Green, tan leather, silver wheels, and it's a Jaaaag. Can't go wrong
Yeah it's a lovely spec, dark green and dark blue tend to be my favourite colours
@@graygamingps4503same. I have a green over tan Volvo Amazon and a matching E46 Coupé (and a couple of dailies not worth being mentioned). I am looking for the crown of this "collection"...
Although navy over tan also has its allure and is far easier to come by on the used car market.
Only way to spec a jag tbh 😂
One of the best sounding non American supercharged v8
@@carguywyatt9456 Agreed
Or probably the best sounding V8!
The engine is a Ford engine
@@gasolara2002 What? No it's not. Just because it's a 5.0L V8 doesn't mean it's a Ford engine. It's JLR's in-house built V8.
@@gasolara2002 its a jaguar designed engine manufactured in wolverhampton by JLR. Ford hasn't had anything to do with Jag since 2008.
The British get the styling right almost every time.
My wife bought me one of those drive an exotic tickets for Father’s Day once. The line for the Ferrari and Lamborghini were super long, but no one was waiting for the F-Type (coupe), so I said screw it. It was an absolute blast and the exhaust note was incredible! One day this may be my mid life crisis convertible.
Its exhaust sound is pure music to the ears.
The pre facelift cars look so much better than the facelift ones imo, still one of the coolest modern muscle cars!
This car is 10 years old. Amazing.
Day 11 of asking Tedward to drive the S60R (this Jaaaag sounds absolutely insane and I can’t believe this is already 10 years old😳)
Agreed!! the c30 video is still one of my favorites, an s60r video would be amazing!
The V6 sounds good too. I have a 2016 S coupe with manual transmission, a great car to drive on the twisty roads of rural New Hampshire. Triple black, it has a menacing look to it. Only has 380HP but that's enough on those backroads.
380hp is more than enough bro thats a shiiiiit tonne of fun
"I didnt know thats what those sound like" is the perfect way to describe the f type. Most of the owners baby them and keep the valves closed, so its rare you ever hear them. Even the v6 sounds heavenly
I had a V6 S FType and watching this brought such a smile to my face, it felt as if I was driving it again. Those accelerations, the way the traction would break just enough to be exciting but not enough for it to lose control is just perfect 👌
What a beautiful machine! It sounds like a proper British muscle car, but it's already leaking coolant!😯
Says who 😆
Absolutely wild - bought a black on black V8 S a week before this video came out. Can confirm - the best driving experience I've ever felt!
I grew up with several Jags as a kid. My grandfathers 1963 Mark 2 with a 4 speed was probably the best one I rode in to be honest.
The V6 Spec of this car sounds insane and the supercharger on them are so cool
I’m glad they’re really ‘affordable’ (30-45k) now! I would want one from Carvana or Carmax so I could get a warranty.
I can see why u want the warranty but those companies and most dealerships give u many issues when it comes to warranties and half ass fix things so I guess its two sides to the coin also 💯
@@JmarzxI think Doug had pretty good luck with the carmax bumper to bumper warranties
I can speak from direct experience with the Carmax warranty on my 2015 F-Type R . It all depends on the dealer - I had my coolant pipes replaced under warranty, but Maxcare believed that the dealer was charging too much and I ended having to come out of pocket an extra $800 over what Maxcare covered.
@@Fordguy1997 I had a terrible time with Carvana. My view is, you can get a good deal on there if you're a car guy. Meaning, you can find a rare spec or vehicle priced well. The downside is you better prepare a month plus of no car while it's being repaired. Basically you get the car in the condition dealer vehicles are in when they recieve them. Before they're overlooked and repaired. That is up to you, the customer. And, most customer sdon't have the time to deal with the headache of it all, so just leave little issues. Saving Carvana the cost of actaully fixing the issue in the end. Carvana also owns the warranty company, SilverRock. This is my opinion after two cars from Carvana, that's what my view was at the end. I saved on a rare car, but had to waste so much of my time it would have been impossible if I wasn't remote. I returned the first car because the headache was not worth how rare the car was. One thing overlooked with the warranty on a rare car is that you might have to go to the dealer for the issue because the warranty forces you to go to your local Firestone for all the repairs. So keep that in mind when you pay 4k for an Audi, it's going to Firestone for the issues unless you want to pay the luxury shop fee which now is I think 300 or 500. You also only get 1 hour diagnosis, which at the dealer can add up fast when they charge 225/hr. Then, in the dealer might say it needs X part that costs 5000. Carvana (SilverRock) will say, nah we want this 2k "other brand" part because it's the same thing. The dealer wont do the repair with that part because it's a unique issue and the other cheaper parts never really fix it, so the customer has to pay the $3,000 difference for their "free" warranty repair. Thinking you'll save on a common issue with a vehicle you want where the repair can cost 10k... maybe not. You might end up paying 4k for the warranty and then pay out 3k over the life of the warranty. So you have to have over 7k worth of warranty issues for it to make financial sense for one common rare issue. Never mind all the other issues these vehicles have. It's a huge headache.
