I’m commenting at the start of the video so I’m not sure if the content will answer this. I’ve been deciphering whether I’m called to the professional ministry for almost eight years. It’s one day at a time; I’m in online seminary but I tell myself that I’m learning these things first and foremost for my relationship with God and deciphering His call on my life. A huge question is the amount of money that a pastor makes. I’m in a bit of debt but should have it paid off in the next year or two. My current job sucks but makes awesome money. I don’t know if I have the requisite character for pastoral ministry. Pray for me.
God can use anyone so far as you yield yourself to Him and obey His directions. Don't think less of yourself. You're called to bless your generation postively. Pray about it and follow His leading, stay pure and keep loving Him
Can someone guide me what company offers mutual funds and what kind? Growth stock mutual fund, where can I open one and how much money would I need to start it? Thank you in advance, in Jesus name
Ao you guys really believe that pastors who are 80 are still pastoring is because they dont have an retirement? Thats a complete insult! They can simply be faithful men of God who passion is still to bring people to Christ until their last breath.
Hey Tony, it’s absolutely not true that all pastors in their 80’s that way! Praise God for anyone who continues to minister far beyond what the world seems “retirement age”. The problem I was referencing is unfortunately all too common, however. Pastors who don’t have a succession plan, or don’t have the financial freedom to move on and end up ministering longer than they may be effective because of it. Keep on ministering! - Logan
Looking forward to hearing this. Not been the best follower but a Dave listener and fan for years. How does one approach the idea of religion to their spouse? We’re both 38. Married for 15 years. Both grew up non religious. I’m becoming curious and any time I touch on the subject she immediately scoffs at the idea. I’m not weaponizing it or beating her over the head with the Bible. I just dip my toe every once in a while in regular conversation and I meet a brick wall.
Pray and ask God to reveal more of Himself to you and pray that He opens your wife’s heart to be receptive to learning about Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
Start attending church. You don't need to ask her to go with you. I did this I started going and after 2 months of consistently going, one Sunday morning my husband decided to join me. He's been going ever since it's been almost 3 years. Sometimes you just have to take that step.
Matthew 7; 11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
One of the major problems for pastors is the cost of seminary education. Virtually all pastors who do not attend a denominational seminary take out student loans which make it very difficult for them so save because their salaries do not increase at the same rate as someone in the private sector. But pastors also are not always aware of some of the advantages they get, such as being able to divide their "salary" into salary proper and housing. Anything connected to housing is not included in their income for tax purposes. So all churches should be making it possible for pastors to buy their own homes, rather than giving them a parsonage to live in. Example: A pastor has a salary of $75,000. He takes that salary as $40,000 for his salary and $35,000 for housing. He would pay taxed only on the $40,000. Pastors need to work only with advisers who know all the tax breaks for pastors to maximize the income they do have. Even the pest control visit is deductible under housing expenses for a pastor.
Churches that determine the call need to be aware of these things and convinced of their legality. My husband pastored his first church and the congregation there did not believe in setting aside pretax dollars for business expenses.
@@oliviafox6745 I am not talking about setting aside pretax dollars for business expenses but for HOUSING expenses. The church should divide a pastor's salary into two buckets - salary proper and housing. This is entirely legal - you can check with a CPA. (My husband was in ministry in our earlier years and we also do this for our pastor.)
Some churches AND some people believe that the pastor and his family are supposed to be poor. I know that in one church, it was a control issue by a deacon who was living in sin. I grew up as a PK. This is a subject that is not taught well in churches.
Agreed. Stewardship can only go so far if you aren't paid enough to live off of. And being bi-vocational only works if you have the time and the family situation allows for it.
Sure but the Bible teaches you to build wealth. Many verses and Proverbs support this. Also many Godly men had great wealth such as David, Solomon, Job etc. Money can definetly consume you, but I think God calls us to build wealth in a way that honors Him.
@@Marcus-kr9dk all those people that you're talking about had wealth in the Bible was in the Old Testament, that was a different time when they lived under the law, we live by the New Testament now the teachings of Jesus in the apostles Jesus never preached get money he preached to deny yourself and to take up your cross and follow him, he preached love not the world neither the things that are in the world. He told her Rich Young Ruler to sell everything that he had and follow him, did the Apostle Peter say Lord we have given up everything to follow you and last but not least he said you can't serve God and money 🌑❗
@@jacquesminor1081 Except you can serve God and have money, it’s in the Bible plenty of times. There are also wealthy Christian’s in the new testament such as Philemon. Also do you think the old testament should be completely disregarded because it was pre new covenant? If that’s the case I guess we should ignore all of the proverbs and psalms? In Romans it says all you must do to be saved is confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. Using your logic essentially everyone would go to hell. I seriously doubt that you or many Christians have sold all of their possessions. I actually know you haven’t because you’re interacting on a device right now.
