humor 😂.
Very nice...
Once you have painted parts before glueing them which glue do you use?
@mpierrela I'll generally use Inoteca instant bond, but first I try to scrape off a little of the paint so it adheres better.
@@ofmodelsandmonsters got it
Turned out pretty sweet, i dig it
One tiny thing.....after a crash landing I do not think seat belts would so nicely placed on the seat. That being said I've never been shot down so take it with a grain of salt. Other than that beautiful build!
@gonzalomendoza3152 I thought of that too, it's just that photo etch seatbelts are hard to position in any way other than neat due to them being silver on one side. Anyway, thank you for the comment.
Yeah you’re right! Besides it isn’t out of the question that the pilot took the time to do that I mean during times of major stress people do strange things.
Great job 👍. But this is a Pacific pilot !!!
@@yazo9749 He just left his brown jacket in the cockpit 😊
What an amazing job on that Lightning! I'd be happy if mine turns out even half as good as yours.
@@vincemokry9643 Muchas gracias. I'm sure yours will look awesome.
Hola, buscando informacion encontre tu excelente trabajo, quedo espectacular, estoy construyendo este mismo modelo, tu explicaciones me serviran de guia, saludos desde Chile
That’s a FIRST CLASS video! Great build. I learned a lot by watching it! Thank you. I thought the mottling might have been overdone a bit …? Looking at props, the chipping is usually at the leading edge and more extreme at the end of the prop that’s spinning the fastest. Not so much spread out. That’s what I’ve noticed anyway. My comments are “small potatoes”. I really did learn a lot from this high quality video that was obviously well thought out.
Great work. Just started building my Widow by Revell. I’ll leave this level of detail to you, but you have me some inspiration to try something different and new.
Excellent job building and painting your Tamiya P-38J Lightning and thank you for posting your video too!
Japanese aircraft, especially the Kawanishi float plane ( Emily) big and beautiful and impressive and damned challenging. I stayed with it to completion. Great things come to those who have patience. I'll just love the fighter aircraft kits no matter who or what companies they are from, I build in 1/32 scale and bigger Ilove the box art . That sells the kits. . I will never stop buying and building.
@JohnLVieira I got the Emily in stash too, good to hear it's challenging.
Jap/Nip ?🤔 Jman
Can anyone answer this question please?I'm serious!
What particular time ,yr and airgroup and carrier was this particular paint scheme this Val was issued in the painted image on the front of box cover?
@JohnLVieira Only info I can give you is that the Val on the cover is from the No. 1 AC. 21st Section of First Squadron from the Carrier Soryu on December 8, 1941.
At 13:40, you have jokes! SMH
What was manufactured during the late war, or if the war went on longer, probably had similar or even larger fit issues. Maybe the kit was just ultra realistic... 🤔
@@gebus5633 I never thought of it that way. Guess I can look forward to much of the same when I build the Academy Ta 183.
Always wondered.. why do so many TH-cam modellers “snip & drop” the parts????
@@danestewart2539 🤔
Nice work. Got ya subbed.
@@charlie418791 ¡Gracias!
Fine work!! Mine is still in progress. I noticed that you did not added any tubing or hoses on the landing gear bays. Do you think it is too much work not to be perceived? Great job. I got some hints from the video.
@AlexandreBst Sometimes I just get lazy or I want to finish up the project quickly, but generally I try to add as many details as I can.
Unbelievable. You'd swear that thing was made out of metal. I was looking for videos before starting this kit and this one is top level. Did it inspire me or make me feel that I should not even attempt it? I'll go ahead and give it a shot, but I'll be glad if it looks like the box art compared to your masterpiece. Perhaps in the future I can utilize some of your techniques and build a more professional finished product. YOU ARE A MASTER!
@RickBoomer Thank you so much Rick. I'm glad you're going for it and I believe in you.
How's this kit stack up to the other 1/48 scale Gloster Gladiators on the market? nice build!
@lorimcquinn3966 I have the Roden 1/48 Sea Gladiator as well and it looks a little more detailed compared to this one but I'm pretty sure it won't fit together as well as this one did.
@@ofmodelsandmonsters Thanks for the input. I'll check out the Roden kit. I'm just finishing a (57) year old 1/48 scale kit by Impact of London, England. Why it certainly doesn't have the detail of modern kits, it sparked an interest in the Gloster Gladiator and I wonder who builds the best kit. Thanks.
Turned out well but i cant be bothered with all the messing around. I build to relax not get stressed with poor quality fitment.
So I was just made aware that the Spitfire actually had wooden propeller blades. All these years thinking I knew everything about it, I didn't. So before anyone else corrects me, I am now aware that I made a mistake with the chipping and if I build anymore Spitfires, I will rectify that flub.
The orange baron
Really looked forward to watching this. You're clearly a very skilled modeller. But.......... I had to give up on the video after 10 mins. The racket in the background just proved too much for me.
Then ….turn down the volume …?
Nice work!
¡Gracias!
It looks great, but for a lesser mortal like me, it's rather intimidating. Having said that, I'd like to give it a go. 😊❤😊
We're all equal here, mi amigo. Go for it, I believe in you.
Il costo della scatola e Altalenante.. Per negozio 29:28 . 😢
Sorry with what I am going to write: I am not seeing a bad kit. I am seeing a builder that make medium effort to make good finished kit with what he has on hands. One evident issue: the bad decals aplication effort.
Superb sir. This kit flew into my hangar today 8/5/24 so this excellent video is dead handy! Especially the rigging part. Regards from England. Happy to subscribe.
Gracias señor.
Airfix have upped their game with new releases I see you did a good job will get one once ave finished what's in my stash
And thus continues the cycle of adding to never ending collection 😄 Thank you señor.
ITS NAME IS 隼 隼=FALCON
I bought this model Was crap, massive gaps, parts didn't fit, Stomped on it , threw in the bin
Can't say I blame you, but I never give up on a model, no matter how awful it is.
