Thanks so much for sharing this. I have tried to follow others who say "Do it this way" only to fail and give up. The way you explained has made a difference and I have had fun with this process, these last two days. I haven't engraved a single on yet but learnig to tweek it and make it work has been a game changer.
I have been engraving images onto slate and using the trace image function, until i watched this video if the trace came out crap i just didnt use the image and moved on. But now using your technique image trace is improved massively, thank you 🙏
wow good content. subbed. HOW I have not seen this channel before is beyond me . Ive been binge watching laser/cnc content since november, and this here is some great stuff! thanks
Don't forget to change the layer to "Fill". If you have the layer on "Line" it will not be right. Notice Jeff has his on C00 (Black) and is set to Fill. Thank you Jeff, I learned something very useful. Just subscribed.
Wow thank you I’m just now getting into engraving and was wondering how I can engrave any picture and turn it into a SVG file but you help me out a lot. I appreciate you, sir. Awesome mark.
I’ve been so frustrated with trace image. Was thinking of going to another program. I used others which made it nice but getting past trace image was driving me crazy. I’m going to try this. Makes sense and I’m sure it’ll work. Thanks for the video. 🤙🏽
Awesome video, my best friend and I were trying to make coasters & our image just was not cooperating no matter what we tried, this helped out a ton. You rule!
OKAY, thankyou very much, this is one of the best videos that I have seen on this subject and hopefully will make a difference ( huge ) on some pictures that I have been working on. Now all I have to do is remember where it is and what it is in all my Laser videos.
@@retparatrooper I am glad you did. I had ended up with other programs while searching but didn't know it can be done with Lightburn as well. And better too. My laser engraver is coming in about 10 days but can buy Lightburn soon now to try this out.
Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much for this great video. The laser engraver is purchased and on its way and will definitely be working on this. Thanks again and am subscribed. Ciao
Great video and I learned something new. New subscriber now and will be binging your other videos soon. I'm going to try this your way but also with removing the background of the original and then using this process to adjust it. Thanks
i did an owl, it looked better than ive ever got it with trace, and on the laser tab i selected fill instead of line and it came out looking fantastic! thanks again Jeff
Great Stuff! Thanks so much! I tried this for a pet memorial on slate, but forgot that I would need to invert the image to look like a "negative" since the slate is dark. My work would have been OK on wood, so I'll have to review how to invert the image.
Make sure that you do threshold instead of grayscale, it works much better. So manipulate the picture and threshold, then save it as a BMP delete the file bring it back in and then trace it. Thanks for the comment.
It actually works better if you use the threshold instead of like grayscale. I meant to show threshold. Then once you have done threshold, save it as a BMP file, and then import it back in and it works fantastic.
I tried step by step and I didn't gt the same results in version 1.7. You are using version 1.5. I thought that with the newer version that I would still get the same results. Please help.
Sir your video is on point, no music in the background, no useless video intro graphics. Thank you.
I'm not sure what I like more. The process or the example photo you chose. well done sir.
Are you GEH ?

what power and speed would be best for this type of engraving with a 10 w laser
i’m not sure, buddy, I have an 80 W laser. But I’m sure someone will answer.