God makes you richer to give more away. If you have 2 cars/houses/boats or anything I promise you God wants to give away the extra unless you use them regularly for work and even then you probably don't NEED it if you have God.
Listen to a Todd White money testimony. Money makes a terrible master but an incredible servant. Switch the mindset from giving your money to a church and instead give your money to God to plunder the kingdom of darkness. Get free from money, don’t let it control you.
I think it matters more how things are for you the last 20 years of your life or if you're able to be comfortable and financially safe your last 20 years of life instead of being destitute.
9:59 For a pastor to have worked all of those years and retire completely broke is actually a bad witness. That they’ve not been diligent. That they not been disciplined. Wow! Where do you even start with the levels of depravity layered into that statement. At the absolute very least it is bearing false witness against pastors who intentionally forego the temporal and meaningless for the eternal and priceless and to share that with others. Money and wealth do not signal virtue nor does the lack of wealth signal being a bad witness. In Ramsey’s warped world view 💰💰 represents success and being broke signals failure. There are far more pastors who leave lucrative business opportunities to pursue ministry and live paycheck to paycheck than there are pastors who own mansions and jets. By Ramsey’s logic, it is the Joel Osteens of the world that are the good witnesses while it is the rural bivocational pastor living paycheck to paycheck who is the bad witness. 🙄 The reality is, being financially broke and spiritually rich at the end of your life is a far better witness than being financially rich and spiritually broke. Ramsey takes a secular world view and dresses it up with Churchianity jargon to make it seem righteous.
Truth is, those Pastors who do not plan for their future and spend it all up leave that responsibility to others then to take up the slack in the future because of their poor planning. We are all technically in the "ministry". Time for Christians to get a clue.
@@BirdDogey1 I asked about the APOSTLES. Let's be clear, Matthew was a tax collector BEFORE he became an Apostle. Therefore, my question remains...which of the Apostles were RICH or wealthy?
@BirdDogey1 I said APOSTLE. I didn't ask about their lives BEFORE becoming an APOSTLE. WE were many things before we began living the life of Holiness God say we ought to live. Our lives NOW are not what they were before Christ. We are no longer liars, thieves, fornicators etc. The fact, based on Scripture, is that none of the APOSTLES had worldly wealth. They were ALL rich in Christ, their treasures had to do with their work for Christ, their efforts, successfully, to spread the Gospel. The world and all its riches will pass away, only our work for the Lord Jesus remains. Matthew 6:19 "Lay not up for yourselves treasure upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven..." Man say we should seek earthly wealth, God says otherwise. Follow God.

Lol that's actually exactly how you do it. The more you help the more you make. Find a product or service that helps a lot of people and then tell me different.
You do not heed Dave Ramsey's discussions regarding the gospel. While he offers sound financial guidance, his primary focus seems to be on wealth and social standing. At best, he can be considered a lukewarm Christian. He lacks faith in the gospel as it is traditionally understood. Instead, he subscribes to a personal interpretation of it. He has fashioned a deity that reflects his own likeness, resulting in the creation of an idol. It is inconceivable to possess a fortune exceeding 50 million dollars while accumulating wealth without dedicating a significant portion to assist those in need.
@@KnowledgeIsComfort Dave Ramsey possesses considerable wealth, which has the potential to assist individuals in need. However, he is not known for being a generous donor; rather, he tends to contribute only when it aligns with his own convenience or the interests of those he favors. Dave Ramsey does not exemplify the qualities of a true Christian. At most, he represents a tepid faith and serves as a poor role model. Individuals of his ilk tend to prioritize self-adulation and their personal interpretations of divinity. It is advisable to exercise caution in placing trust in such figures.
@@KnowledgeIsComfort Dave Ramsey has provided valuable financial guidance to numerous individuals, and his advice has proven effective for many. This is his area of expertise. However, regarding his religious beliefs, he does not a true Christian.
