I can verify what you said about the water below central bank. There is a reservoir below there. There is also one below the library. There is a red hydrant on the abercromby street side of the library that gets water from that reservoir. This was a very informative video
Very informative. I remember when n Cocorite was a mangrove swamp. My father went crab hunting on weekends for lovely big blue crabs . That was in the 1930s
Very informative video would like to see more, this time in Tobago also. I was told growing up that Courland bay Tobago once had giant sand dunes, and the sand was used in the construction of Scarborough. There's also the movie, "fire down below", that shows Port of Spain when the light house was surrounded by water.
@@SDuke-trinbago I remember seeing that movie, I must watch it again. I am working on a Tobago video with a historical base and will finish it in October.
I'm 70 years old now. If i remember correctly i would have been in my mid twenties when construction started in the the twin towers And i remember seeing water being pumped out at one time. I dont know about now though. Also, sea lots was formerly "shanty town" if memory serves.
@@pointboy12 Yes, you are correct. I got it wrong. So much for my memory.....anyway, I have to say I like your video and the fact that you have documented part of our history in the way you have. Well done Sir,👍
@@CynthiaPhillip-j2x As you would have seen from the video some of these projects were done 200 years ago. Back then Trinidad was not an independent country but was a British colony.
I worked near the twin towers when it was being built in the 70s,the piles were driven non stop ,but news were the piles just disappeared in water so they had to do a different type of foundation, there you go

@@jocelynhezekiah3168 Well I am not old enough to personally vouch for the crab hunting but I was told that they did so in that area.