The older supercharged V8 model sounds so violent compared to the newer models
I was lucky enough to spend most of my teen years working on a series III Jaguar xJ6, and since then I have been lucky enough to have an 01 XJR and my father has a l322 with the same 5.0 supercharged engine as this f-type. Wonderful... if not expensive to maintain machines
Thanks a lot for recording the F-type and let us memorising the best sound which could not be heard anymore
That was a fun ride. The tan interior lightened things up just enough. Have a good 4th Tedward🎉🇺🇸
Once again Tedward, an incredible video with an amazing car! You do Jaguars and Astons sooo much justice when you review them which is great as a Jagggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg owner myself.
good morning tedward! the review nobody asked for but everyone wanted
I love watching your videos!
Same here. Hopefully he films more classic cars. Those are the best videos.
Now we need the V6 S comparison :)
I have been waiting for this video for so long.
A brawler in a fine fitted suit.
Absolutely PROPER spec 🤤 will absolutely go down as one of the great automotive designs of our time. Ian Callum’s finest!
This is still outrageous in 2024, my god.
Your audio setup truly shined in this one. Eargasms all around. Also, truly a British spec and it's fantastic, I admire the fact that the seatbelts and paddle shifters are in tan as well.
Always thought these were cool, but they're so unpopular I haven't thought about one for the past couple years for sure. Now that you showed this one - they're back on the menu for me. Hard to believe it's 10 yo already. The interior looks perfect to me, all the touch points look obvious, tactile, no unnecessary goofing around with shit ton of touch screens. BMW F series style gear knob, very pretty AC control wheels, clean, well organized steering wheel. The only thing it could use is an old fashioned handbrake rather than an electronic one.
Idk, I can't find proper words for it overall. It looks, it sings and it moves. Honestly, might've dethroned the LC500 in a "luxurious coupe perfect for a middle age crisis" category for me simply because it does all the LC already does, but screams way better on top of that.
My 2013 Jaguar XK-R sounds just like it. I just love my XK-R
Great video!
I use to watch Effspot's channel just to hear him do pulls in his F-Type SVR!
Love these, I have a 2010 low mileage XFR and man it rips.
this was my dream car when I was in high school, 10 years ago 😄still looks and sounds great
Such a sleeper pick. Totally flew under a lot of people’s radars. Such an awesome exhaust note
I had a 2015 R coupe in this BRG color. So nice to see a very similar car. These are gorgeous and washing it was an absolute pleasure.
I just got a job as a porter for a JLR dealership a few weeks ago, partly because of your videos, and actually had my first jaaaaaaag experience the day you uploaded this video. I agree the F-Type is timeless I got in it and was shocked that it was from 2016 cause it looked too new, but unlike the one you drove, mine was the V6. Funny world we live in.
One of the best sounding engines going
Awesome video! First comment on this video as well 😊. Tedward please film some more classic British car content or even classic European cars as well.
Those burbles bouncing off the trees are insane! Love your videos
I just got a ‘16 V6S in November. So much fun to drive, and pretty rare to see. All for less than a new Camry. I’m sure that maintenance will bite me eventually, but I look for any excuse to drive it, these are very underrated.
Awesome baby
Holy HELL!! That thing sounds ridiculous! I love it!
As a Jag fan, I love that this is the car I can point to whenever someone doesn't get my love for them
Rented one on turo for 2 days. Amazing machine very light + fast
Ironically, you reviewed this V8, but TIL the v6 could be had with a manual and now that is the one I want
Having spent time behind the wheel of many a modern sports car (F82 M4, 991 Carrera S, M8 Competition, Boxster S, ND Miata, C5/C6/C8 Corvette, E46 M3, etc etc), The F-Type has always been the one I've enjoyed most. Both V6 and V8 S have lively, engaging chassis and steering, drop-dead gorgeous looks, and most importantly sound like nothing else on the road. I intend to own one again in the future.
Happy V8 = happy driver :)
Beautiful cars.
