- Hi Sewists!
I am sure you have all seen the new Closet Core Fran Pyjama pattern by now, I think it was released just before Christmas. As soon as I saw them I knew I wanted to make them. I had not found my perfect pj pattern yet and thought these could be a contender.
Well, spoiler alert, I adore them!!!! I have worn them every evening since finishing them off and would happily wear them all day too if I wasn't working.
I managed to get the whole set in a size S out of 4.5 metres of narrow fabric with some very careful pattern cutting.
Have you made them yet? Are they in your 2024 plans? Do you have any questions about my experience making them or any super tips you can share with us? Get chatty in the comments and let me know what you think of the pattern.
If you enjoyed this video and you feel like you would like to support my channel further you can buy me a 'ko-fi' or Frank a carrot (his favourite treat 🥰) here:

As usual, any snoring you can hear in the background is my little dog, Frank 🥰
Have a lovely week,

Great PJ's.. Good job Ruth..
Thank you 🥰
Ooh those Fran’s look gorgeous on you!! I was also pleased to hear that the sleeves are supposed to be sewn in flat as that is always my preference, sorry to hear that didn’t go smoothly 🫣😂. I will probably still try them flat if I make the PJs. Very tempted now I’ve seen yours. x
You should definitely give them a go, I'll bring them along tomorrow and you can have a closer look if you like. I'm sure you would enjoy making them xx
Pulling through a burrito is so satisfying isn’t it! 😂 they look fab! ❤
It is when it goes right lol Thank you so much 🥰
The colour is gorgeous!!! What a lovely pj set!!!
Thank you, I really do love them. Highly recommended if you fancy a set too 🥰
Love them Ruth, your face once you turned out the burrito it always daunting hoping you got it all sewn up right. They look stunning on you Ruth 💕💕 say hello to Frank 🥰 🤩🤗xx
I was sure something was going to get caught in there 😃 Frank says hi, see you Saturday xx
@@SeamStressedRuth looking forward to seeing you Saturday 🥰xx
Lovely pyjamas Ruth, the fabric is beautiful and they look great ❤❤
Thank you so much 😊
Gorgeous PJ'S! I love the colour of them and the buttons are perfect!
Thank you, I think you would like these too 🥰
Love your pj’s Ruth, they look so good 😍
Thank you Claire xx
Hello Ruth, 👋🏻 I love your pyjamas the dark green really suits you and the fun animals in the design. The burrito method is always a head scratcher 😂but so satisfying 😊 See you soon, happy sewing 🧵 xx
Hi Donna 🥰 It's great when you reveal a perfectly neat yoke isn't it? I was pretty convinced I would catch something in this one so very happy indeed! See you tomorrow xx
Hi Ruth, I'm Judith the sample maker at Closet Core Patterns. I'm so happy you love your pyjama. The inverted burrito is something I came up with to have a beautifull finish inside and out. Can't wait to see more of your makes!
Hi Judith, so nice to hear from you. The burrito was an excellent idea, it really does give them a beautiful and neat finish! I actually used the method you suggest in my last 2 makes by a different pattern co, as it was a much nicer way to finish them off than what they had advised in their own instructions. Great work 🥰
Gorgeous 🤩 that fabric is adorable x
Thank you! 😊
Wow they look lovely! Yes agree with these more involved makes it's best to spread out your time and sew it in sections. ❤
You are so right Kaaren, I usually like to get a project completed in a weekend but these required patience, rest and lots of tea 🥰
Thanks ruth...i brought this pattern with the intention of making a shirt without a collar stand. There are hardly any patterns out there which is not a camp collar to have a one piece collar. I think they suit me more and not as restricting if i do all the buttons up. You can definitely wear your frans out!! Especially the top
I completely agree, you could definitely use this pattern for a shirt too. I am currently making the Ines Shirt from Tessuti which is very similar to this. No collar stand and it has slits in the sleeve hems rather than the bodice hem. Let me know how you get on with it 🥰
Great pj’s, the colour is gorgeous x
Thank you so much 🥰
Oh my goodness the PJs are gorgeous well done they look amazing xx
Your pjs are amazing, really lovely x
Thank you so much 🥰
Fabulous vlog. Please can I ask where you got the lovely fabric for the first top you are wearing?
Hi Dawn, thank you. I picked up the fabric from the swaps table at a social sewing day but it was originally from Pound Fabrics. It’s really soft & cosy x
Far too nice to wear to bed! 🙂
They are gorgeous ❤
Thank you so much 🥰
