@Barclay Pierre élève Dude baker missed two games, and Herbert missed one game. Herbert still had 4 more TDs. Do you think Mayfield would get 5 TDS in one game in his rookie season? Also, Mayfield had more interceptions in fewer games so your argument kind of backfires on you. Do your research before saying Baker "hands the ball" Mayfield is better than Justin Herbert.
Do you ever consider the impact of a player's major in college when evaluating their potential performance? Herbert got a biology degree with a 4.01 GPA. All of these athletes have to split their time between school and football, so if you see a player who is doing very well in school on top of showing flashes of brilliance in game, it might be worth considering that once they get out of college and can focus on the game 100 percent, they would likely improve more than you might expect otherwise.

Ain’t gonna lie. I thought he’d be mediocre. I’ve never had a reason to believe in Oregon duck QB’s. Boy was I wrong. Kid is a stud. Imagine if mike Williams played to his potential. If they get another stud wr and a good rb backup they are gonna be good for a while.
We need an OLine, Mike Williams was battling injuries, and Keenan didn’t play the back half of the season. That didn’t stop Herbert from actually playing more efficiently near the end of the season, cutting down on turnovers and having a higher completion percentage while throwing to Jaylen Guyton (rookie), Tyron Johnson (practice squad), and Donald Parham Jr. (6’8” TE). But the OLine was ranked dead last according to PFF and was 30th in run blocking and 32nd in pass blocking. OLine is the main priority, and then upgrading the secondary is the next. Other than that, the roster is really good. We have Herbert, Ekeler (who is more of a receiving back, but I’m curious to see what rookie Joshua Kelley can do out of UCLA), Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, Guyton, Tyron Johnson, Hunter Henry, Donald Parham. It starts with the OLine.
@@jaylonbrooks4992 Not really the defense was just hurt and Stupid ass Bradley just played cover 3 all game. They do need to rebuild the Cbs where just too old in the secondary.
Herbert has proven himself to be a stone cold killer. Finding out you're gonna start seconds before you're on the field & still playing out of your mind was proof enough, not just the 2020 season as a whole. He'll be fine as long as the OC & quarterbacks coach continue to help him out.
I’m so happy to see Herbert’s success even tho I’m a bengals fan and a lot of people like to compare Herbert and burrow when both of them did great and will have good careers.
Herbert definitely surprised me. I said I would hesitate to draft him first round because of those passing concerns, but he's one of those players that might be better in the NFL. Im happy to see it.
Update: herbo in his second season was 5th on the MVP race and had the most comeback 4th quarter wins in the leauge with 41 total TDs and 14 ints. Broke multiple sophomore QB records and the chargers were 9-7 with a new coach and the worse rated defense, needless to say if we get a defense we’re going to the SB
I was sitting at the left corner of the north end of the end zone at the Rose Bowl last year, I had doubts about him before that game, but I came out a believer, he destroyed my Badgers defense and pretty much won that game single handedly, I knew he would be good in the NFL after that.
I am a Ducks fan and seem to remember feeling something similar when I watched Russel Wilson play my Ducks in the Rose Bowl. I knew without a doubt Wilson would be a stud in the NFL.. Badgers and Ducks are quietly putting together a little rivalry. Lol
Herbert is one of the most experienced players when it comes to coaching changes. One great thing about Justin is that he's a learner who comes from a learning family. Herbert embraces new opportunities to learn and new coaches are simply new opportunities for learning. Expect Justin Herbert to focus on all new experiences to obtain all the right stuff!
I'm super glad I got into football this year -- the depth, complexity, and drama of the sport on and off the field makes following it one of the best parts of my day

@@1337b3nnyvav00m Josh Allen is a decent comparison FACT Lock had PLENTY of opportunities to play better. Just because those GREAT qbs got better dosent mean HE will. Do we gotta name all the bust qbs that get drafted that never panned out? Hebert and Burrow had TERRIBLE olines and played at a high level.
@@1337b3nnyvav00m Peyton is a once in a lifetime player. Lock is not. Peyton got drafted to bottom tier team that was on the verge of possibly moving again if things didn't pan out like they did to the city of Baltimore decades earlier and he turned it around his 2nd year by taking Indy to the playoffs. Farve was a late round pick on a team that didn't know what to do with him. Allen is an ok comparison. Lock had a more stack team than most of these guys. How did Denver go from four straight AFC west champion 2 SB to missing the playoffs 5 straight years? Lack of consistent QB plays and Lock isn't doing anything to end it. in fact if he fails next year. you can add him to the long list of fail Denver QB since Elway and Peyton's retirement. Lock is more Cutler minus the selfishness.
I lived in Eugene for his junior and senior year. Have a video of him throwing a td against bowling green right up the seam for a 40 yard TD. I’ve been blessed to see Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Derek Carr Cam Newton, Phillip Rivers, all in person. Justin throws the ball better than all of them except Rodgers. Herbert’s arm talent is all time great. One of my closest friends was iffy on him coming on his Chargers taking him but I assured him he would be great if he had some time to grasp the speed of the NFL game, I never thought he would be what he was right out the gate. Hopefully he continues his success and has a long healthy career.

