    I'm a TVPaint guy, but I had to use Animate on a couple projects last year. I really like the ability to animate with vector lines, but coloring was very finicky. Pros and cons to every program.

    Thank you for being clear and concise without any overly loud annoying background music.
    Only thing I would say that would make this better is, slow down about 10% when you are talking, just a little too fast.
    This video is 10/10 still, would recommend.

    I'm about four videos in now but this is exactly what I've been looking for! Devon is a great communicator, super-organized and logical, and he paces his information in a way that a newbie like me can feel like I'm getting a handle on this stuff as I go along. I can't recommend Devon's channel highly enough for anyone that's new to Adobe Animate!! Thanks Devon!!

    Hi there. So, after seeing this and some of your other tips videos recently, I can identify myself as someone who's been wanting to learn animation on Adobe Flash years ago and eventually wanted to try other softwares, like Clip Studio Paint and Toon Boom for animation.
    By the way, I recently graduated from digital animation last year, so I might as well get started with the animated content.

    Hi Devon, I've been animating for a couple years using Adobe Animate, but have been looking to get that 'natural hand-drawn' look rather than the crisp vector style. Do you have any recommendation for other programs that might work to help achieve this, or any other alternatives? Hello Davon and congratulations for these videos, you are an excellent teacher (this is very rare on the internet), and it is a pleasure to watch your videos.
    I am a french freelance illustrator and animator, I have been using Animate for 20 years (Flash Macromedia etc...) and I do not find any equivalent in terms of simplicity, speed (zero calculation time etc...) and range of tools... I just regret that Adobe does not make real updates and does not give the attention it deserves to this magnificent software.
    At the end of the video you talk about problems and bugs on Animate but apart from a few minor bugs I don't really see what you're talking about... what are you thinking about?

    Adobe animate is the most confusing piece of software I've ever tried. It's been 3 years and I simply do not know how to draw ANYTHING on that software. In Adobe illustrator I can make anything, but in animate the stupid "object drawing" has completely crushed my confidence in learning how to draw in the software. Toggling object drawing on/off changes the settings between the two so much that I feel so confused to the point of hurting myself by repeatingly smashing my desk !!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

    Phineas and ferb, Powerpuff girls are done with toon boom harmony, like most big productions for tv shows and cartoon movies. (simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad, Rick and Morty, bob's burgers, animaniacs, King of the hill, sponge bob squarepants, Looney tunes back in action, My little pony the movie, Mulan II, Jungle Book 2, Klaus, big mouth, paradise pd, inside job, etc etc etc etc)
    Some shows started with Flash (e.g. the pilot, or season 1), but quickly went to toon boom for more pleasant bone system (with deformations), z depth, better organisation, better brushes and precision and the nodes system. toon boom harmony a defacto choice for a reason

    Hey this is a great video! finally some examples, i couldn't find anything... thank you!
    just a question though, how do you know all those great animations were created with Adobe animate? is this for sure?

    • @devonkong
      @devonkong  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've only included animations that I'm 90% sure were created in Adobe Animate! Either based on my experience working on the show, interviews with the creators, or information listed on official websites.
      It's worth keeping in mind that sometimes a show changes software during production. So you might find that Season 1 was made in Adobe Animate, season 2 in another software, the special edition movie in another, and so on
      Hope that answers your question!
