The self-build seems like the combination of everything you have learned so far, everything is coming together you should be very proud of this achievement.
except it's no good for anything
@@onehandeddude1293then why are you even here?
@@lesleyhughes3174 to learn from others mistakes. Derrrrr
Every time i go to this channel, i remember my friend who drives a honda element. He passed away in 2016 . Miss the honda element days .
Smell memories are powerful because the olfactory system is near the memory hub in the brain.
I was so glad to see you could open the tailgate from inside the camper so you aren't trapped inside. The AC is another good idea.
Maybe add a wind deflector on the front to add some outside storage to go from just over cab
Definitely
Nate you’re so cool I’ll never forget shaking your hand in Denver Colorado airport thanks for being a real one
Hey, maybe a small solar panel as a wind deflector on the roof of the truck? Cannot have too much solar!
I'd take the tail gate off because I'd be paranoid that some jerk would come along and close the tailgate while I'm in the camper and then I'd be stuck. 🤣
Yes music does that. Certain songs take me back to my teenage years.
If somebody closes your tailgate while you're in there you're trapped
I'm the exact same with music, it often will take me back to certain periods of my life and the memories come flooding back in. Super cool build though! I've always theorized a camper with enough solar to run A/C continuously throughout the day and enough energy storage to run it at night. My minivan has a 100ah LFP battery and for $200 i'm legitimately impressed. What would really be exciting is if the small camping or mini A/C units became more affordable as I'd absolutely mess with that
The music and smell thing absolutely triggers me the same way! Immediately sends me back to certain times in my life. The human mind is a crazy thing.
Better hope the tailgate latch doesn't give out when you are in there,
That is a legitimate concern. Those latches do fail, and it happens with no warning.
Hey Nate - something you could consider as a storage option. You could build (or buy) a roof topper for the truck cab. Might help keep the inside of the camper a bit cleaner.
And this can help,to improve aerodynamics if tilted backward.
Sense memories are legitimately real and special. Certain fragrances and music take me back to those very moments, making it feel like yesterday. Cheers on a great little build!
Great job! I'm looking forward to your adventures in it. You could take advantage of the second row seats space in the truck for storage. Removing the seats would save some weight and having most of your heavy items midway in the vehicle would probably give you better gas mileage and handling.
If you were inside the camper, and someone closed the tailgate on you.... how would you get out? Also, the chair is a temporary fix. To get that head room and be comfortable, you have to lower your bench seat by six inches. Do it right. Great job.
It looks nice I would need more windows!😊
The feeling are called déjà vu!
It’s been a long time since I have watched your videos. The last thing I saw was you building a tiny house in the middle of nowhere. Now your building a truck camper. I will try to follow you more frequently. Guess I have allot to catch up on. I’m in Melbourne Florida. Have a great weekend.
This is really cool. I love the armhole to open the tailgate... very clever!
Nate you should just get a padded stadium seat and use it on the bench. I think it'll give you better adjustability while still being relatively thin and not eating up the floor space like a folding chair would.
Looks awesome Nate. The armchair experts and trolls never fail to amuse!! 🙄👍🌞🙋🏼♀️🚐🌏
Good to touch base. Been awhile since my last visit.
Those senses are huge in memory recall! Possibly stronger than just mentally recalling things. Proven in science (in psychology). That flooring is perfect for your RV. Durable and easy to sweep up.
Good work, buddy 👍💪
With the memories part at the beginning of the vid: I get the same way about scents and songs... They say smell is the strongest sense tied to memory, and i find that to be 110% true with myself. When i listen to some music, it takes me back to the first time listening to whatever album in what certain vehicle I owned and drove at the first time listening to that particular song/album. It's crazy... Lol .... I thought i was odd/crazy for music having an effect on me the same as scents.
Take it easy 🤙
Neat little set up you got going on there Nate! I'm impressed with how much you've learned with carpentry skiils since the inception of this channel.
Congratulations Nate
Looks great,you should be proud
has anyone said you like like a younger Jim Caviezal. Good video!
Hmm Overhead soft cabinet storage (inside the camper) might work great. Mount it so that each acts as a duffle bag. You take down, go in the house, pack it, bring it out. Easy. Keeps stuff off the floor. There are expensive ones or a pet carrier works fine for an inexpensive solution.
Your videos always put a smile on my face. I'm happy when you're happy. Congrats on a job well done. Looking forward to lots of fun adverntures.
Hey…. That smile is coming back!! Almost your jovial self!
You have come a long way since you had adapted a Honda Element into a traveling home. Love your truck camper build with the cedar tongue and grove...nice smell. Loading the camper to the back of the truck took great effort of friends and family. Congratulations on the new home build.
Nate! What a lovely truck camper build you did. From the white paint to the wood ceiling and floor...it is simply charming! Congrats on a very attractive build and best wishes to lots of fun in the sun ahead. And no time at all you'll be at a well deserved 100k! It's been fun following along your journey all these years. 🙂
Looks great !
Maybe you can make the top ceiling extend and have canvas covering the sides like those rooftop tents
Our sense of smell is a strong sense memory.