i have watched Justin Herbert for his four years of collage and i have watched his high school tape and i saw some flaws but what held him back was the play calling my ducks were doing cause not only did he go through 3 oc's he went through 3 head coaches but i was not blinded by any flaws or any glamour and i new that he would be a star, i could not see how people bashed on him it showed they had no knowledge of football, they would cherry pick throws to fit their narrative and avoid the fact in those games he also crushed the opposing team and threw 50 to 60 yard bombs on dimes, or that the one loss they had in conference his last year was because the defense had a really bad game which was unusual during that season, and even though he struggled a bit at the end he threw 3TD's in the 4th quarter and almost brought them back, his talent on the field was there for everyone to see they just didn't want to. The only reason we see so many qb's be labeled as busts is that the media want a narrative to drive controversy they don't actually give a dam if there accurate at all. Even though Oregon is my school, and i bleed yellow and green when you see talent on the field regardless of there school or division treat the athletes with the respect of showing the whole truth look at small school successes like Kahlil Mack out of Buffalo.
As a chargers fan it’s crazy to me that he essentially shattered every rookie QB record and there was almost no buzz about it. And as a chargers fan... I understand.
it’s because he’s really shy and quiet. Jefferson is much more vocal and flashy with the dances and stuff and gets more buzz because of it. Imo it’s a unanimous for herb to win oroty
I'm happy for him. Hopefully he doesn't regress and let the defensive adjustments to him in season two affect him too much. He was a big question mark for me coming into this season, I wasn't down on him or up on him. Good to see him get a lot more consistent from his Oregon days. He put the work in.
The box to put him in: Kid had an absolutely insane rookie season and we don't know whether he'll go up, down, or stay about the same from here on out.
Had the pleasure of seeing this man play throughout High School, to the Ducks and now the pros. Can’t wait for next season. First time Season Ticket holder for our home state hero! And i’m not even a Chargers fan lol.
I jumped on the Herbert train when I saw him interviewed on the Pat McAfee show before the draft. I knew that he was going to be good. As such, I decided to watch him wherever he ended up. Luckily it was on a team I already liked.
8:50 "the coaching staff that believed in and developed him." Yeah... what? I mean, I'm a Chargers fan so I might know more of the details, but Lynn refused to name Herbert as the starter until Week 5. He even said "he's a backup for a reason" about Herbert. I bet other members of the coaching staff like Pep Hamilton probably believed in him, but that was never the case for Lynn.
This man was BY FAR the greatest rookie QB of all time. The fact that he was not only the first to throw for at least 30 TDs, but did it without even starting every game is unfathomable.
I... don't know how to describe this feeling. A positive video about my Chargers that isn't related to LT? Why I... haven't seen such a thing in years!!!
Not necessarily Tua is left handed and with no off season he could have weapons everywhere and still not be as successful Vick ran for a reason when he first came in for a reason had Tua been right handed him and Herbert would have shattered records reason they drafted his wr
If the Chargers had had a defense as good as their offense was this year, they would have been in SB 56 at SOFI. If Staley and Telesco can build a decent defense this off season, there are many SB appearances in the ⚡️⚡️future. Signing Khalil Mack is one hell of a move in that direction.
I swear Justin Hervert is like a suped up Jeff Garcia. Crazy athletic, in a 6'6 frame with a canon for an arm. Love this kid's potential. As much as I love Coach Lynn. I felt he left his team, and this kid down, in some critical games last year (KC first start game that went into OT still baffles me). But let's see how his development continues to develop, in the upcoming years.
Mr. Set The Edge... Love your video! I like how you took your time and told a great story and with the highlights. Most importantly.. you chose not to play modern hip-hop in the background... video is A+++
as a Charger fan I was mix on Herbert being drafted but man am I glad we got ourselves another franchise QB after Rivers left, though sadly I'm still afraid we are going to waste him like we did with Rivers and Bree because for some reason we can never figure out wtf is game managment
Mine too. Not like my team sucked, I had Waller, Aaron Jones, Keenan Allen... Also Lamar, but he was kind of a mixed bag, and in the Ravens bye week I picked up Herbert and basically never looked back.
As a long time Charger fan, I must admit I initially I wanted them to draft Tua. Totally clueless of this kids potential, I watched him on Hard Knocks and seeing him shoved into the Chiefs game, I had no idea what a smart, talented and gifted QB Telesco drafted. I'm so excited for Herbert's future.
I think that him going through all of those offenses gave him the ability to play with anyone and that not having as good weapons around him taught him how to use them to the best of their ability and now he's just versatile
Bruh Philip rivers is a HOF I’d even argue first ballot. The chargers don’t really waste careers like players still pop off it’s just unfortunate luck 😭😭, if Tom didn’t exist Philip could have 1-2 under his belt but ya know.. I never doubted this kid! I wanted the Chargers to draft him even before March. The only thing that worried me were the Dolphins potentially selecting him over Tua. And it’s crazy how he was drafted by the team he grew up being a fan of.
Angelo Belen , my thoughts 100 % ! And might be the reason SO MANY Fins fans WERE hating on Herbert { ALL } season long , too . Even after BOTH teams were seating home & Justin WON the ROTY award ?

