Wow, gorgeous footage, thanks for sharing! Sadly for an upcoming trip, I'll only be in Denver for 3 days and won't have time to see all of this, but perhaps another time!
I am a native Coloradan who has lived here all 66 years of my life. All of my secret places are no longer a secret. A have gone to many of these places before they were commercialized, it was awesome. I never thought I would have ever seen the the day when I would have to make a reservation to go into some of the mountains. So, please when you come here treat the land and the native Coloradoan with respect!
Love this comment! I just moved here and I so appreciate the love and passion that local Coloradans have for their state. I look forward to enjoying CO with that same passion. Thank you for protecting these lands!
I have been visiting Colorado for most my life. And to me it's so sad to see the changes of how commercialized it has become. I know life will keep changing. But, to see how much the land is so full of retail is so sad. Still, I always camp, and leave my tracks cleaner than when we arrive. I love nature, and want to always preserve for other generations. No matter what state.
Crested Bute in mid to late July is stunning FYI. All the wildflowers are blooming and the weather is perfect. I drive up there, about 7 hours from me, literally every year and go camping in my Jeep.
Colorado has so much! You're list is amazing and I just randomly went to Steamboat springs this past weekend (I live in SLC) and man, the Devil's Causeway hike was amazing. and most people have never even heard of it.
Thanks Kevin for such an AMAZING review of many of Colorado's beautiful places! Just south of the Great Sand Dunes is Zapuda Falls, a short but beautiful hike of 1.3 miles that is close enough to enjoy. I've been to many of these locations as I have lived in the Denver area since 1972, but you brought to my attention a few I've never heard of. This summer I plan and visiting a few of the easier ones since I certainly can't do 5-7 mile hikes and 2000+ elevation changes! Heck, before I turned 60 it was a struggle to do Hanging Lake (1-1/4 mile hike, 1,100' elevation change). I've bookmarked your video and will be referring back to it.
It's the second pronounciation for Lake Haiyaha. I worked for a summer camp nearby in Estes where not only would we hike to that lake often, but one of the camp grounds in our summer camp was named after it so I would constantly hear that pronounciation, practically every day. Hope that helps!
I think you should add the darling young woman in your videos to your profile since she is in every shot - seems to be her channel too. : ) I love how she is always sooooooo game for the adventure - carrying loads of packs on super hard hikes, etc. She’s AMAZING!!!
Fantastic video 👍wife and I have job offers in NYC and the boulder/denver area, and we have been agonizing over the choice. We are big nature people, and videos like this are so helpful in terms of giving us a sense of what the geography looks like and the types of adventures we can expect to have. Awesome data you are providing, and definitely swinging us more towards CO.
Just came across your many videos and my parents and I loved your fantastic pictures . The picturesque springs, falls, canyons and woods are truly spectacular & patiently photographed. My parents would add “please use different vocab and not super and awesome all the time.” Love from North Queensland and Brisbane. ❤❤😂
I once was going to climb Mt. Sneffels. I camped at Lower Blue Lake and stayed for 3 nights. I think I'm still there in my mind too. Why leave paradise?
Just want to add one thing. If Visiting Black Canyon Try to do it in mid June to early July, that is when the wild flowers are blooming around there and it is just awesome! Gunnison is the wildflower capital of Colorado so when they are in bloom it is just amazing. Also when visiting Black Canyon. There are to ways to approach it, from the South, which is the main entrance and what most people do. You need to use the South entrance if you want to hike to the bottom of the canyon, Which is quit the hike, very steep grade 2,200 feet down then back up. There is also the north side which has some different views of the canyon.
Beautiful photography and exceptional drone shots. As a Colorado native, yeah there's lot's more too. And wouldn't you know it, now that your video is all done, they rename Mt Evans to Mount Blue Sky!
Dood Holy crap!!! We're going in July for a week or so and this vid really opened my eyes on what to see, im from western WA and this truly amazed me, thank you!!
No Telluride? I did visit Telluride in 1977 so I suppose it's a lot different now but one of the few places in Colorado I have been to and thought it pretty cool back then anyway. Also is Mesa Verde with the cliff dwellings and the Spanish Peaks area is close to Texas for a quick trip and an easy hike to Tinchera Peak for an accessible 13000 ft peak and great view of Spanish Peaks.
@@coloradopeoplesnews7676 I've been to Bridal Veil. It was about 45 years ago but seems I remember that you could climb up to a place where you could get behind the falls and sit there watching the water fall in front of you.
@@KevinEassa I’d also recommend Dinosaur National Monument to see the Green River canyon on the Colorado side. I would have put Colorado NM on this list, but I see that you already did a video on it.
Appears you enjoy hiking and mountains thus eastern Colorado will be a challenge for you, there are plenty of sites, not National Parks, some hiking can be involved, plenty of "imagine this scene" and from mid May to mid September take plenty of water as will be HOT. Beecher Island near Wray, Bent's Fort, dinasour tracks and Pinion Canyon south of La Junta, Camp Amache near Granada, Chorizo Canyon remote area south west of Pritchett, and Sand Creek Massacre Historic Site east of Eads plus on a lone road near the Kansas border is the Towner Bus Tragedy marker between Towner and Holly. Many of these I'm southern Colorado can be combined into a weekend trip. Explore the State's history on another level!! Then northeastern Colorado, Southwest and Northwest sites!!! The canyon country south of La Junta will amaze many who believe the Plains are flat.
I agree with the comment that Hanging Lake looks like something out of Croatia, although Plitsvice National Park in Croatia makes Hanging Lake look pretty microscopic in comparison.
That’s crazy that we’ve lived near the “DeCaLiBron” for 5 yrs and hiked it 3 times and never heard that moniker. Pretty cool. Several of us also agreed that doing them clockwise is best. It IS a little treacherous going down Bross, especially if there’s any snow/ice, but going up it was much more physically demanding. Hiking up all the loose scree seemed worse than “sliding” down it:)
Thanks Jeff! Hard to say, I would use weather dot com as a resource, they're great for planning fall colors, it's super hard to say until it's closer to Fall because climate and weather changes peak colors each year
15:25 I know this town. I took a crazy mountain road from this town to Aspen (SH-82). The Million Dollar Highway is famous for its danger factor, but this road has all the hairpins with heavy traffic and crazy drivers.
Beautiful photography that I super appreciate being house bound during the pandemic, it's keeping me sane (and envious). I just love being able to travel vicariously while on the treadmill. Curious as to where you rate Colorado N.M. and Mesa Verde.

Some things are closed like Mt Blue Sky/ Mt Evan’s. But a lot of things remain open because when it snows in Colorado it’s typically followed by sunny blue bird days so things melt fast. Plus if you have a car that drives good in bad weather you can get to most places, but definitely check certain trailheads prior to going
We’ve never used them, maybe if you plan on driving during a snowstorm. But the sun is so strong here that the road melts fast plus the snow plow. Just a good idea to track the weather and if you’re renting a car, AWD or 4WD isn’t a bad idea
