We had the best time in Shanghai exploring it's bustling streets at night! 😍
Those city lights made Shanghai look even more pretty. The Christmas markets were in full swing (and definitely not cancelled), giving us the time of our lives. We felt super chill and safe everywhere we went, even late at night. Good vibes all around! 🌃🎄✨Shanghai is definitely a different vibe at night 😍

You guys should have paid a visit to Peace Hotel which was once considered to be the grandest hotel in the entire Far East. Commissioned by a British Jews in 1930, Peace Hotel formerly called Cathey Hotel survived unscathed in the Japanese bombardment during the WW2. After the China’s civil war Cathy Hotel was briefly used as the official governmental building until 1956, when it returned to a hotel again but changed the name to Peace Hotel. Today there are thousands 5stars hotels in Shanghai but Peace Hotel remains to be one of the most prestigious.

Some interesting facts- the building resembles “Big Ben” on the Bund is the Shanghai’s Custom House. Built in 1927, it was actually designed after the real Big Ben in London.
The house with round Dom roof next to “Big Ben” is the old HSBC building which gave the “Hong Kong Shanghai Bank Corporation” its name.
There’re over 50 such historical buildings in Shanghai, each with interesting historical background. Shanghai is a fascinating place with perfect blend with west and east vibe wrapped in neo Art Deco. Just to remind everyone Shanghai in 1930s was one of the richest cities in the world on par with London, New York and Paris.

Another great vlog! I really love traveling and experiencing the cultural traditions of different nations. Honestly, for any country or region, as long as it's safe, friendly, and has basic hygiene, it will attract tourists, regardless of wealth, development, or progress. I can confidently say that any Chinese city or village far exceeds these travel standards.

I have visited China four times and visited different areas. Every time I come. I have seen great progress. The greening of the city is very good, and there are many electric cars on the streets, which proves that the Chinese government attaches great importance to environmental protection. What impressed me most is that life is very convenient, cashless society, the subway system is very new and clean, and people are very friendly. Apart from some culture shock, I think China is very safe. You can also go out late at night. China's scientific and technological level is beyond my imagination. I think the future is in China.

Believe it or not, many of those buildings are build around the same time buildings were going up in NYC during end of 19th early 20th century. So yep that’s why. Btw: if there is still the time and opportunity, you should try crossing the river with the Baidu ferry/boat. That’s how people used to cross the river 40 years ago, when Shanghai still didn’t had any bridges and well build infrastructures. Until this day, it’s still only 2 yuan! After I got my stuff, I went to register to pay, there she is, a 10 year old girl standing on small stool helping patrons with pay. When it’s my turn, I asked her how old she is and where her parents are. She said she is 10 year old and parents are in the back eating lunch. You have no idea how that encounter affects me if you have not been to my current hometown Chicago USA. A civilization difference
