I saw this at Goodwood when it was unveiled and fell in love. A few months ago, I passed one on a very rural back road here in Suffolk, UK, and it is one of the few times where a car has shot past for only a second or two but has left me with my mouth hanging open. Gorgeous creation.
One of the wildest and most gorgeous Astons out there, in my opinion. And what a sound from that V12! I wasn't expecting quite that level of interior resonance, but it's very welcome. Thank you so much for sharing this unicorn car with everyone, Tedward.
The way the V12 resonates is pure music! And the explanation about less sound deadening makes so much sense why the exhaust is so much more pronounced in the Shooting Brake vs the others Zagatos.
My first reaction upon seeing the video on the home page, "where the hell did he get that?" No offense intended but didn't find a single pov of this car when it came out. That interior is lit.
Most focus on new cars and making relationships with every OEM as their only or primary source of content. They are consumer focused so it makes sense to review the latest vehicles to hit the market. It gets a lot of views but my focus is on cars I care deeply about. So I’ve built relationships with folks that exist in that world instead and with a few oems as a secondary source.
I think they actually just call it a convertible but I called it a roadster in the video. I don’t know anyone with one. This is the only vanquish Zagato I’ve seen in real life
@@TedwardDrives Damn. Well to be fair this is the best looking one. I remember trying to look up videos on it when it was released but nobody did it then. My money no object dream car definitely.
Sitting still, this car looks like it's going insanely fast. The topology of the rear end just makes it look like a flag flapping in the wind. One of the best looking cars I have ever seen.
i was in a horrid mood today...then i cam across this video...one of my all time favorites! thanks Tedward for showing off this beautiful car and making me a happy boy again!
This Aston V12 has evolved so much on from that, kinda offensive to the Aston engine craftsman in Warwickshire 😂 Although sentiment is definitely true lol
Absolutely beautiful car! Love the sunroof! I think the main reasons cars like these get put in collections are twofold. One, they usually go up in value since it's a limited run. Two, we have too many animals masquerading as humans nowadays that'd scratch the car (because rich people bad), break into it, sit on it for tiktok, etc...
This car in "sterling green" or "Caribbean Pearl” colorway will be the most majestic this on the road😂. Because people will be like that's the coolest looking estate they have ever seen.
one thing i noticed: while as you said there isn't an indicator on the tachometer for the redline, in manual mode the gear indicator turns red when close to redline, so i guess there's something
I was once car spotting in London and I was stood next to a rather nice dark green 718 GT4 talking to a fellow spotter. I'd walked the other way up the road to get to where we were and I'd passed a zagato shooting break on the way. When I told the other guy it was there he made exactly this face... 😱
Another zagato shooting break story: I was at the London classic car show a few years ago talking to a bloke from Aston Martin about the car when, a few metres away, the 1920s aero engined land speed record car "Babs" started up and scared the living shit out of me. Bear in mind that the London classic car show is hosted indoors in what effectively amounts to a massive echo chamber.
I was really surprised to see that the new DB12 doesn't have a V12... Such a shame as the V12 is what all Aston's deserve! Also, imagine a DBS shooting brake... that would be the ultimate dream car!
My first thought was “it looks like the Batmobile.” Great minds think alike.😂😂😂. I agree with you about the NA V12 (even though I’ ve never driven one, lol)
That Chevy truck driver... clear road ahead, clear behind, yet he let you go. I have a feeling he knew as much as we did. Perhas he didn't even plan on taking the left.😉 You could feel the jealousy of that white ML/GLE/whatever driver through the screen. 😂It's crazy how much trust people put in their brakes and insurance when tailgating an Aston with carbon ceramics. I love the blinkers' sound so I wouldn't mind the plastic stocks. I don't know how to explain it in normal terms, so I'll use keyboard ones. I can't think of a modern car that has clicky blinker sound, all the cars have thocky sounding blinkers nowadays and I don't like that since that's something you use very often. I still can't stomach it about Golf VII, coming from a Golf IV. Idk how I feel about the interior, but besides that it is a masterpiece. I think this Aston is one of the most beautiful cars of all time and I am so glad we're 3 months into 2024 and your channel is already PACKED with so many Astons, especially this one. Living the dream through your videos.
That comment about building out undriveable cars in racing games got a laugh out of me. Been there done that many times! Crank that horsepower as high as possible and you end up doing a perpetual burnout. Sometimes chasing higher numbers has diminishing returns, in games and in real cars.
Amazing! For the redline, i noticed the gear indicator would turn red, i guess thats what the red line is for this car? I noticed ut towards the end lol
Just FYI - regarding the desire for a rev limiter: the gear position indicator display (GPID) in the center of the dash flashes red in touchtronic sport mode to indicate the optimum time to make an upshift
Because of the proportions I always thought these were 4 seaters like the gtc and the ff.. Since it's not and there's tons of space I'd love to see an exercise of this car with that same v12 behind the driver something the 812 cannot achieve. Ofc there are cooling problems but... solve them lol
Well this is something special. Whether you like the styling or not, I must say that it is really well balanced with plenty design details. A Ferrari may be technically better, a Lamborghini may be cooler, but nothing beats the 007 vibes of an Aston Martin. And that V12... does it sound better than a Lexus LFA? The technology in this car is relatively ancient, but this V12 never disappoints.
I prefer the regular vanquish (S ultimate in particular). Although if I had the money for this or any of them or the old vantage v12 s, I’d have to get the new style interior dash put it. These old interiors were not it.
definitely cool in person, was super shocked to see one pull up at our dealership once because its obv a 1million dollar car, but for that price.... do you reallyyyyyyyyyyyy get 1 mil worth of car?
You certainly get exclusivity. Remember when 911R were traded at 800k+? And that was a 911! This is a limited production that required design, manufacturing, and bespoke parts. This isn't easy to replicate and all that investment would be costly when only spread across 99 units to sell.
@@TedwardDrives That is most definitely true, collectors items will ALWAYS be 100x in value. This car is no doubt cool as hell and unique as hell, but hey we're just some ordinary middle class citizens what can we say about a zagato shooting brake hahah
