Everyone is teaching modelling, texture, and lighting, but no-one is teaching about human body rigging and animation hope to see proper character modeling and animation with facial expressions and controller ❤❤❤
We have many tutorials on animation in Maya, but you are the only one on character animation in Blender. Thank you very much! This is a very useful lesson! Please continue!
I search the ocean of youtube and found you are the best professional teacher for beginners regarding animation & rigging, 1) best channel for modeling --> there are many channels 2) best channel for rigging --> Alex on story & other rigging channels (machine, robots, heavy machinery, insects) 3) best channel for animation --> one and only Alex on story
Thank you Marko! Happy to hear that! Yes, will take a look at putting a rigging tutorial together. Since I am not a pro rigger it'll take me a bit longer to put that together.
High quality tutorial. Clear, concise, not rushed (as so many are) and an instructor with a pleasant presence and no overbearing ego (as even more are). I will definitely explore your other videos. Thank you for this positive experience!
Oh, this reminds me of the old Maya tutorial by Jason Busby (may he rest in peace) with the talented ball. But way more advanced. With blender finally having a good UI, I might actually give this a try. You are well-spoken without all that usual over the top TH-camr shenanigans, really refreshing.
Thank you for this. Your clear and well thought out explanations for each step make your videos a pleasure to watch. After watching a few of your vids recently, I’m starting to become a lot more comfortable in the graph editor. I’m excited to download your ball rig and start playing with it.
Finally found a blender tutorial set I can stay engaged with. This is great, thank you for this. I appreciate how thorough you are with your workflow. The biggest hurdle to learning any complex program is navigating the UI without thinking about it and I feel like I'm moving around Blender much better after watching.
I am Arabic and I am not fluent in English. Thanks to this opportunity, I can benefit from the basic principles of teacher animation and understand them both theoretically and practically. The nice thing is that this is present in our beloved program. A teacher who deserves support.
Awesome vid. Thank you so much for sharing this valuable knowledge, you're a godsend for us early learners out there. I'm going to give it back : 38:40 : Passe-partout is a word of French origin that literally means 'goes through everything'. Usually means either a key that opens all locks within a specific setting, or in the art field it refers to the black framing around paintings that started around the 16th century (which is obviously what the term within Blender is referring to). And it's really easy to pronounce, actually. 'Pass partoo', the 'T' is silent, like it's often the case in French words. Hope that helps. Keep the amazing content coming, and thank you so much for what you do.
Sir, I just want to let you know that your videos have been very helpful to me. They're enriched with high quality information in a every unique way. Thank you so much for what you do.
Easiest animation tutorial to follow for beginners. Also, I just want to ad that using a ball instead of a human was better choice to animate. I can't believe this is free bro.
I really was looking for a tutorial like this to learn animation fundamentals and voila! Thanks again. I hope you continue making these stuff. By the way, instead of using "Camera to view" I just decide my camera view while freely roaming and then I press "Ctrl+Alt+0". That shortcut snaps the camera to your view and then you can continue to free roam without pressing any button. I find it faster this way.
23:19 About the tool keys. There's a setting in the keymap preferences to activate the tool rather than activating the operator immediately. I'm sure now you're accustomed to using the spacebar, but for others, it's not needed to achieve the same effect. That said, having the option to go G to move something really quick is always nice, so I completely understand wanting to keep both
Thank you! I didn't know about that. I'll look into it. The spacebar tools was the only thing I could come up with, so I could keep it somewhat like Maya and use the gizmo.
Great to see you make a new tutorial. Although I personally would like you to focus on more advanced stuff like the character animation series you did. Those were absolute gold for me and I watched them multiple times. Gave me enough courage to start animating my own character. I made 3 attack animations for my game and all of them came out descent enough. So thanks a lot...
That is so awesome!!!! Good for you! Yes I'll get back to making more advanced tutorials. I'll finish this beginner series then move on to something meatier. Thanks for your note!
This is amazing thank u, i know nothing about animation but this is a very simple tutorial to follow so im learning bunches of things. Thanks for doing this tutorial.
Great tutorial, the only thing I had difficulty with was that when I first downloaded the rig I was using Blender 3.6, the balls and graph editor showed up fine but not the rig. I upgrade to 4.1 and then everything was ok. Just thought I would mention it in case anyone else is having the same problem. Really well explained tutorial. Subscribed.
Same story but im using 4.1 and i still can’t see the Ball. Im only seeing the rig. I tried using 3.1 and every time i open the file Blender is closing
@@activemotionstudio1820 I have actually gone back to 3.5, which for me seems to be the only version where all my add ons work ok. I bought the hard ops/ box cutter bundle last year but if I try and use it in 4.1 it crashes Blender straight away, yet it was ok in 4. I don't think it's my specs as I have 64 g of Ram and a pretty good gpu. Bit of a mystery.
You look like professional animator.... Sir can you please make the video of human body rigging Full concept its the most difficult part of blender animation
as always nice tutorial, I grabbed my graphics tablet which was lying and gathering dust and started using for blender, it feels very healthy for my hand but a little bit uncomfortable at first, made my shortcuts for navigation, now I need to get used to it
Great tutorial just like all the other other ones but i think i might speak for the majority of beginners that when we start animating, we use reference videos and often find ourselves stack on how to use the principles and other things you teach on a reference video. In the future please make tutorials on how to animate using a reference video
51:29 ease in 53:29 sharp at beginning 53:46 scaling the handle 55:26 copy and paste this curve to use later 55:52 make the rotation frames 56:04 shift + H to hide all attributes except the x axis 1:01:00 cool the contacts with the floor 1:02:40 creating the spacing animation 1:04:11 impo 1:07:01 option + G to reset the values on translates 1:07:23 impo bookmarks
Very well explained. A bit fast in places but that’s just due to my unfamiliarity with Blender. Starting to make sense now as I pause and try/play with the tool. This is probably to be expected with any new tool I’d guess!!
May Allah Bless you abundantly.Keep teaching teaching courses that are worth 1000s of dollars and do so knowing that people like me, who teach themselves filmmaking, will forever make noise with your name. So far you are the best channel who teaches professional animation in Blender.
Have a question please: Just before each bounce, would the ball stretch or remain the same? It squashes, on impact, and then the rebound would elongate the shape. But prior to the bounce? OR is that an animation quirk? To add emphasis and visually make it look more appealing? Just keen to understand the pre-bounce shape and what we did in the tutorial :)
Great question! Yes typically you'll have a stretch frame just before the contact pose. I like to have about 2-4 frames of the ball stretching to it's longest shape before the squash contact pose. Hope that helps!
Because Blender provides for real-world measurement units, you can use real-world physics and math to calculate the actual rotation rate of the ball based on its radius/circumference and its speed through space.
Nice video, i saw that you went to to object mode to change the animation key set . But you can more easily change it in the timeline, if you go to the keying option in the timeline menubar this option is always available as long as you have the timeline in the viewport.
Real quick note for anyone struggling with the handles of the keyframes not working in the graph editor. Turn off Proportional editing in the GE. I couldn't get only one handle to move without moving everything for the longest time. But i figured it out! New to blender so idk if that button is turned on automatically or not. Goodluck!
