    When you take stool softeners, it gets you a little gassy before you actually go and if you gave birth (wether c-section or vaginal) it hurtss. Those gases sometimes don’t come out right away and it feels like an electric shock. What to do ?

  • @khadijahaider2221
    @khadijahaider2221 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I personally did not need some of these things after delivering my baby. A big water bottle is a good idea. Stool softener helped a lot post delivery.

    Additional product suggestions - and thank you for your video! your candid approach was really refreshing!
    1. breast milk collection cups - these can be slipped into your bra on the opposite side you are feeding baby on to collect milk that wants to escape from the unoccupied breast!
    2. silverettes - instead of a nipple cream you can use silver nipple covers, they are amazing
    3. eye mask - sleeping when baby is sleeping can be difficult, an eye mask can be life changing. I never used them before babies and I use them all the time now
    4. electric heating pad - you can bring this to the hospital to ease delivery, use it to warm babies bassinet before (removing it) and putting baby inside, and ease early postpartum discomforts (obvs dont apply heating pad to baby)
    5. clip on book light - these are meant for reading at night but I used them for nighttime feedings since they can clip to anything and the light is adjustable and intended for focus on a single book page - it is focused enough not to disturb my partner
    6. handheld bidet sprayer for the toilet - this can be easily installed by yourself or the handy-person in your family, it is a lifesaver for cleanliness postpartum and can be used for enema as well if you are blocked up and didn't take any stool softener

    I agree with most things mentioned here (since I've used them too)... But...I disagree that lactation teas and cookies are a gimmic. There are ingredients that do help with lactation (you have to be an informed consumer). Nothing is a 'one size fits all' ..But... to call it a gimmic is inaccurate.

    • @adorabell4253
      @adorabell4253 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      None of them have been proven to help lactation. What does help is the placebo effect. If it helps you then keen using them but there is no scientific evidence that proves that certain ingredients help with lactation which is why they cannot be recommended on a public youtube channel.