Dave’s attitude towards money is not biblical. He routinely tells people to destroy their family over money, whether it’s charity to a family member in need, or issues in a family business. Money comes before family to Dave, and if the two are in conflict, money wins. He also is not godly in the way he communicates, with out of control anger, nastiness and bitterness as his standard tone. He grasps for money in an avaricious way, and preaches mistreating people over money. Like a dog with a bowl of food will growl and bite anyone who gets near it. That’s Dave. Pastors should receive enough to live on comfortably. The congregation has a responsibility to take care of them. They should not get rich. If they do get rich, they should give most of it away. To the church, and to the poor. Super-rich celebrity preachers are a blight on the gospel, they are always corrupted by it, they always compromise on doctrine, they almost always fall to sin, and the fame goes to their head. And as a result they defame God’s name to the world. This is one of the greatest flaws of the American church. If your true allegiance is to God, not money, and you are an example as a teacher, you must set the example of following the word to its fullest extent, which means giving away everything you don’t need, at a minimum.
"If your true allegiance is to God, not money, and you are an example as a teacher, you must set the example of following the word to its fullest extent, which means giving away everything you don’t need, at a minimum." Is this what you do?
Because if you allow it, some people will drain you dry financially and emotionally, while continuing to live as they want and using others as their crutch. To the one responsible with much, much will be given, to the one irresponsible with little, little will be given
Two things Dave Ramsey will never do: 1. His ego will not allow him to sit down and debate a real theologian where he can't press their mute button. 2. He will never address the ONLY time when Jesus calls anyone a Fool; a man who took the Dave Ramsey advice a fool in Luke 12:16-20.
As someone who has been in the Dave Ramsey calling queue, it is all theater. He doesn't listen to his callers to understand. He will be "nice" to one and then blast the next. It's a schtick. His advice is good for making money...but it is theologically bankrupt. Jesus says, "take up your cross...." That doesn't mean "poorness is next to Godliness," but it certainly doesn't mean "live like no one else so that in this world you can live better than everyone else." Dave has good money advice. He is selling with Jesus' name attached. Dave says: You have to transform your behavior. Negative. You have to be Born Again, and the Spirit will transform your heart (Rom. 12:2). Dave butchers that verse. Take Dave's money advice, and you may die rich. But you may hear Jesus say, "Away from me, you evildoers. I never knew you. (Mt. 7:21-23) This is the one teaching from Jesus that Dave will never interact with: Luke 12:16-21 ESV [16] And he told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man produced plentifully, [17] and he thought to himself, ‘What shall I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?’ [18] And he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. [19] And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.”’ [20] But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ [21] So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.”
I so agree that this was the best Dave Ramsey interview.

Pray about it and follow His leading, stay pure and keep loving Him
Praying for you, God knows the plans he has for, speak to God n watch him work it out. Its going to be ok🙏🙏
"it's a cause and effect gospel" it's this and that.
It's a prosperity Gospel just like he's always been teaching, he's a motivational speaker.
Bayside shout out! Very cool.
Thanks for the wisdom
Beware Many shall say LORD LORD.
@user-zd3ti9vl86 Yes, because everyone is not saved and living for Jesus.
I also enjoyed this interview with Davy Ramse'y
Hey I am a pastor and I want to join the pastors page for pastors for financial growth
Great advice
I would like to see dave ramsey documentary tv series at least a 7 series episode.
We need a binge watch on that.
This is cool. Thanks 🙏 for giving us good advice.
How do I get info to help me now that I am widow on a tight budget. Bless you
Can someone guide me what company offers mutual funds and what kind?
- Logan
Thanks Logan!! Completely understood! @@TalkingChurch
Some here really need to read the bk of Proverbs.
Matthew 7; 11
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Very true!
Thank you!!!!
Great interview
Love the Hair comment 10:15
Some churches AND some people believe that the pastor and his family are supposed to be poor. I know that in one church, it was a control issue by a deacon who was living in sin. I grew up as a PK. This is a subject that is not taught well in churches.
Yes. I’ve been in two different churches who allowed a man to be a deacon who had committed sexual infidelity and it was well known
Agreed. Stewardship can only go so far if you aren't paid enough to live off of. And being bi-vocational only works if you have the time and the family situation allows for it.
Wondeful talk. Unfortunately 1mil isnt much these days but its still good.
It's not as much as it used to be, but "isn't much" is a bit much
Maybe I’m dumb, I knew Dave was a Christian but I never thought of it being a ministry
💯 he didn't tell you to die rich either❗
How would you give if you're not rich?
Real wealth is of the heart, not the purse.
Teachers with tenure make really good money
He looks like pastor Gary Clarke from Hillsong.
The comments section sadly showcases how the poverty mindset and naivety still holds believers captive.
Listen to a Todd White money testimony. Money makes a terrible master but an incredible servant. Switch the mindset from giving your money to a church and instead give your money to God to plunder the kingdom of darkness. Get free from money, don’t let it control you.
