Irish singers Emer Barry and Lynn Hilary met in college - two 'small voiced' sopranos training in classical voice and opera. While Emer pursued opera, Lynn embraced the more natural, celtic style of singing and became a soloist with Celtic Woman. Emer remained in the Opera world for a time, studying with English National Opera and performing small roles in Ireland. However, Emer and Lynn reconnected through their love of creating celtic and classical crossover music (Emer with Affiniti and Lynn with CaraNua) and decided to record something special together, a unique version of Silent Night, sung in Irish and fused with Brahms Lullaby. - เพลง
At 79 years of age, I believe this is the BEST version of Silent Night I've ever heard!
This sounds like a real Christmas song!! The angelic voices, the perfect arrangements..... Thats what real music is all about.

This was my dad’s favorite Christmas song. He could sing it in German and English. I remember sitting in church, candles glowing while our family joined in 4 part harmony for this beautiful hymn and weeping through our singing. What a beautifully angelic voice she has. I weep now

I had sung this tune in English, German & French. I have no idea how I knew the Gaelic verse upon the first hearing of this, singing along as it played. Perhaps from a previous life when it was sung to me or I sang it in school. Regardless, such a wonderful tune and marvelous artists... Thank You So Much. Your performance touched upon this soul and reminded him why he exists.

One of the most transformative experiences of my life was going to Oberndorf bei Salzburg one Christmas where this song was first performed to hear it sung in the church where it was first sung. Second to that is hearing it here in Eire, which I have never heard before, which is by far prettier than German, and a far greater angelic nod to this Christmas favorite. One of the best things that happened to Christianity was when it brought in the Irish. God Save Ireland!
Silent Night must be the most perfect sing ever. In my 60 years I've never heard it sung in any language that it didn't "fit" and want just as beautiful as it is in English or it's native German.

I was not sure what to expect, when I saw the title. Was expecting a “rendition” with a lot of “bettering” this Carole. But I really was wrong and very pleased to hear the simple song played as it was originally meant to be performed. Simple and with only a guitar (Harp here) thank you for honoring the composer.
