You missed the most clutch play, the SKYHAMMER, out of nowhere with the steel chair, routing the Fae at the end. With that 3 extra capture weight Bretonia might have clutched it
I can absolutely see a hotshot dwarf pilot bringing that engine to 110%, shouting: "our brothers need us on that hill!" While his gunner absolutely nails his machine gun into the bretonian witch

Absolutely! When I saw the Skyhammer heading towards the objective, I noticed Fae's health and PRAYED he'd target her. That right there was what stole the match.

Hey, I am a Dwarf player from this game. I didn't expect that Platypus will send this replay to you.
I am glad that people enjoyed this one. Grail Knights are really hard to counter (especially as a Dwarf) and Platypus is a good player so that was a hard fight.
I lost a lot of momentum after losing this Sky Hammer with almost full ammo and still 2 bombs left. Really fun and close game anyway.

Bretonnian won the fighting but they threw the game by rushing the dwarf spawn and letting a broken unit come back and take the objective.

Blows my mind that the dwarves ninja'ing the side objective with nothing but a dozen models and stubbornness kept the dwarf player in the game.
The true power of dwarves right there! They just can't move on from what they set out to do.

Buffs to Grail Knights are insanely good. Their biggest weakness was lack of armour piercing which is not an issue anymore. They also got splash damage now as well as ward save. They still have their perfect vigour making them worth the cost I think.
And they especially good against demons. Gail knights banish some furries like no tomorrow)
hyppogryf knights also got perfect vigour, magic attacks and 4 more models they are pretty insane now

If the Dwarfs' named caster character gets AP, so should Thorgrim.
I feel like most dawi lords and heroes should get some AP. But Thorgrim litterally has almost the same weapon as Gotrek, and he has AP.
@@IIIJG52 His weapon in campaign is also a joke. Gives +12 AP and single digit anti-large. It's got great logistical stats but otherwise, it's lackluster.
Here's hoping we'll see some nice changes for them when 5.0 comes around.

Absolutely. The presence of AP on a lord can be make or break. How many times has a lord been used more when they receive the AP ratio. Every patch I swear.
At around 5 minutes when those grail knights in lance formation charged straight through those dwarf warriors... I may have had a little bit of an accident.
The dawi being so stubborn is incredibly fun to watch.
Dwarves bouncing between lanes reminds me of early Heir of Carthage videos expounding on the importance of initiative in warfare.
Paladins STILL dont have ITP. Biggest SEM gripe thats been around since WH1 for me. Dude's are supposed to be the elite of knights who fight monsters, yet terror routs from monsters are their biggest weakness.

@@KartarNighthawk do they seriously not have that in campaign. That's rough. But in MP it's even a much more powerful of a passive ability.

Nick, you do realize that both grail knights and grail guardians are completely bugged now, right? They can phase through infantry, especially when in lance formation. Just fire up a skirmish against heavy halberd infantry and keep clicking behind them, your grails will sail through everything as if they are ghosts. That is also the reason why they did very little damage to those dwarf miners at 3:18 since many entities within the grail unit do not do any collision damage.
There is great reason to ban grail guardians and grail knights in tournaments if we do not get some hotfix soon, since they're already being abused online. They can just sail through a wall of spears to get to targets behind them, i.e. artillery or other precious units. Retreating an SEM into an infantry regiment will barely stop the knights now. I have to avoid greenskins, chaos dwarfs and bretonnia now since their roster all has bugged units that destroys balance.
Do TT winrates also record individual players' WR? If it doesn't, it could be a good idea to start, so as to have an additional data point : how much better do the best players do on X faction. For example, 60% WR in general doesn't necessarily mean much, because it might be that faction is played by good players exclusively ; but with several data points you can really discriminate between "easy factions", "high skill ceiling factions" and "OP factions"
Man, that's some data analysis, which should do CA's workers in a first place)
The number of grail Knight charges and disruption is insane, that MASS buff really made them into the lawnmower they are meant to be. Getting great Attila vibes from this Patch.

I mean, the bonus goes to waste, but if their stats are good regardless, then AP cav is AP cav. It's not like they get negatives for not fighting against large.

Its the same reason why halbadiers are used against dwarfs since ap is the most important stat, also grail cav have really good mass right now so they can cycle charge and use their charge bonus

Watching Slayers fearlessly charge head first into a full frontal Grail Knight charge means some oaths were DEFINITELY settled.
Alberic's giving strider out would have made the Grail knights able to bounce through the trees to different positions effortless.

That was one of the best games I’ve seen in a while. Both players made some mistakes but platypus letting his obj get ninjad was the deciding factor. Great stuff. Great players.

That might be the single closes game I've ever seen oh my god. The legendary dwarf ninja play was clutch, taking lessons from the skaven I see.

It's frustrating how weak cav still is in this game. One charge from grail knights should destroy a miner unit for sure.
I watch pka and one of the host taylor played warhammer multiplayer and matched up with platypus. Lol Its funny hearing how hopeless he felt the entire match and then watching platypus play and just imaging how i would do. Just trying my hardest but my army melts away 😂

@Turin Also Turin, they'd love to have you as a guest. They've said so multiple times. It's a bit of a mixed bag, though, so you never know what you'll tune into, so be warned lol
If fair Bretonnia wins, we win. If we lose, the dwarfs are satisfied and we win.

Absolutely insane match. Wonder if you could cut something from the dwarf build to have giant slayers instead of the regular ones? Though there is still the issue that bretonnia can choose their fights.

Holy shit I just realized. The Bretonnia Dwarfs match up has just become a lot more doable!! Grail Guardians can stay in combat and beat all dwarf infantry apart from Slayers. Grail Knights charges will now be quite effective versus the stuntys. The upgraded Royal Hippos will also be a lot scarier

I'd say that Grail Knights are worth the premium as they have 40 additional armour and perfect vigour over the Questing Knights.

Calling any faction in Warhammer the ‘good’ guys is a bit of a stretch! I’m any other setting they’d all still be the villains, but when your foes are the comically-evil Warhammer Chaos Gods…

I've been loving watching Turin's videos recently, and as a big fan of tabletop Warhammer, it's something I'm interested in playing. I've tried looking though, and I can never see domination games. How do I get started playing this game mode in multiplayer as a bit of a TW multiplayer noob?
Choose your faction and play its single player campaign first, or an Immortal Empires single player game. Once you're familiar with the mechanics of the faction, you're good to start multiplayer.
Grail knights are just amazing in lance formation. After your tests and the multiplayer community, what do you think, too much, or balanced?

One of the hidden advantages of this patch is, that peasents aren't expendable anymore. So their capture weight/gold cost is crazy effective.
Nah the Peasants Duty trait gives them expendable capture weight

I was really surprised that the dwarves had such a value lead when they had like, no AP versus a primarily heavy armor Bretonia, what did I miss there?
AP is overrated imo. They had some archers who do good damage regardless. Plus slayers with good BvL and a cannon etc.
