I may have missed it, but the nitrate levels being measured are a stand-in for other measures of other processes that affect water quality. I'm firstly thinking hormone level build-up in the water, but there must be many other processes that depend on elements and such that become depleted over time. I think our knowledge of what must be interesting biological and chemical processes doesn't even point us at the kinds of instrumentation we might need to track those. And so perhaps, we observe and deduce and retry... Thank you for your great content and for embracing science.

I definitely want to watch more data/informative videos about Discus, Angels, Cories, Plecos, etc. breeding purposes. Health, water condition, environment, diet, temps, triggers for spawns, hatching, etc. I’ve been breeding for almost two years now (not discus until the next few months) and I’ve been very successful but I always love to learn more and hear different ways on how to pursue it.
