- At 8.15pm on Friday, September 5 1997, the body of Princess Diana was taken from St. James's Palace to Kensington Palace the evening before her funeral. The Prince of Wales and Prince William and Harry followed the hearse. Tens of thousands stood along the route in near silence as rain fell with the darkness illuminated by thousands of flash bulbs. Commentary by Dermot Murnaghan and Nicholas Owen.

I cried most of the week when princess Diana died. I think all of the UK went into mass mourning for a beautiful lady that was loved by the nation and will never be forgotten. Rip princess Diana xx

It was a true life changing week. A most peculiar, almost paranormal atmosphere settled on the whole Country and affected people everywhere. Those who were not born then really have no idea how weird and dirty it was. All our hearts were shattered and we were all in profound shock . It was a very odd, very moving, very sad, very special and very strange week for us all..... We went through the wringer for sure. For those of us who experienced it, it can never be forgotten...not ever.
Still makes me cry after all these. She was probably loved more than anyone else in the world. GOD BLESS PRINCESS DIANA. What awful loss for the whole world.

It takes two to tango. Princess Diana had couple of affairs of her own. People are still wondering if Prince Harry is the son of Prince Charles. All these years later and it’s as incredible today as it was so many years ago. I’ve been watching old videos of her doing her work etc and the way people adored her was intense. I had forgotten what an absolute phenomenon she was. Watching Nelson Mandela visit her gravesite at Althorp and stating his complete devastation at her death was amazing.
The throngs of people tells the story. Quiet with no apparent problems. Wow

Caz PK Unfortunately she was no longer a member of the Royal family after her divorce.
That meant she was not entitled to official security.
The Queen did offer security but Diana refused it due to Diana being paranoid about her movements being reported back to Charles and the Queen.

Just after loosing her HRH title then this happens, so I strongly believe that someone did this badly killing the Princess of Wales. I feel pity for her loved boys, William and Harry. And now, her two boys are not in peace which their Mummy won't allow had she been still around.
Princess Diana's remains left the mortuary after her remains had been embalmed and the body prepared by the undertakers. She was transferred to the Chapel Royal at St James Palace in London on the Monday after her death. There her remains were left in repose. On Friday 5th September 1997 it was transferred to Kensington Palace to be ready for the long funeral procession the following morning. Originally they planned to do this transport late at night, but they changed their minds, as they knew photographers would catch them

Most people are unaware that there was an autopsy done on her body - this is legally necessary and it was done in England
i always thought how disgusting the crowd was taking flash photos of the hearse. Not very dignified at all. A bit like the journalists were doing as they chased her to her death. Crowd should have stood there quietly not used it to get a picture.
Strange, in his book Harry recollects seeing the Union Jack on the coffin. I very much doubt that they removed the Royal Standard, put on the Union Jack and then replaced it with the Royal Standard again. He must be wrong.

She paid a very heavy price to accept the divorce sentence placed upon her by then pronce Charles for the sake of Queen Camilla today. So MM & Harry is now taking over this vengeance fiercely. He really really loves his mum Di. It's too sudden & at age 12 he was left alone to deal with his mixed emotions & personal confusion. No one to really comfort him. Camilla comforted Charles. What I find incredibly strange is that it took the ambulance 1.5 hours to get Diana from the wreck to the hospital. That should have only taken 10 minutes tops!
When you are transporting a woman whose heart had been torn to pieces in the crash, and who was having multiple heart attacks whilst in the ambulance - you do not drive like Lewis Hamilton in F1, you drive as slow as possible, to avoid killing the patient in the back.
