Hello, Love the video. just one question I set it all up in light burn but when I send it over to my laser it is just a black square and not the files as seen in lightburn on the laser, my machine is a CO2 50watt, what have I done wrong ?
I think a lot of that can be done in other (free) image editors. The white fill layer would be similar to changing the GAMA of the image. Or tweaking the highlights (independent of the shadows). Imag-r is pretty helpful I keep seeing that in laser project videos & tutorials.
Thanks for taking the time to show this step by step process. Do you own Imag-R for when I looked for the preview mode it was not there and then when I checked out the pricing it shows that the free version does not have preview but the $8/month has the preview option hence my thought that you own it since you had that option available.
mine is the free version, i use google chrome as a browser not sure if that make any difference but it should be right at the bottom of the page after you have converted your image to one of their dithering modes.
Good tutorial..I actually just did that exact one for my first 3d engraving.I didn't do no processing just straight from web to lightburn.Came out pretty dn good. After seeing this I can see the processing actually would of made it better. Thanks for taking the time to share the knowledge. Any other way for processing besides Photoshop?
yes there is a free program called Gimp that can do exactly what i did in photoshop. someone see this video and made a video of how to do it on gimp, i will try to find the link and post it below thank you
Really interesting video, thank you for sharing, really well done. We have just acquired a 180 watt CO2 laser and would like to create 3D engraving on Corian, or Staron - have you done anything with solid surface materials? We haven’t got lightburn what version do we need for Ruida controllers?
If you just go to lightburn and once you downloaded it you will choose the controller from there (Y) i have mainly only tested on wood and i also made some rubber stamps in another video that id the same effect really (Y)
Hello, could you help me choose a laser module, I don't know if you've tried them, one is the Sculfun S9 and the other is the ATOMSTACK M40, which one do you recommend, best regards, Pedro Luque.
yes it is, i did do a simular video with my diode laser on this channel, if you search LONGER RAY 10W in my channel, thank you but yet it is totally possible basically the same as i show.
if you watch the start of the video you will see where i got them from, they are not mine to give out i was just doing a personal test. www.google.com/search?q=cnc+stl+images&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS914US914&oq=cnc+stl+image&aqs=chrome.0.0i512j69i59l2j69i60.5568j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
Great tutorial! Only request would br to say specifically what file type you are using as I wasn't able to read that from the screen. Also, if you had done a third pass, what setting would you have used for that? Thanks again for being so through.
From Imag-R i save it as a .BMP fille, I have not tried a third pass, normally you want your deep etch first and then run another pass to try to clean that one up a little, if you wanted to run another i would go faster at a slightly higher power to maybe try to darken the lines a little, also one thing i have not tried but might be good is to raise the DPI for one of the passes and lower on the other maybe something i will try. good luck thanks for watching.
Did this one last night on raw plywood with da big gimping plug-in, it’ll get great contrast naturally on wood. It’s really a no brainer for 3d photos Honestly. I’ll hook you up, contact me if we can on here or leave your email and I’ll email you. th-cam.com/video/4IvAco_l0NI/w-d-xo.html
Thanks very much for making this video. It explained a lot.
Thanks for waatching, glad it can help some people out especially to give them a starting point. thank you

Awesome video! :) just a small thing, please delete you browser cache, so the imagR site loads properly :) 🥰
will do, i wondered why it went like that.

yeah i do normally mention the same can be done in gimp that is free and im sure plenty of others, i just use photoshop as i do other graphic work.

@@carphotography Thanks for the quick response. I tried both MS Edge and Chrome and neither one gave me the preview mode. Oh well. Thanks again,
The preview button is in every version, no matter if paid or not. The button shows as soon as you choose a material :)

Excelente, ❤❤🌈👍👽
Why do you change the scan angle on the second pass? I've never done that (yet), so curious... Thanks - great video!
i just feel like coming from the other direction helps to clean out the etching no science behind it really just something i like to do :D

Thanks for replying, i will get the software and see how we go, we have a RUIDA controller on this machine 6445 so this will work with Lightburn.
How much is in U.S. Dollar
Is there delivery to Iraq?
Can you do this with the 20w xtool diode laser
i have never used one so i am not sure but if you can mark wood at different colors i cant see why not, thank you
Hello from Spanish, this type of engraving can be done with a blue diode laser, I would appreciate your opinion, thanks, regards Pedro Luque
I have never used one so i am not sure, my laser is 80watt.

you sound sleepy
Sleepy or not at least i took the time to make the video. :D
How are you turning stl into lightburn? You're not. You're stealing ready file from google. Never ever you touch stl file which is 3d model.
i am not " turning stl into lightburn" with mid journey i can generate these all day long, when i made this video Midjourney wasnt a thing.
