- As you wait for your next treatment session, Corvus pays you a visit where he goes over the basics of chess (in case you never played before), and then follows up with a casual game until you fall blissfully asleep.
*En Passant Correction*: For White: White pawn on Rank 5, Black makes a pawn's first move 2 squares from Rank 7 to Rank 5. For Black: Black pawn on Rank 4, White makes a pawn's first move 2 squares from rank 2 to Rank 4.

As a doctor, Corvus is obviously a very smart guy. And judging from this video, he also must be a tactical genius. How fortunate we are to have such an intelligent doctor at Arkham Sanitarium
Being great at chess has nothing to do with being a tactical genius. Many great chess players have stated that you don’t have to be smart to be one of the worlds best it just comes naturally to some people. Magnus Carlson the worlds best chess player is average in iq and problem solving situations

His last name is Carlsen, not Carlson. What is the source of your claim about his IQ and problem solving skills? Also, you may watch him here on TH-cam, as he plays three simultaneous games blindfolded, if you have any doubt about the brilliancy of his mind.
@@goodish9765 In fact ☝️🤓 he has never taken an IQ test (said by himself in interviews) 'cause he thinks it's pointless, and, even though it's true, being good at chess doesn't mean you're smart, chess is all based on pattern recognition and memory, two very important skills that are definitely important when measuring intelligence

I’ve been watching for 4-5 years and have severe insomnia. Sometimes I won’t sleep for 2-3 days but you seem to do the trick and ease my body into relaxation. Thank you uncle e 👍
Note : En passant is only available after the opposite pawn advances 2 squares (from origin 2 squares first move) to be adjacent to your pawn. in this case you can capture it diagonally while advancing 1 square.
Example: white pawn from d4 to d5, black pawn to e5, white pawn takes e6.

The different masks we see probably mean we are with a different universe's Corvus. The white mask, black mask, and leather mask, and other masks that I've probably forgotten about. Some you can see the eyes but others you cannot.

Took me about three years of watching ER to figure out Corvus is the family of birds crows and ravens are in.
Corvus is my favorite ERU character
I find it interesting that this is the 5th building, floor etc. and the transition from introduction to board layout is at 5:55

Its funny because just earlier today i have played chess for the verry first time with a friend in school and it was actually really fun so this is verry fitting for todays rleaxsation and falling asleep :D thanks alot and thank god for your huge creativity and skill !
Good video! I noticed that there was a correction for the En Passant move in the description of the video, but in case you are still confused, the easiest way I have had it explained to me, is that if your pawn is on the opponents 4th rank (Row that pawns would move 2 squares to if they chose to) and your opponent moves 2 squares next to your pawn, you can take it as if it only moved one square.

Wait, I’ve just realised there’s lore to this channel. It’s all connected. In the last video. (The doctor one) he mentions a building called the sanatorium, in the busy bored video the lady is also in the sanatorium. In the doctor video he says he switches brains with this guy that’s playing chess with us and the busy bored girl. There’s so much more lore but I would be typing for hours if I explained it all lol.