I love that the tailgate closes. I wonder if you can add an aero-cap to the front like a semi?
talented, creative dude
I’m impressed with the design, the cooking area will be interesting to see if you plan on dining inside. Py
I like my van and I’m not a truck camper but you have done a brilliant job. Very impressive. Well done.
Simple & beautiful. Air it out as long as possible. 🙏🏽my 4th year in my van I built( with help) but I know every screw and piece in there. Peace. Cedar will crack with humidity & time. Enjoy the variations. We are all impermanent.
That’s awesome! Nice job dude!
Nice job Nate 👍🏻
If you could mount roof rack rails to the truck cab you could mount a windblock from there to the top of the camper to make it more aerodynamic
Glad you thought about opening the tailgate from inside! Nice job.
Maybe you could lower the middle of that bench seat a couple of inches to give you more head room and then you can skip the chair. And could you mount your surfboard on the roof of the truck to help with wind resistance? You'd be killing four birds with two stones.
Looking good nate! How about put some cross rails on cab and add a streamlined thule container or 2. Might even help with aerodynamics and fuel mileage and might be able to fit surfboard inside
It turned out great. As with any new build it's a work in progress while you test things out and adjust accordingly. You can always add a ramp in the front to help with wind resistance. It'll give you extra storage as well.
Nate you have done a great job on that as it doesn't look gaudy. Perhaps you could get some baskets and organize your things under the bed. By the way love the flooring. Thanks!
Thank you so much for taking us on the journey, it is so inspiring! It would be great if you can post an update video as you live in it and also the total cost and time of construction
Saw you and the truck at a local coffee spot , didn’t disturb you as you were working on the laptop - nice work
You're not crazy :-) Odors and smells take a direct route to the limbic system, including the amygdala and the hippocampus, the regions related to emotion and memory.
You did it, Nate! Wow, it looks so cool and so functional. Congratulations!! 😀🚙🚀
You’re getting closer to the 100,000 subscriber mark! Keep rolling!👍
Wow, you hit all your design goals with this build, especially weight and cost. But especially stealth. I still worry about the a/c hanging out but you can 'feel' the weight better than I can just looking. It's a nice build that looks like you can adapt it fairly easily.
Nice build idea
Nice work 🙏🏻🙌🏻
Awesome build!
So happy for you Nate! Looks so good.✌️
Very nice👍
maybe put a cargo box on the cab of the truck big enough for the surf board to fit in. it could also deflect some of the wind when driving
It looks fantastic! Great job!
Looks awesome, great job Nate!
Great video looking forward to seeing the next episode
I love your video - good content
I dig it 👍🏻Awesome build
Truck needs a head unit with live rear view camera so you can see your rear whenever
That's such a cool little camper!!
Great job Nate!!😊
Nate, you are such inspiration. Thank you for sharing
Looks nice
Great video enjoy your new journey
Great job. The camper looks great!
Looks very nice!
Looks really good and comfortable, maybe you could put a wind foil in the front of the cab so the air hits it and goes over the top instead of being a resistance. But it looks really good buddy good luck stay safe stay strong stay healthy God bless
Good job !🎉
Well done! @👍✌🌞
Looks like a great build and very cozy!
You have done a lot of work! It looks great!
Nice 😊
Awesome build Nate.
Your skills get better and better! Great build🎉
Wow! 👏 Awesome build. Looking forward to seeing it become home.
Thats a pretty nice set up
Very impressive! You are very talented! Looking forward to watching what comes next.
Great build! Can't wait to see you hit the road with it.
Awesome built. You are very talented.
Suggestion about the wind hitting the top...get a long snowboard to mout on roof top to deflect the wind from hitting top of your new home, seen it done ,it does help
Nice space Nate, and yes as you use it you will figure out what needs changing. Happy travels!
I like it.
Your new home is really nice. I am wondering if when it rains, if the bed of the truck at the rear and sides, if water will get in and if it does, could the rain water rot your camper bottom and even go up the sides?
I have another thought:. Could you make a sheet of aluminum sit on the roof of your truck and angle up to the camper roof to help the air flow go up over your home and if so, would it increase gas mileage and or make it easier for your truck to go up mountain roads.
It is adorable and so low.
I love how you can close your tailgate when you are inside if you attach a chain to pull the tailgate up.
Best Wishes and wishing you lots of fun as you travel with your new home.
Rents are extremely high and makes people want to live tiny.
Wow very impressive Nate! You did an amazing job!
I cut about 10 inches off of my foam mattress to fit my TT bed and used that piece for an awesome body pillow.
Nate another great work💪in progress you will be tweeting over time🕰! Over time imagine by not able to stand🧍♂up will produce a much taller ceiling👍! Make curve across top front outside to produce great🛣🛻wind🌬flow☁☁☁! Safe Travels! always Tommy🤠
nice job
I really love the cedar, too. Nice work, Nate. 👍
Also, find a hand grip hangle on a strap, mount it on the inside of tailgate.when your inside and reach out window, grab handle to lower tailgate
Great job on the build, and your building skills have really improved. Thanks for sharing,
Really impressive, in the uk we rarely use trucks, and the van we have is smaller than your camper there, so were struggling to complete it
