    As a former MTA NYCT employee from the 90’s, I feel Andy Byford was one of the best and employee compassionate presidents they ever had.
    He tried showing solidarity with the employees and wasn’t shy about interacting with them (MTA probably disapproved), how many other past/present or future transit presidents were like that?
    In light of this, MTA and Andy (who tried his best) could not see eye to eye and he has moved on to saner pastures.

      It was jealous, pathetic Cuomo who pushed Byford out of the MTA.

    Why don’t they use that money to put cameras on the train cars like they have on the LIRR and Metro North? Maybe won’t stop assaults but will definitely help catch these attackers much quicker.

    • @GIJew
      @GIJew 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You know how hard it is to ID a random person out of 8 million others in a city? It's not like the guy is gonna show his ID to the cameras before committing an assault.
      Those cameras on LIRR and MNR are primarily for investigation of accidents, like derailments and crashes. Not for catching criminals (although they are used for that, just not the primary purpose as it's not that helpful).
      More police is the solution.

    • @myswagisserious
      @myswagisserious 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Henry Black while i agree with most of what you’re saying, most conductor assaults happen right outside their operating cab. If there was a camera located right outside of it, on top, it would be right in the perpetrators face. I’m sure that would be a big help in catching them as opposed to the old cameras in the subway stations.

    • @Flagrant_Violations
      @Flagrant_Violations 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Henry Black lol you can ID a single person out of >7 bil with two timestamped locations. No face nothing else. There have been public reports. Think about it how the hell would multiple people occupy the exact same locations at the exact same times? This isnt rocket science. 7 bil data points is an extremely small search space. You’re laptop was capable of this literally more than a decade ago. People have been screaming including directors of government agencies etc that it’s a surveillance society to try to get people to pull their heads out of god knows where to disappointingly limited effect and thus people keep trapping themselves doing the most profoundly ignorant things if they just managed to read the front page of a major newspaper even once in multiple years. Americans trapping themselves and destroying their own country/community is just like what a small openly hostile faction in China stated their intent was: to create caustic cultures to destroy the country among other things. In the words of president Obama “everybody thinks they’re slick”

    I was a conductor on a Pelham Bay bound 6 train, last trip. The job started on Christmas Day (17:59) and ended the next day a bit after 1am. I got assaulted at Cypress Ave. All I did was hold the train doors at 125 for some people. I did a good thing and they rewarded me with punch in my face and a broken nose. There was no media, no nothing except me, my partner, TSS and a lot of blood. My blood.

    I worry about the conductors whenever they stick their head out of their window. I feel like a crazy person might hit them as they're very vulnerable in that position.
