Great review, I appreciate you putting it together. In the two videos I've seen of yours, I can say you earned my sub. I look forward to going through your library and your future vids!
Hey Brad 👋🏼 greetings from Australia, I just purchased the Osmo 4 a week ago as it’s my first action cam! I was tossing up between the Hero12 & the Osmo 4. Due to my DJI ecosystem already which includes 3 drones, Dji mics and a gimbal, the action4 was the easy decision in the end. I’m glad to say I’ve been away in a different state vlogging and recording on it and am absolutely loving it! Definitely keen to get some accessories for it. Just been watching a couple of your videos and am loving what your doing mate keep it up!! Colour grading is something that I also want to learn so I am more than happy to watch your process and learn along the way with you 😊 Keep up the awesome work and I’ll catch you in your next video 😅 Cheers
Can someone tell me why I can’t adjust the video in the app ? It is there. I tried both. Before it is uploaded and after. When I click play it’s a black page no video
Great review- quick question, the accessory at 6:40 in your video for mounting below your chin with the magnetic mount, where is that available? Thanks!
To add on the Cons - I hope that they include the FOV in the quick switch menu since it's not showing. Im sure that this can be added in the future with some updates. Other than that, im proud to own this best action cam for 2023!
Nice video, well done! One suggestion, this camera doesn’t have Dlog, it’s dlog-m. Dlog is different color profile that you can find in more expensive cameras from DJI.
Yup I have the Action 3 and love it. I don't do many night time shots so i'm not worried about the nighttime footage. Great camera these are. I might upgrade when the Action 5 releases. I've had 4 different gopros over the years and they all gave me issues.
@@BGoodman fair enough, if you wanted you could send me a screen frame and I could see about colour correcting and fire you back a LUT (I don’t have an OS4 yet and it’s likely a Christmas 🎄 present to myself).
Great review. 👍 This camera won’t shut down if used as a dash cam in a car for around 3 hours (plugged into the car of course)? They say the GoPro won’t record past 40 or so minutes!
If I want to create travelling videos, simply walking down the roads and recording with no running or any major action videos then what could be the result if we dont use Rocksteady. Will the video come too shaky?
I Dont want to spend lots of money i was thiking should i save and get osmo action 4 or get gopro 10 half the price..saying that excelente vídeo wish you well
Hey. After the latest Update. I have to press rec twice for it to rec wenn its off. And it does not shut down by itself after 3 sec. This is really annoying. Any help ? Thx :)
I was a bit skeptical at the start of the video, there're a lot of DJI and GoPro fanboys out here on YT. But I must say it actually looks like good video with a verry honest look to it. Especially when looking at the recommendations at the end. Myself I'm actually disappointed in both DJI and GoPro (on the actioncam field). They both just bringing up updates without actually solving problems much. It just looks like a yearly run towards new income. And maybe GoPro is a bit more extreme in that than DJI... But it's on both of them. At least DJI makes slightly changes... I owned an OA3, but I had returned it because of the soft image (focus problem). Even my $50 SJcam M10+ from 2016 had a sharper image with more detail. Then I went for the Hero11. Which felt kinda decent. But old when looking to the housing. They have used it for 4 cams now (including the 12). And they all share the same overheating issues and terrible battery door. I must admit that the build quality on the OA3 felt much more durable (probably the same on the 4). But I had overheating issues with the 11 too, so I was able to sell it for a good price. And finally went for the 112 again after looking at DJI and Insta360 too. Also because I still had all the accessories. But they're just all the same... The Hero12 is literally a software updated Hero11. They only reduced processing and heat generation by lowering bittrates. So they could also "fix" the 11 by doing the same (but a firmware update will not generate them income). I believe the 9 had a different CPU, but the 10, 11, 12 are basically just the same camera's. DJI actually doing the same here, only less obvious. The Osmo Action 1 was a verry good camera. Then the Action 2 was a bit of a failure with overheating etc. and the people didn't liked the design much. Then the OA3 was actually the Action 2 but in the body of the OA1 again. But it had that focus issue. I feel they had to recall them to fix and check them and replace them with a revamp, like a OA3 v2.0. But instead of that they just compensated things with firmware updates (I believe after that overheating issues started to occur). And they just pushed it towards a new release (hoping that people soon would go for the new cam and forget about the OA3, which is still not fixed). So now here it is, the OA3 v2.0, but they only call it OA4. Although the good thing is that they've enlarged the image sensor. GoPro did nothing new, they even removed the GPS unit. So both camera's are not worthwhile upgrading no. Although they can be fine if you're completely new and need to go for one of them. But if people can wait buying, it probably could be more interesting to wait a year. Then there will probably be a new Insta360 (X4?) and hopefully both DJI and GoPro will come with a serious update or improvement. Even buying an older and cheaper cam will bring you the same and decent image quality. Like a Hero10 is like almost half of the price of the Hero12. And you won't see much difference in them when comparing. This is just a terrible year for action cams...
I had two Hero 7's (so I could use them in multiple scenarios without having to switch mounts with their terrible mounting system) and both of them had overheating and freezing issues. I mainly used the quick record feature and it was usually a 50/50 chance the camera would actually turn on and start recording. I got tired of it. So it was time for a big upgrade and so far for me the OA4 has been leaps and bounds better than the GoPro's. I'll never go back.
If you want to use the front screen, you just have to swipe up, and if you would like to go back to the real Screen, you would have to do the same and swipe up. So technically it locks so the settings can’t change accordingly

I love my DJI osmo 3 and waiting for my 4 to arrive.. can't wait.
That’s awesome! I hope you enjoy it!
What mic do you attach to the dji? It sounded crisp for the intro
That was the camera itself
is it just me who doesn't like 24fps in youtube ? fast movement looks like stuttering.

Keep going man.Good job!
Appreciate it!

You can buy it on Amazon or through dji website! But I just added a link on the description!
@@BGoodman Thank you! The additional videos really sell the mount! Keep reviewing!

I completely understand the last go pro I had, froze repeatedly. I like the action 4, but you are right it’s not worth the upgrade from the 3
Hi,
Thank you for the video and information.
Nope, GoPro batteries still don't have quick charge. Likely the #1 reason to get the OS4 over GoPro at this point. D-Log grade was a bit harsh though.
Like I mentioned in the video, I’m still working to get better with the log, but I felt like I had to throw it in!

Thank you 😁
Please continue vlogging.
I had Device Overheated Recording stopped ???
Can I use DJI action 4 as studio camera???

Sir how about the backpack mount is is worth it? Or the neck mount? Which one to buy?
I like the neck mount better, the action hangs a little from my backpack strap
Great review my friend. Love from India ❤️. Quick question, is the quality of video detiorates if we use Rocksteady or Rocksteady+?
If I want to create travelling videos, simply walking down the roads and recording with no running or any major action videos then what could be the result if we dont use Rocksteady. Will the video come too shaky?
Both but it isn’t too bad, it crops in making the image less quality

You have to turn on the SnapShot option again in the settings for it to work.

Unfortunately not in this video

DJI not DGI. Why do so many people say DGI? It's clearly DJI.
Not even joking I thought about this last night, not sure guess it’s an easy mess up
