Thinking out loud: Turbos like load, so they pull taller gearing than other combinations. It may however have been quicker but you added a shift, which shifting is in trans saver mode. Is it more fun now? My switch to shorter gears with a manual made driving less enjoyable. Do you still have the dual wastegate setup? Maybe try to block one off and see what happens. Boost response may get better, with the same peak. Yes, I still love the car... And sorry for your loss.
Yes. Everything I gained in the first 100’ was lost. I ordered 4.10’s, so we will see how that goes. I originally was planning on running only 1 Wastegate, but was convinced by others it wouldn’t work. I was planning on doing an experiment with that setup. In fact the mount for it is in my h pipe and just plugged still. So it’ll be easy to try. Btw, the 4.56 are a bit too “dump truck-y” on the street. I think the 4.11’s will be best of both worlds. 🤞🤞🤞🤞
@@DeathTollRacing I'm curious to see the 4:10s. I think those will suit your setup better. Now if you had an 8k rpm Coyote, 4.56 may have been the ticket. Wasn't the caution with the wastegate in the H of the H-pipe that flow should be directed at the gate? I'd try just running 1 gate where it's at. Even just throw a big spring in the other so it won't open. Should allow you to test anyways to see if you end up with boost creep. It's pretty common to run a gate on 1 side. With the h there shouldn't really be any issues equalizing pressure to both turbos. Did you just quote the Thong Song? 'She's got dumps like a truck, truck, truck' 🤣🤦
@@Jim_Lawrence yeah. A coyote would be nice…. I think that’s the concern about the Wastegate not being in direct flow. But once the science starts, it’s not hard to move it around and see. I’m in the middle of the caprice build right now, so the Vic is waiting patiently for me to get back to it.
When’s the next event? I’m still in Portland and the drive over wouldn’t be too bad and I’d love to bring my manual swapped Marauder! I’ve been running 4.10 gears on it with the automatic for a couple years now and boy the difference is amazing going from 3.55 to 4.10 gears. Looks like fun! 4.56 gears are nice but just a little excessive. Those gears are great for let’s say autocross or a tight technical circuit track.
agreed. i was trying to get the most of it to try and get deeper into the 13's. I think 4.10's will be better, and that's what it will be next time. Next event will be in spring time. I will have a few cars out there. Follow deathtollracing on FB. I'll share the schedule when it comes out. I don't post on there very often.
I need too. So many things went wrong with it during the first tune. It was spinning on the dyno, slipping the automatic trans, etc. I’ve been track tuning it (Marty) with the 5 speed. I’m curious what it’s putting down, but don’t expect more than upper 300’s hp at 9psi.
@@DeathTollRacing ok, would I need to let my muffler shop build the piping or does it come with the turbos? Because I'd like to do this setup for my car in the future but with my automatic transmission.
@@krownvikkhris3004 either way. Not much for direct install kits. My video series on this car has parts lists that will get you further than anything I could find. Just look in the description of the videos for the lists.
You’d be easy 500. I’m totally stock motor that’s wore to the end of its life putting down 450 at 10psi. I don’t sell the kits, but in the build series on the car there’s links to all the parts. They are mostly cheap crap parts, but you will get the point and can sub out for better stuff if you want. The main difference is just how long the stuff will last.
@@DeathTollRacing Would you consider selling custom kits?? i think you could make some money if you did, as many want to turbo but not many ppl know how to.. I'm a pd blower type guy, but them prices are over $5k for a new 2.1L KB.. I want the 3.2LC KB but that's 15lbs minimum, n i'm stock internals too.. i also need to figure out why my cams don't rev n make power past 5,400rpm, my cams say they should easily go past 6,300rpms.. Maybe installer error, as the installer shop mostly work on v6 imports, not performance parts on a 4.6L 2v..
@@DeathTollRacing Thank you sir, i appreciate your quick reply.. Part of the reason i subscribed almost immediately after seeing your video comments n responses..lol i understand ppl get busy n time is limited each day.. i'll have to find a guy who can properly degree these cams, they should rev to 6,300rpm like i expect it to.. Thanks..

Man i really love this build of your P71 Crown Victoria...so have you had a chance to put it on the Dyno again yet with the current motor?

I wish I could. But right now it’s not in the cards for me. There are so many hurdles to jump I’m currently whelmed.
It sounds like he has the cams to advanced. That will give you low end and take 2x from the top.
