Great review! I really like the JBL’s. Both buds have a different sort of sound which doesn’t seem to be duplicated by the other. I like the fit and the NC better with the Sony’s. I guess it boils down to mood and how you want to hear music at the time. Sony’s are my go-to right now…

I have to admit as an XM4 owner I’m disappointed in the mic on the XM5. I had high expectations considering the Linkbuds had a fantastic mic. Keep up the great work and congrats on 2k subs!

Im considering the JBL set as its on sale, but I'm not sure if i should go with that or the Galaxy buds2 pro
That's a tough choice. If you're in the Samsung ecosystem, I would go with the Galaxy Buds2 Pro, for sure.
@@ronontech Thanks for the reply. I'm a pixel user so I don't get the extra Samsung features, though the gbuds price seems more appealing now anyways. The only thing that has me still considering the JBL set (screen gimmick and battery life aside) is that I've heard the ANC is considerably better, though none of the major publishers (rtings, techpowerup, soundguys) have posted objective measurements on ANC performance or FR, and don't seem to have much interest in doing so.
Which one do you suggest for electronic music? The layers of music and a bit base is important to me. Thanks 🙏
In this case, I think the Tour Pro 2 would give you the best sound.

Glad you like them! I have to disagree with you. The XM5 with the 'Find My Equalizer' sound better. The Opera05 is a sweet pair of earbuds.

Hi! First of all, as far as I understood, a very good review, but I have a question that I hope you can help me with. Currently, I have the WF-1000XM4, which I like, but it's time to replace them. The issue with these headphones is that I had battery problems after some time of use, and I saw that it's something recurrent with Sony headphones (the same thing happened to me with the WF-1000XM3). The thing is, I know that Sony's ANC is unparalleled, but even so, how is the sound quality of the JBL? Would you recommend going for them anyway? Or is it better to go directly for the Sony WF-1000XM5?
I had the same battery issues with the XM3s & XM4s. But I do believe (so far) that the XM5s have resolved that issue. Between these two, I would go with the XM5. Although the Tour Pro 2 are good, but the XM5 is better.

What are tips for xm5 that you recommend? And which tips did you use in this video?
For me, I use the SpinFit eartips. Currently, I have the OMNI versions on my XM5s and the CP1025 on my Tour Pro 2s.
@@ronontech do those tips have mesh? Xm5 nozzle doesn't have mesh, this is quite my concern

With the 'Find My Equalizer' feature, the XM5 gives the most accurate sound, IMO.

I'm going to have to say here that since you didn't do turn on the Sony Spatial, then it's not apples for apples.. I suspect you would have got more depth and treble and lost some of the sustained bass you were bragging about..I suspect if you turned off the Spatial on the JBL pair, you would have noticed more bass (just having to guess here) and did I notice on your eq setting, you set the Treble all the way on the Sonys, and only just got the amount of treble you liked? I didn't see where you did finally set up the similar comparison.. Have you had a chance to yet?
I actually had Spatial Audio turned off on both earbuds. I set up my earbuds based on the best sound I get out of them. And then I compare them based on that. Everyone hears sound differently and has different tastes, and that's okay. As for the EQ settings in the XM5s, I used the Find My Equalizer tool in the app, and that was the result it gave me. I really liked that result and I've used it ever since.

I would go with the XM5s between these two.
I was thinking about gettimg the Sony Wfm5 but I heard the bass isn't really punchy.

The sony need an ultra bass like the WF-XB700 which I had and which were super good in bass
You used your same ANC Sony test as you have on other videos. You got to do a comparison with comparisons on the day, not use whatever day you tested each earbuds.
When they release an update that improves the ANC, I will do another ANC test. From my point of view, testing in this environment gave me the best results. If it can block out the sounds of everyday traffic while walking down the street, it will have no issues blocking out people's voices. Again, this is my opinion.
