    "Winning", as in finishing in first place, is NOT everything. In a big marathon race, there might be 30,000 runners who finish - EVERY ONE OF THEM IS A WINNER. In MJ's best 10 seasons, he won 6 Chips and didn't even make the Finals (didn't even finish 2nd) in the other four. In LBJ's best 10 seasons (so far), he made 10 Finals. Those "2nd place" finishes (#1 among the 15 teams in his respective conference) positively count for a lot. They MUST count for a lot more than the 4 years that MJ did not even make it to the Finals.
    By way of example: Jerry West lost in the Finals 8 times. But because he made it that far, this is a huge part of the reason why most people consider him one of the greatest players ever. LBJ made it to 8 Finals in a row; in three of those he lost to the virtually unbeatable (except by a team with him on it) GS Warriors - and in two of THOSE, he lost to easily THE greatest team of all time: the Steph-KD Warriors.
    This "If you don't finish first, you lost!" argument is THE most bankrupt argument ever: there are ZERO players or teams who would rather lose in an earlier playoff round than lose in the Finals. There are ZERO players who'd rather not make the play-offs than lose in the first round. ie., the further you/your team advances, the better. That's just basic logic.

    The biggest winner for me would be Steph and KD as their careers would skyrocket if they win a ring. Steph would definitely be in the top 10 all-time convo and KD would be close to that as well. The biggest loser would be LeBron, why? Because of the never ending GOAT debate. Imagine, heading into your 21st season and then turning 39 in a few months time and he's still being held on the highest standard wherein nothing but a championship would stop everyone from slandering him, heck even if he wins I know someone would still downplay it. MJ is still the GOAT whether you're a lebron fan or not, but I believe he's got nothing to prove and he's on the mount rushmore regardless.

      definitely. bron was also clearly not 100% due to his foot injurie but even if he was, AD would have still been the best lakers player. he basically shifted the entire match plan for each playoff opponent and could only be stopped by an absolute historic jokic performance.

      Lol, you Luka fans are so funny, you compare him to Lebron, but if a 24yo Lebron had a prime Kyrie their would be no excuses for him to not make the Finals, let alone not make the playoffs 😂 It’s crazy the double standard with Lebron, according to some people the CAVS with a young Kyrie (21-24yo) and a declining K.Love as a 3rd option was a superteam 😂 But when Giannis has a prime Dame who is much better than Kyrie+ the DPOY front runner Brook Lopez one of the best stretch 5+ an ALL STAR who was the closer on a championship team in 2021 Middleton, it’s not a superteam 😂I just don’t understand, some even say the SUNS aren’t a superteam lol, even when Ayton was supposed to be on the team you had people saying its not a superteam lol, Booker is literally on the verge of becoming a Top 5 player, he was better than KD and anybody except Jokic in the playoffs, Beal was a 30ppg scorer, and Ayton a 1st draft pick, and they had the audacity to tell me its not a superteam ? 😂If the SUNS aren’t a superteam then the Lebron HEAT weren’t a superteam lol, Booker and Beal are much better than post 2012 Wade and Bosh, and its also a better fit, Lebron never had the opportunity to play with a guy who really fit with him like Giannis with Dame, KD with Curry and vice versa, KD with Harden and vice versa, or even Jokic and Murray. The only guy who really fit with Bron is AD and he only had 1 true great season with him, just imagine if Lebron had AD between 2015 and now but AD was only injured 1 or 2 seasons… It would have been like Kobe who had the privilege to play with a prime Shaq for 8 years, except Lebron would be Shaq in this senario because he is better than AD, just like Shaq was better than Kobe … Lebron would probably have 6+ chips, but no since 2015 he only had 2 seasons with Kyrie and Love (Both injured in 2015 Finals, and Kyrie left in 2018) and 1 and a half season with AD … People will look at the names he play with and forget these players weren’t even playing most of the time lol, i’d rather have a prime Shaq for 8 years and then just a bunch of role players for 12 years than what Lebron had, if Lebron had a prime Shaq in his first 8 seasons he would already have 4 chip easily lol, just imagine a young Lebron with fresh legs and unreal athleticism+ prime Shaq, man that would be scary, at least if i was their opponents i would be scared af, that’s the 2 most dominant rim finisher ever and 2 most physically imposing players ever, after the serie every team would feel like they fought 12 rounds with a prime Mike Tyson lol

    I find it odd that Devin Booker just had two consecutive postseasons where he performed better than Durant, yet we're still viewing KD as the better player. Heck, they were on the same team this past season and Booker was better at everything besides rebounding - while seeing the same level (or higher) of defense. I don't think a Finals win does anything for KD, except say "he can fit on great teams". In addition to Booker, Pheonix also has the runnerup scoring champ from 2 seasons ago. The role players aren't bad either, The Suns are poised to be as good as 2018 GSW - certainly better than KD's 2016 OKC

