All around great video to watch! Not only your attention to detail with the installations, your camera work and video editing just is very good! Thank you for your channel!
Wow, what amazing compliments. Thank you very much. Dawn works very hard with the camera work and the editing. Thank again for your very kind comment. You made our day, Tom
That is such a cool trick with the laser. Has saved me so much time. I saw it explained on one of your older videos and let me tell you….. it’s been great.
Looked like an old dry well that you found. I live in Sussex County and have a dry well that my kitchen sink, washer and basement shower and basement sink drain into. Last year the drain was backed up and found the dry well and cleaned out the line that fed it. I also have 2 septic tanks on the property one for house and one for cottage.
Nice job I am really impressed with your equipment and work ethic. You explain things well enough for me to have confidence that I could do some of this work, thanks
Great job Tom. You guys always do great work. Getting water away from the house will help the homeowner for sure. It’s finally cooling off here. I can’t wait till fall. It’s been a long hot summer here in Arkansas
Hi Alan. It’s always good to hear from you. We are enjoying the cooler working weather too. It’s been a hot summer and I am also looking forward to fall. Thank you for your compliments and enjoy the rest of your weekend, Tom
You guys fared way better than Shawn at Gates Drainage in NC. He lost a whole dump truck in an abandoned septic tank in the front yard of a job he was doing! Regarding poison ivy, I just recovered from a bad bout with it. I've learned that if you wash the poison ivy oil off your skin within 4 hours using common liquid dish soap, you should be OK.
I saw that video Stanton. Not good. The customer and us were very lucky. Look how close that hole is to their fire ring. You just know people were sitting and standing right there. Thank you for the tip. Dawn and Nick only got a little poison ivy. Thanks again and have a great evening, Tom
This was probably a dry well rather than a septic. I still have one for my grey water. It is made with stone in a circle. It's probably ridiculously old so let's hope it keeps working 😂
Seeing the gutter in the corner bye the outdoor grill was not connected, (left side of patio) had to go back in the video and noticed it was to hide the lines, lol at me.
We don't make the rules Emmett. Just last year we could have replaced the existing lines and run them to the street because the homeowner was 'grandfathered in' with his existing lines. This year the rule has changed.
I'd hazard a guess that if it's in a place where it gets below freezing, it's to help prevent ice from forming in the street/gutter . I know sump pumps in my area make walking down the road in winter dangerous . Also, it might be to try to get some of the water to dissipate in the yard to help prevent it from adding to the possibly overtaxed stormwater system .
That’s the way we do our downspouts. It’s functional and we like the way it looks. It acts as a vent. The grate can be removed if the pipe had to be cleaned, snaked, jetted or scoped. If the pipe were to ever freeze or be blocked rain water would come out the vent.
How do you guys protect yourself on the cost of the project when you come to an undisclosed problem like that? Because all that extra time, labor and rock couldn’t have been covered in the original estimate.
Hi Pete, We always have a written agreement - contract. We have this is our agreement; The price quoted is good for 15 days and is based on a clean excavation. Finding debris underground like buried logs, boulders, stumps, concrete etc.. Will result in additional charges. Thanks and have a great day, Tom
Need a permit so they get their money...its terrible. I had to pay my twp 15 dollars for me to spend 250 to get my septic tank pumped. And it needs done every 4 yrs whether its needed or not.
Nice seeing the go pro picture of the old septic tank.
Thank you David
I've said it before , it's so enjoyable to watch true professionals at work . Thanks for the video .

Definitely could be James. Thank you
i agree. with that one inlet pipe, i was thinking dry well too.
@matt1544zxc3 thank you Matt
Definitely an old dry well.

Don't you dear hurt that beautiful hosta . Lol
No hostas were harmed in the making of this video - lol
Still so weird to see you guys in my neighborhood on TH-cam lol
lol, thank you Mookieman

Thank you for sharing your thoughts Musical.
Hello, good work. I love this work. Is there any work with you?
Thank you very much Momo. I'm sorry, we are not hiring.
Permits and inspections for downspout drains? Totally ridiculous.
Yep, you should check out our last video where the town required us to get 2 permits and had an inspector stop by everyday. Thank you
Did you find Jimmy Hoffa? 😄
Lol. Hilarious TNT. We didn’t find Jimmy but, we didn’t look very good. We filled it in as quick as we could. Thanks again, Tom

Thank you for watching our video more than once - lol
How hard is it to learn Tom com laser on your excavator?
Hi Matt, I couldn’t work without our laser setup and I don’t think it’s difficult to learn. I have faith in you. Tom
@@tyelandscapinganddrainage what exact laser you have?
Our Laser - Topcon RL-H4C, no longer available. Newer version - Topcon RL-H5A
It seems insane to me to not be able to take water to the street.
We don't make the rules Emmett. Just last year we could have replaced the existing lines and run them to the street because the homeowner was 'grandfathered in' with his existing lines. This year the rule has changed.
@@tyelandscapinganddrainage yep. I wasn’t attacking you. The rules are stupid.
You are awesome. Love your work and videos!
I didn’t think you were Emmett. We’re as frustrated as you are. Thanks again, Tom

@MarshalBray thank you for your insights Marshall. It does go below freezing here most of the winter. Have a great evening
Why is there a grated air vent in front of the downspout?
That’s the way we do our downspouts. It’s functional and we like the way it looks. It acts as a vent. The grate can be removed if the pipe had to be cleaned, snaked, jetted or scoped. If the pipe were to ever freeze or be blocked rain water would come out the vent.