If a pastor is "afraid to talk about" money then they shouldn't be a pastor.
He also didn’t tell us to strive for riches either
God also doesnt want pastors to be the richest person in the church by far.. i believe Jesus calls them wolves (den of thieves)
Dave Ramsey.
The lover of money
He told me to die for what I believe
Ultimately does it matter if you die wealthy or poor ?
I think it matters more how things are for you the last 20 years of your life or if you're able to be comfortable and financially safe your last 20 years of life instead of being destitute.
9:36
The reality is, being financially broke and spiritually rich at the end of your life is a far better witness than being financially rich and spiritually broke.
God did not say die broke but He *did* say not to worship money
So, which of the Apostles were RICH or wealthy?
Are you more wealthy/rich than the apostles?
@@pandabear5221 Matthew
@@BirdDogey1 I asked about the APOSTLES. Let's be clear, Matthew was a tax collector BEFORE he became an Apostle. Therefore, my question remains...which of the Apostles were RICH or wealthy?
@@pandabear5221 Paul
Follow God.
Beware of anyone that packages what they sell with the veneer of religion.
Who is doing that?
I hate to say it, but i dont believe it is possible to increase my income.
I'm ashamed that I lack diligence....😮
The better the pastor the more poor they are because they tell people the truth and not just what they want to hear.
Looks like Our LORD did not own anything? "Do not store treasures on this earth"
You can’t serve 2 masters . people’s relationship with money says so much about them as people. Money is one of the most powerful ways Satan has of dividing people, best of friends , fathers and sons Satan will make them argue over money
That’s why Jesus gave the sermon of the talents. To the one who is responsible with much, much will be given. To the one not responsible with little, little will be given
God did not say you need money either cant take that with you
Bankruptcy?????
He said to live your best life & be raptured with most Jewish banker credit card debt possible!😊
But EVERY actual Disciple of Jesus dies with their treasure in heaven and not on earth. EVERYONE OF THEM died broke.
For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world n loss his soul.
Warren Buffett is one of top 10 richest person in the world and the #1 investor. Over 90 and still working. Because he wants to not because he has to.
I was raised poor, retired financially free in my 40s and will never work again for money. Thanks to Financial Peace, Dave Ramsey and Warren Buffett.
Christ and his disciples had the mission of spreading the gospel. That was their priority at the time. Not financial freedom.
They did not have Warren Buffett, Dave Ramsey, the stock market, the best economy in the world, and the Bible spread and explained so that we all can be financially free...
What's your excuse...😉
@@PedroLuis-LivingTheDream You have a point.
But Abraham, David, Solomon, and others did not!
@@rubylimey7614 Yes but you can save your soul, have the world and give your loved ones an amazing life... Why settle for less... 😉
Do NOT listen to any financial advice from this man. He did not become successful via the methods he preaches.
You don’t become a multi millionaire by helping people.
Lol that's actually exactly how you do it. The more you help the more you make. Find a product or service that helps a lot of people and then tell me different.
Most ignorant comment I've seen in awhile. How much you make is directly proportional to how much value "help" you provide to the market place.
Dave is a big giver
@@KnowledgeIsComfort
Dave Ramsey possesses considerable wealth, which has the potential to assist individuals in need.

Dave Ramsey has provided valuable financial guidance to numerous individuals, and his advice has proven effective for many. This is his area of expertise. However, regarding his religious beliefs, he does not a true Christian.
Voi aveți adunări .... Nici un fel de biserică!
Biserică este doar Biserica Ortodoxă!! 😂😂😂😂
Jesus died broke…….
Where did you get that from?
@@prolificacape5212 he wasn’t wealthy. Loved living amongst the poor and common man.
"If your true allegiance is to God, not money, and you are an example as a teacher, you must set the example of following the word to its fullest extent, which means giving away everything you don’t need, at a minimum."

@@lauragem796 I’m not a preacher. I’m also not rich. But I do give to charity.
Because if you allow it, some people will drain you dry financially and emotionally, while continuing to live as they want and using others as their crutch. To the one responsible with much, much will be given, to the one irresponsible with little, little will be given
This young feminine man with shaved eye brows is a Pastor??
This guy’s theology is whatever justifies getting rich. A total fraud!
Wow. Dave sure stirred up your demons 😂
Two things Dave Ramsey will never do:
(Mt. 7:21-23)
This is the one teaching from Jesus that Dave will never interact with:
Luke 12:16-21 ESV
[16] And he told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man produced plentifully, [17] and he thought to himself, ‘What shall I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?’ [18] And he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.
