I think I genuinely prefer DKR as a stand alone. The others are alright, but there’s a poetry and dynamic in the first one that makes me love it so much

Frank’s Batman is interesting tho. Sometimes stupid but the journey is crazy. He treated Robin so poorly.

@@aduckluck718 He felt that letting Robin grieve was a bad thing. The Miller Bruce Wayne wanted to treat Robin like a soldier not an adopted son. Robin grew up really messed up and never talked to Bruce again after quitting. Miller’s Robin also turns into a messed up Joker later.

More like redefined the limits of that friendship, two doctors taking on an injury/sickness, from two different points of view, one using NEAR lethal doses of strong medicine, while the other uses surgical techniques, to excise the malignancies from a body, one at a time! Both CAN work, but, those in power attempt to hold back both, unless they can use them! If the opposite side starts leaping ahead, it makes the people in power look stupid, fir NOT doing what they could to stop some of it!
Dark Knight Returns is a Masterpiece.
Dark Knight Strikes again is awful.
Master Race is great.
Yeah, the second one needed some work, but the Flash made me like it a bit, but it is the worst one

What one hell of a way to bring 2019 to a close Benny
The artwork for this makes my head spin.... It's so surreal. Earth 31 is like some kind of fever dream. The characters kind of look familiar, so it hits uncanny valley for me.

I remember the first time I read "The Dark Knight Returns" it was freaking amazing as it's what brought me into reading DC graphic novels. However after inquiring about the second book I could not find a long time ago "The Dark Knight Strikes Again" asking the owner of a local comic book shop he honestly said he could not recommend it. While I never read DK2 and didn't even know about DK3 thank you Benny for presenting all 3.
I guess I see now why the movies only covered the first part of this story...
The last part isn't bad, but it needs lots of cuts

Funny how it starts off as a simple easy-to-follow story then goes far into something wild. Never read this series and upon seeing this video at some point I said "what the hell is going on? How did we get here?". I can see now why people say frank lost his mind.
But the part where he lost his mind is so good!
I loved it, it was a shakey execution but a very solid idea I'd love to see how the world develops after this.
Best comic ever, I haven't read it in years but I cant wait. The creature snarls and tells me what I need and what I need is to reread this masterpiece.

TDKR really is one of the best graphic novels of all time. Pretty cool to see it narrated so well.
Really liked that little moment where Sups just.... pulls a Batman. Seems like an obvious thing he’s DK when having to deal with such strong folks over more punching.

Ummm... It's not meant to connect to Batman Beyond. I doubt there will be part 3.
I wish they had cast Michael Ironside as the voice of Bruce Wayne/Batman instead of Peter Weller. Apart from that, I love the Deluxe Edition of the movie that combines parts 1 and 2.

I loved strikes back! it brought the entire DCu in with Bruce playing a pivotal leadership role.
Thank you for bringing this compilation to us, CS. I think the story was epic, in each of the three books. However, one begins to have action burnout. I think this is the weak point in the trilogy's story. The Kryptonians of Kandor following their leader blindly shows how power (once gained) can corrupt, however, the bigger question is, why, after so many years entrapped would they turn around and do the same thing on Earth as was done to them? Ultimately, I feel the series was a good one, and am thankful for Frank Miller bringing the story to us. The lessons in each book sing loudly in their moral setting, and bring larger questions than there are answers for. Miller has done us a great service, regardless of opinion on the efficacy of his storytelling. Like my own work on A Golconda Story, ultimately, story is something that binds our human experience together.
I’ve actually never read the sequel books to The Dark Knight Returns. Thx! Full Stories are by far my favorite videos.

I really enjoyed this! The dark knight returns is one of my absolute favorites and as most people say I don’t care for strikes back but ok I’ll take it and the master race is pretty good so it’s definitely part of the saga now. So thank you comicstorian and a big thanks to Frank Miller!

I remember when I was younger I watched the Old Dark Knight returns movies but I never read the comics. But like 5 years ago I stared reading more comics and I remember reading Batman's War On Superman having no idea that it was related to the universe. I was so confused and that comic was so weird especially with Bruce. Like what the hell was I looking at.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn. I love this story
This comic was a pretty wild trip towards the middle but it added a lot of interesting elements and characters we don't see much of so it made it a fun read. (thankfully the end was alright)
not a big fan of the art at first, at least not when paired with these particular characters , but admittedly it finished strong in both the writing and art. overall a solid 8 out of 10! and of course your narration gets a perfect 1 out of 1! keep up the good work, king B and crew!

I think I’m the only one who enjoys Strikes Again. Miller didn’t want to return to Batman, but everyone demanded it, wanting another DKR. He said to them, “No, I was sentimental back when I was old.”
It is one of my all time favorites. Up there with Kingdom Come.

I actually liked it. Sure at since points it had way way WAY too much going on it kept me interested. Didn't like what they did to Dick becoming immortal joker it don't feel like something he would really do (.)
Every time i get hit in life, I come back to this trilogy of comics. I read this recently on a 36 hour train journey 2500km away from home and I feel happy that I discovered this. This always inspires me and makes me feel I can be so much stronger, against the odds. To every man out there fighting your demons, struggling against all odds, I would like to say that we men must suffer and fight back. I wish everyone strength in their journey. We will be the sons of Batman in our lives. Stay loyal, stay humble, fight a good fight and die a hero's death.