Set: In his ability to throw against PROFFESSIONAL defences
Also set: Shows Herbert against the Jets D higlights whil saying that
Gonna point out the 2 clips against the Jets and ignore the passes against the Chiefs, Bucs, and other good Defenses he showed... Why do you feel the need to be negative like that? no one twisted your arm and made you watch the video or even comment..

@@yourbrotherjoeproductions9326 OK, you dont even seem to understand what you yourself put in the OC. When you say Herbert was throwing against PROFFESSIONAL defenses, then say it was only the Jets, you are implying that he wasn't throwing against a PROFFESSIONAL defense.. Trying to negate what the dude in the video said. Even if it was "just a joke" its a bad joke and it didn't land at all... We all know the Jets were terrible, you feeling the need to say it in the way you did seems like you are trying to downplay Herbert and his abilities.. @@brutusvonmanhammer I hear ya brother
This kid is legit. He reminds me of a lot of top qbs. He can do a lot. He really doesn't have a style, he's hard to predict, and he's very good.
He sucked in college. Bottom line.
@@eliceicebaby5762 no yall need a defense.herbert put up 20-30 points almost everygame n yall still lost

10:12 is one of the most beautiful throws i
have ever seen.
SERIOUSLY! He’s got a cannon bro!
The timing and velocity on that ball is insane. The other angle is unbelievable
That was the best throw in all of NFL in 2020
I don't think mere mortals would have caught that ball without breaking fingers. That pass was incredible and you can hear it when keenan caught it.
Herbert has proven himself to be a stone cold killer. Finding out you're gonna start seconds before you're on the field & still playing out of your mind was proof enough, not just the 2020 season as a whole. He'll be fine as long as the OC & quarterbacks coach continue to help him out.
His college season sounds almost exactly like my Josh Allen lol which is pretty good considering Allen currently. Chargers fans should be VERY excited
I’m so happy to see Herbert’s success even tho I’m a bengals fan and a lot of people like to compare Herbert and burrow when both of them did great and will have good careers.
You guys got burrow bro!! You got a legit GOAT on your team I can’t wait for yours and our guys future ⚡️⚡️
yeah well Herbert looks a lot better than Burrow right now
They both look miles ahead of tua.
Herbert definitely surprised me. I said I would hesitate to draft him first round because of those passing concerns, but he's one of those players that might be better in the NFL. Im happy to see it.
Herbert had a poor offensive coordinator at Oregon.
That’s not insane to say that the kid is phenomenal talent and he’s not gonna waste it! Herbert will be just fine because he is a hard worker
Damn man, it’s so late and I was going to bed. But I guess it can wait
Same man😭
Update: herbo in his second season was 5th on the MVP race and had the most comeback 4th quarter wins in the leauge with 41 total TDs and 14 ints. Broke multiple sophomore QB records and the chargers were 9-7 with a new coach and the worse rated defense, needless to say if we get a defense we’re going to the SB
And look at us now. Khalil mack, SJD, austin johnson,JC jackson and extended mike williams! Definitely going to make a SB run if not playoffs ⚡⚡⚡
Lol
@@arcajeth626 indeed they are, hopefully next they meet it’s in the CFP
Herbert is one of the most experienced players when it comes to coaching changes. One great thing about Justin is that he's a learner who comes from a learning family. Herbert embraces new opportunities to learn and new coaches are simply new opportunities for learning. Expect Justin Herbert to focus on all new experiences to obtain all the right stuff!
Kinda reminds me of a former chargers QB who was slept on and went on to have a stellar career.

