I still remember back in the haggard times of early 2020 while watching a Turin casted tournament, one of the old school multiplayer champs brought a double war wagon in his build and chat was baffled since they were considered a meme unit. The guy pulled it off though, fun battle.
I love taking 2 of the Hippo knights here. It seems like they're really good at supporting each other, since that's a unit you really don't want stuck in a blob, and also a unit that can lay a whole blob flat for a second.
This looked like a movie scene wherein the last minute the hero was able to rally the hesitant populace to his cause to overthrow the empire and a massive wave of reinforcements arrived. It's beautiful. 😢
It's a beautiful thing to see - Bretonnia putting the Empire in it's place. Fingers crossed for more Bretonnian content in the future - and when the Lady's knights take over an objective, stop calling it "disastrous"! You're supposed to be impartial! 😄
I love warhammer fantasy, because as these two classical human factions fight it out, somewhere in the same world, there are Egyptian mummies fighting zombie pirates.
That ending unleashing of the horde was epic,I felt like it was a LOTR movie. There was a brief chance of victory, and then the enemy hears a ROAR from the treeline and all hope dies with it.
I felt like when ever the hypos were on the ground they were in danger from the demi’s. He maybe should of used the land feature on franz to take advance of that could of been strong. Great game by both players.
They didn't so much get a buff rather than a bugfix. You see, for a long long while the War Wagons were wrongly assigned the regular Handgunner projectile. So each individual shot was firing using Handgunner damage values instead of its own. The moment their damage was reflective of what it said on the card, they dominated.
@@mariojorge68 That's only a part of it. On top of the projectile damage bugfix, they got buffed from 50 to 66 speed, which is a huuuge upgrade to their manoeuvrability. Any of these two changes alone would have made the War Wagons an okay unit, but those two changes combined made them as good as they are now.
@@fkaliases I don't think it's a broken hitbox actually. In warhammer 2 their was an issue where while chasing units moving at around the same speed entities wouldn't start attack animations because they weren't close enough. I think the old speed value just meant cav could consistently catch the wagons whereas now they can't consistently. Doesn't help that a lot of skirmish units don't lose vigor while firing.
I'd really wish I could chose other colour schemes in campaing... maybe when I confederate another faction I get the option to take their colours... some of the minor factions look so much better than the main ones
sometimes i wish you could bring unique units like the mistwalkers, blessed lizards or red state troops like the unbreakable greatswords or silver shield spearmen
I know it's technically possible but I meant for tournament use and such, I'd like to see how they perform and some they would bring some variety once in a while to battles
@Silverhost978 Definitely agree on perfect vigor but I might suggest a slight WS boost actually. Bumping them to 150 would make it easier for them to reap value after health pools ballooned in the move to ultra.
Nerexa lost when he didnt use the wagons to chase down the low health hippogryphs in his back field that were bouncing from grenade launcher to grenade launcher, they took out like 3 half health units of grenade launchers. Saying that, easy mistake and I prob would have lost a lot sooner than that
Domination is not fun to watch. 90% of games come down to who got the middle point first and then they won by points when most of there army is deleted
This looked like the empire player couldn't micro good enough, with better micro I'm sure he could've won, that's one thing I dislike over just regular battles, the micro required on domination is much higher.
but why is it bad in your opinion? both LB and domination demand certain qualities. LB is less dynamic but is also micro intensive and highly tactical. There is a "macro" (economical) aspect to the game added in domination, which appeals or not at all to players. But I do not understand why a high level of micro is a bad element to the game. I actually think it's quite the opposite :D
@@thesandwitch-yq1rq For me personally, I favor tactical and strategic knowledge over quickly clicking a button. Quick level micro just isn't as tactical. Especially in a game with tons and tons of variety in armies. This isn't SC2 and it shouldn't aspire to be it. Lastly multiplayer total war is entirely forgotten by CA, the only thing that will keep it going is fans and players, and a harder game will have less people playing it, look at SC2, year after year it's less popular with less and less support. If we wanna see warhammer total war multiplayergames in 5 years, we need the game to be accessible, easy to learn but hard to master.

"This would be a very off-meta build without War Wagons"
Imagine hearing that 3 years ago lmao

Just get a faction unlocker mod and recruit defeated legendary lords mod and start as any faction you like.
