Joey i love this eel but i absolutely suggest giving it a large piece of cover in the centre to act as a bridge of shade if he wants to go from one side of the tank to the other without stress
Yes.. I kept snakes for years and they seemed to do best with a shady nook and also a snug hide. This setup would stress most snakes but I'm guessing you'll do some landscape in the future. Awesome animal!
I had 2 of these back in 98-99 when I lived in Venezuela. The bigger of the 2 was about the size of this one. I was shocked by the smaller eel and it felt like 110v, but one day I was cleaning the tank and had my arm fully submerged up to my shoulder. I would keep my eye on them, they would mostly sit on the bottom and come up for air once in a while, but I didn't notice the big 1 swim straight up and across and touched my upper arm. I open my eyes and was on the ground about 3ft away from the tank. Not alot of time passed, but I just had no idea how I got on the ground. Be careful with that. They turn pale white sometimes, kinda freaky, something to do with charging or discharging or something.
@Ohe-k2n ty, but that was over 25yrs ago. I don't believe I'll be having pet electric eels anymore or going swimming in the Amazon, so I think I'm good.🫠

That could be cool, plus each corner could have a bit of a current to help force a bit of movement so a fish doesn't just sit in the corners all day, but also helps lessen the chance of corners becoming dead zones and helping keep the water nice an aerated and active. As well as working out the fish a bit when they choose to go against the current as some do naturally swim against the current at times.
What happens if him and his loved ones gets angry and breaks it while he is in hismroom with that electric eel in the same tank? Not such a grand idea then is it?
