When I watched him at Oregon I knew this kid had a lot of potential, with all the older QBs retiring and getting old I love the new class of QBs the last 3 years, so much good football to look forward to
They didn’t even use his full potential at Oregon either. Only in the rose bowl did he show a bit of his ability to take over the game. Also a duck fan, and sheldon grad, I was not high on him for his first 3 years. Being spoiled by mariota, maybe that’s what I expected but he surpassed marcus mariota in almost every way. Impressive young man, I met him briefly on the golf course in Eugene and he’s still just a local kid. Really cool to see him do well

Not happening! The broncos and the chiefs are better than the chargers in that division! Remember what i said later this year! as long as people stay healthy on those two teams and denver gets good enough QB play with no turnovers!
It's cool watching him in the weight room and on the field working out at Sheldon HS. Same place my sons worked out and played. It feels good for everyone in the Sheldon neighborhood, for the most part we're all Irish, Ducks, and now we're Chargers. It's a nice feeling.
I went to Springfield High and my Millers always got absolutely whooped by Herbie and the Irish haha (we’re the same grad year. I never played in hs though) except for one season when we beat them in the regional round of the state tournament. Even still, it makes me very happy to see him in the NFL doing so well

I didn't know the Millers had beat Sheldon, they've been really good for 20 years or so. The Johnson brothers are gone now, new coaches, they may not be as good now. Those guys were good coaches.

I remember Justin in middle school (Monroe Middle School) always humbled, focused and nice to everyone. He spent no time on girls, but instead being a better student and athlete. Glad he went to the UO as that's every kids dream in Oregon. Even more happy he's close to home in the NFL so he can see his family and friends in the off seasons in the best state there is.
Only the smart students stay away from alcohol drugs and girls during high School and concentrate on their studies and how to be a better player I never played football before never have but I was an excellent student in high school straight A's and I didn't have a girlfriend neither back in school I didn't lose my virginity when I was a teenager I lost it when I got married but it all worked out because I'm now established with a good life.

Couple that with Covid and an LA team that was talented but needed time, I was leaning on the fact that the situation was greater than the player. All in all though, he's brushed up alot of his game and that really just comes down to the LA coaching staff.

College QBs have no control over the talent the school is able to recruit and the scheme they run. The past 6 or so seasons for Herbert he’s had to learn new systems from different head coaches and offensive coordinators including at Oregon, you have to give him credit where credit is due, he’s a hard working kid who loves learning and getting better.
