One of my favorite things about Saibamen is according to Kakarot rogue populations of them just sorta roam the planet after the Saiyan Invasion. Could you imagine being some random dude going on a walk in the woods and running into one of them?
@@kingbeef66I think the Cell Jr.s have more influence from Namekian DNA, specifically the ability to produce offspring asexually and without needing to be raised (as seen in the Piccolo Daimao arc).
@@Jamseth_Ingramious That, but the Saibamen could still have some influence on the Cell Jrs, since they look like a kind of offshoot version of them combined with Namekian spawning. I mean Cell took Namekian regeneration and evolved it to be more practical with a combination of zenkai boost and Frieza's durability to overcome the setbacks to it when it comes to regular Namekian regeneration.
I think when it comes to ki attacks some of them have properties that make them more powerful than the base power of the user. For example Krilin tried to trick Nappa into taking the destructo disc head on, which would have killed him Vegita had to warn him to dodge and later on Krillin was able to cut of 2nd form Frieza's tail and Frieza was forced to dodge all of the discs launched at him after that. So I think that the long time Piccolo spent charging up the special beam cannon acted as a force multiplier.
It’s extremely worth noting that “cultivar” is just a fancy word for domesticated plant. If that’s not just weird translation, it definitely implies less “bio android” and more GMOs. Because, yeah, lol, we have non-evil-anime biotechnology IRL. It is both true that Europeans discovered corn on a faraway continent, and that the corn on my plate is the product of genetic engineering.
Love when im watching a Dragon Ball Z video and it ends up getting into a philosophical conversation about meaning and wants and how that's entirely relative from organism to organism. Alright buddy that's a sub from me.
Def an interesting dbz youtuber. Every time i watch your videos i learn a lot, as someone whos been watching vid essays about dragon ball since i was a kid. Your most likely gonna explode soon just remember us lmao
Also interesting how later on Dr. Geri mentions hat he focused to much on the infinite energy model and rounds to 17 and 18 and it’s pretty much speculated that those androids were too powerful to control. BUT the Bio-men had lower power levels than the Saibamen yet were more controllable and smarter too. Especially considering DBZ Movie 2 might be a timeline where they defeated the Saiyans without deaths (or maybe Goku just went to train on King Kai’s alive and the DBs never got used) taking place after the battle with the Saiyans happens in that movie (in which there was a flashback too).
in one of the games, Frieza claimed that saibamen were rather handy creatures and sometimes even more helpful than his own foot soldiers since Saibamen obey no matter what and unlike foot soldiers, they don't usually tend to cower in fear
Why didnt he replace everybody with them then? He's stronger then anything that might give saibamen a challenge, just cleanup whatever planet destroyed a saibaman and be done with it
@@youtubestudiosucks978 idk maybe because they cost money to make... they are after all bio engineered creatures supposedly... or maybe they were saiyan inventions and for that alone he may indirectly despise them despite their usefulness? Also they only know how to fight and kill ... they are most likely too unintelligent to obey orders that dont include fighting or killing such as "inform the ginyu force" or "find and collect those dragonballs" or "find a village and report back once you do" ... saibamen would be completely useless for carrying out such orders
So with all of this information we can conclude that they could be a combination of both Origins. And the weakest version of the Saibamen being from that planet and the other being modifications of them.
Saibamen could be colonial species which means each body is actually a colony of other organisms communicating with each other. Such things exist on the Earth, in Oceans for example.
Hey you missed a good point there when you brought up the mechanical versions from the film: It is ofc an alternate timeline but it further supports your theory that evil Earth scientists would use their likeness and/or take inspiration from them.
Maybe when they explode, they release those seeds Nappa used to plant them. They are plant based, and an explosion is a great way to scatter more seeds. We don't have proof of this, but it would make sense as to why the one that killed Yamcha was so willing to blow itself up. The Saiyan could then just harvest those seeds and get more Saibamen, its win-win.

The explanation of the saiyans discovering them makes more sense, since Freza explained that the monkeys obtain their technology from their conquest.
yeah i guess Nappa might have swiped them from any of the planets they razed
Good vid, but you forgot to even mention the Saibamen's signature laffy taffy happy dance

@@ManicOpake What does the time matter? It's funny as hell
@pooheadz189 I feel like I'm the only person who remembers WTS. I miss that channel so much
Nappa likes pokemon. Its canon.
I always felt that Saibamen were precursors to the Cell Jr.
exactly!
They might’ve been, since Dr Gero’s tracking device might’ve sampled their cells for Cell to use to spawn as the Cell Juniors.

Plants are something Saiyans like its weird but the two races work together alot

As if he stacked multiple beam cannons on top of itself
I kinda want to see a Red Ribbon army video because of how much unusual opponents they have, like that pink thing that was weak to cold
Biggest scam is them being as strong as raditz but not used by frezza as an easy army
Considering they were Saiyan weapons, there might not have been much more of them left.
I mean they're probably not as obedient as Frieza's actual subordinates
@@Josuhyeah they probably have limited mental capacity compared to subjugated alien races
@@Josuh maybe they dont have long lifespans
they seem to be unable to fly and cant shoot ki attacks or operate the blasters
also Frieza might hate having to rely on space monkey's tech

True, the manga could be brutal

I used to wonderd why sagas had saibamen as cell's henchmen and now it makes perfect sense ❤
I like your channel, informative.
Perhaps they were found on another planet and the saiyans modified them
Yep, that was my theory on the ones we see in the manga!
this guy legit trying to make science out of a manga/anime where the creator just makes shit up along the way.
Well Toriyama mentioned the science so, yeah
Keep it up. This channel will eventually explode into popularity 😎

Their plants that hatch from seeds when put in the dirt, that would make them grass/steel type pokemon