    I feel like Kyrie has a lot to gain and lose in this season. He is considered a pariah at this point in a good number of people's head. The narrative being he is all time great player skill wise but because of his attitude he holds teams back. At this point people believe the only reason he won his only ring is because LeBron's strong leadership helped keep him focused and in check. A great season and a deep run this year in the playoffs could help to rebuilding his image as a winner. If Dallas struggles to be competitive a lot of blame will get pushed on Kyrie being a curse and he may find himself in a situation where teams are hesitant to bring him on.
    Personally I would love Jokic to get another ring. A small market dynasty that doesn't run a super team sounds like a dream in the NBA right now.
    And of course CP3 finally getting his championship is always something I hope for. The man deserves a ring and he is definitely on the team to help get him there.
    And then I would also love for the Clippers to potentially get one. Paul, Kwahi, and Westbrook all getting a ring would be amazing. Westbrook getting a vengeance ring after the way he was treated as a Laker would be even better.

    Would back to back titles shift our thoughts of Jokic that much? He will move from top 30 to top 20 conversion. If he adds another MVP + FMVP, possibly top 15(?)
    Steph, getting #5, would be more impactful than LeBron getting #5. Steph's 5th would move him, definitively, deep into the top 10 next to Kobe. Although the 2010's are over, it would give Steph a feather in his cap over LeBron the last 9 season to have 5 titles to LeBron's 2.
    LeBron perhaps solidifies himself in the #2 spot with another title, providing he's the FMVP. He's widely seen as a Mt.Rushmore player (top 4), so he can only move, at best, from 4 to a solid 2. And it would only amplify the 🐐 arguments for LeBron even more. But largely, his legacy is set regardless. AD, another ring + FMVP, moves him into top 20 conversion.
    Clippers, Kawhi would move into rare company with LeBron as the only players to win 3 titles with 3 franchises and win FMVP. That would move him into top 15 conversion. But he lacks the cumulative totals to justify top 10, but I'm sure the conversion will be had.
    Kevin Durant, this would be HUGE. I have him #12 all-time, but he would move up into top 10 consideration. And remove the "can't win a ring without GSW" label. Booker, like Murray in Denver, I don't think a title adds much to his legacy YET. He's still young and we can see what it unlocks.

Instead he misses almost all of his shots and loses the NBA finals to Kyrie. You have to be clutch to be a greatest of all time. Klay and Damien are just as good at shooting as Steph. • @eduardobranco8349
      @eduardobranco8349 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They havent adapted because thats nearly impossible. You think its easy to get around jokic to contest a murray 3 pointer without leaving jokic open on the short roll with shooters around him? Back in the 2000s when they were shooting long 2s with 3 or 4 guys inside the 3 point line there was a lot less ground to cover. Now as soon as dame, curry or trae cross the half court teams need to be close to them. Try bumping down the roll man only for luka to make a skip pass to the other side of the court to a spot up shooter, only for you to cheat and leave the roll man early and luka fakes the skip pass and hits the big for a dunk. Offense has never been better, so to say defenses are lacking is very misleading

Forget the MJ years, they will never see ratings like that again. Why not put 4 people guarding the 3 and leave one under the basket? Force people to shoot 15-20 footers

    • @SelfResearchedNBAFacts
      @SelfResearchedNBAFacts 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      To bring the fans back and change it something worth watching, move the 3 point line to 30 feet or do away with it entirely. Then it would be more physical and worth watching. Start calling travel and carrying and let the defender at least touch the offensive player. Scoring 30-40 points in todays NBA is like scoring 24 in 2005. That with the out of control contracts has made the NBA, the Not Buying Anything league for old school fans like me

    • @eduardobranco8349
      @eduardobranco8349 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SelfResearchedNBAFacts you cant camp under the basket. That would be defensive 3 sec violation, which is something that luka points out that makes scoring easier than in fiba. But even if this strategy worked, that would make basketball even worse to watch than what we currently have. Do you want the majority of shots being taken from 17 feet? You think that would bring in more viewers? You wanna go back to carmelo iso where the offense grinds to a halt so he can take 10 jab steps and pull up from the elbow? Do you wanna watch pistons x spurs in the finals again with the score being 70 x 60? Dont forget that 2000s had a lot of ugly basketball. Even in the 90s, go back to watch jordans last game with the bulls. The jazz would isolate malone and all the other 4 players would all group up together away from him to exploit the illegal defense rules from the 90s. Jordan was called for like 3 or 4 illegal defenses in that game, they were barely allowed to play defense outside of 1v1. Every era has its pros and cons, not one was perfect
      That being said, i 100% agree with the traveling and carrying in the nba. If you wanna watch some good basketball, watch barcelona in the euroleague. Laprovitola is balling out, and most of their shots comes after an assist. And they are not even the best team there. Real madrid is by far the best. Check it out and see if you like it