I'm super glad I got into football this year -- the depth, complexity, and drama of the sport on and off the field makes following it one of the best parts of my day
Broncos fans: give Lock time, he's still a rookie"
Justin Herbert as a 22 year old rookie. Shatters all rookie passing record in his first season with no off season and a pandemic.
Broncos fans need to cut the crap lol
Even Peyton Manning was trash his first couple seasons
Favre too. Josh Allen’s first year was trash and decent his second and an MVP candidate his third. QBs need time most of the time.
Hopefully he continues his success and has a long healthy career.
i was so wrong about this guy, I'm glad he proved me wrong
me too brother
@@skylarmason573 lol. So whatcha gonna doooooooo brother?! When Barthalamule, and his incorrect Qb prospect evaluations... runs wild on youuuuuuuuuuuuuu. Arhhh.
i have watched Justin Herbert for his four years of collage and i have watched his high school tape and i saw some flaws but what held him back was the play calling my ducks were doing cause not only did he go through 3 oc's he went through 3 head coaches but i was not blinded by any flaws or any glamour and i new that he would be a star, i could not see how people bashed on him it showed they had no knowledge of football, they would cherry pick throws to fit their narrative and avoid the fact in those games he also crushed the opposing team and threw 50 to 60 yard bombs on dimes, or that the one loss they had in conference his last year was because the defense had a really bad game which was unusual during that season, and even though he struggled a bit at the end he threw 3TD's in the 4th quarter and almost brought them back, his talent on the field was there for everyone to see they just didn't want to.
Well we know that a player will give the 100 percent when his plays on the team he always loved since their childhood
That is NOT Justin Herbert diving into the endzone. That is Marcus Mariota #8 BAWAHAHAHAHA
The chargers are one of my favourite young teams...I really look forward to seeing how Staley uses him
Staley used to play qb in college so I think this helps
The box to put him in:
Kid had an absolutely insane rookie season and we don't know whether he'll go up, down, or stay about the same from here on out.
Feels kind of good to be a Chargers fan with Justin Herbert at the helm
Chargers fans definitely deserve this for having to put up with Spanos, but I’m mad that Spanos gets to enjoy this too.
Had the pleasure of seeing this man play throughout High School, to the Ducks and now the pros. Can’t wait for next season. First time Season Ticket holder for our home state hero! And i’m not even a Chargers fan lol.
Every time I think herbert I think of how Brett Coleman was so off comparing him to trubisky
I jumped on the Herbert train when I saw him interviewed on the Pat McAfee show before the draft. I knew that he was going to be good. As such, I decided to watch him wherever he ended up. Luckily it was on a team I already liked.
As a huge Oregon fan, I’m glad he’s getting the love he deserves

I was at the 2019 PAC12 CG. We got there early and saw Herbert warming up. Just watching him warm up I had a feeling he'd be great in the NFL...
Proved me wrong, since I listened to "EXPERTS."🤦♂️🙄🤣 One of the times in my life that I was so glad in being proven to be wrong.
This man was BY FAR the greatest rookie QB of all time. The fact that he was not only the first to throw for at least 30 TDs, but did it without even starting every game is unfathomable.

So far Tua was supposed to be amazing Herbert was supposed to be a bust, and as of right now those roles have been flipped
Dolphins fans and GM wished they had Herbert over Tua. No cap everyone is open on that Alabama offense with a top 10 Oline

Bro why at 3 I got school tomorrow
I think that him going through all of those offenses gave him the ability to play with anyone and that not having as good weapons around him taught him how to use them to the best of their ability and now he's just versatile
especially since he's a literal genius too. lombardi was also the best oc candidate available, hope him and herb get cookin
I’m scared that LA is gonna waste his career like Rivers
Bruh Philip rivers is a HOF I’d even argue first ballot. The chargers don’t really waste careers like players still pop off it’s just unfortunate luck 😭😭, if Tom didn’t exist Philip could have 1-2 under his belt but ya know..