Had one of these in italian racing red... now im on number 4 😅
OMG this is incredible woohoo ❤
Goodnight from Nagoya, Japan 🇯🇵 ❤️
"Torque solves problems" should be on a t-shirt... 😉😉
I was so close to buying one last year. But practicality won out. Such a great sound and amazing design.
Me encantan tus videos ❤
Lovely car 😍😍
Good lord what is that noise 😭❤️🎶
Shaguar
I remember when these came out which was quite a departure from the grandpa mobiles they'd been pumping out for years before that lol. The goal was to attract younger buyers with an exciting car. This thing has aged so fucking well. I think they achieved their goal. At least somewhat.
I have a 2016 ND Miata and a 2016 F-Type, there are a lot of shared design cues.
Totally with you on the Meridian sound system, punches way way above its weight and you’re starting to see them in affordable cars now !
Glad you pronounced "Jaguar" correctly!
He didn't though... It's jaaaaaaaaaaaaag.
Or else!!!!!!!!!
Such an amazing car! I am looking at getting a V6 one day (prefer a v8, but to much tax on it here sadly)
You need to drive any gen of x150 XK its the perfect mix between this and the XK x100
I was seriously considering a F-Type R for that 575hp and that sound. Although I wanted a "lightweight" sports car with good power and handling, the styling and noise of the R was pulling at me. I also like the newer reworked interior; although I like the pre-facelift front end better. I was going to go test drive one and then checked insurance prices and they are insane - literally three times a Porsche 911. That was a deal breaker since I hate pissing money away on insurance or taxes.
Cool car
We need another LFA video I already watched all the ones you did lol
How do I add this to my playlist because this is music to my ears
Just as I’m in the market for one! Would you maybe be able to compare this to the V6? Would be great to see the comparison in sound and performance, along with your opinion of the two!
My money is on this being a future classic
6:06 Such Anger 🐆
I was investing a lot of time in past week or two looking at these, and you drop a video on a 14' one, talk about timing
14:04 this! Is why I don't have plans to buy a porsche...
ohoho thats a proper jaaag
sounds like those cap guns i used to have as a kid
This is gonna force the market up watch
Okay maybe you have convinced me to get one lol
I couldn't even imagine how this sounds in person
I laughed loudly 😆
Mate, you need to try the SVR variant! That's the fast one.
Can you review a mach 1 or rs5 v8
This fType is clean af. Is it on sale
honest question. i know you say its smooth, but the steering wheel looks noticebly shakey whenever you let go of it. Did it feel shaky or is it road vibrations/a stiffer steering rack??
A Jaguar that sounds like a huge roaring lion... Beautiful!!
Holy😩
I'd never get out of 2nd !! 😂😂😂
The spec, the sound. Omg….
Ya bloody ‘ooligan! 😂
They are closer to 3,400-3,500 pounds. They are all aluminum, bonded and riveted chassis and body, very advanced. The coupes have a pretty good trunk, much larger than the convertibles.
Should test drive mine. Have some vids posted. It’s much much louder 😊
It competed against the C7 Corvette at the time.
This video made this car super tempting. And the price you can get these cars for are insane especially for a V8. Between 40.000 to 50.000 euro or 43k to 53k dollars. But i wonder how expensive it is to keep it running. And how many problems these cars have.
I've got one of these... but I hate the soft top! Loses all of it looks compared to the hard top I think
It is very modest to say that is is impolite to drive such a loud car.
But it's okay because it's a Jaaaaaggg
Then get a good muffler system and enjoy it silently! :)
@@mpro.98 hahahahah exactly this. Committed multiple crimes? NO WORRIES!!! you drive a JAAAAAGGGG😂
“You’re not gettin’ caught ‘cause you didn’t *do* anything!” Well, in some locales you would have violated a noise ordinance so… 😂
Def just move 😆
These actually seem like a great deal on the used market (especially for the v6 ones). Does anyone have an opinion on the long-term reliability/maintenance cost that owns one of these?
Mine was bullet proof except for a coolant leak which happens to almost all of them if u live in the south cheap fix though
@@emperorzz very reliable
Coolant pipes are the only major issue, and replacing them is a pretty big job since you have to remove the SC. But DIY maintenance is super easy on these cars. Oil changes take about 20 min with an oil extractor since the filter is right on top of the engine!
They should have called this car the Jaguar Gunfire ❤
This car vs w204 c63 comparison please
Straight on rear view looks like a DB7 on Ozempic
Didn't Jaaag offer also a manual version??
For the V6 only. They are incredibly rare.
You didn’t sell the Porsche did you? We haven’t seen it in about a year
Nah, he talked about it in his recent 911 Turbo video
Did you have to stop and see a mechanic along the way 😂
