Keep in mind that Pikes Peak is sometimes not fully open to the top during Spring Break. This year, the road was only open to mid-station (about 11,000 ft) - just shy of where the views get really good.
We are planning a family vacay but don't know where to start, best location to stay in a cabin where we can go skii and still explore the best places Colorado has to offer. Please help! 🙏
I would suggest looking at the towns of Frisco or Dillon/Silverthorn. Any of these three towns are in the mountains and very very close access to CO ski towns without being ski towns themselves (and much cheaper). From any of these towns it would be easy to explore and get out to do some Colorado stuff.
