Hey, I remember Linus helped me out with a problem with an NCIX purchase in 2009 when I had a compatibility issue with newly purchased ram and motherboard. Someone at NCIX was giving me a hassle about returning it and buying something else and Linus stepped in an took care of the entire thing. Great guy.
Well, look at you now. I saw some of your videos discussing some brazillian musics. Congrats man, I mean, every day TH-cam recommend your channel. You do great stuff.
I think a lot of us forget that back in the beginning days of TH-cam, nobody expected videos with high quality production. TH-cam was more of a home vlogger site at that time. Up until around 2012, professional grade video productions were mainly the realm of TV, not the internet. Very few people even had internet that was fast enough to watch anything over 480p at the time. Edit: My point being that your videos weren’t of disappointingly low quality at the time. They were exactly what everybody internet video to be.
true, even uploaded music videos were considered a form of piracy back then (which is understandable) and some artists and companies don't even like YT and now everyone is just over here in looking at how much views their videos have. Still remember that most videos on YT were of people uploading funny home videos and song covers. Also the fact that people love it because it had no ads back then.
The internet pun at last has me wondering "Why does that sound so clever? Like actually really clever and it surprises me that I haven't heard it before.
Exactly. That's why I never bothered with it and was convinced my career was in TV. Now I've sort of missed the boat when I could have been in there right at the beginning earning a fortune.
I remember building my first pc back in 2013 and using Linus' first pc build video as reference I ended building the exact same one because I was too scared to change anything.
I remember his video on some OCZ SSD and bought the same because he was going on about how cool it was. Then I lost my data twice and it turned out they had been selling faulty SSDs.
I did the same thing with one of Austin Evans videos back in 2012. Kept everything the same cause i was worried about incompatibility and recently last year i finally built a new computer with ease.
I did to. I remember wanting to buy the Storm Scout 2 (i think that was the case in the video) to use in my first rig. Ended not buying it because it couldn't fit the 140mm Noctua cooler i wanted.
I'm a new subscriber to the channel(less than 1 year), but I love the way he turns a "hobby" (for someone) into a real work with 8K cameras. this man is phenomenal in every way you could think🤪
The closest he has to that is the seven million subscribers video. It was titled something like seven million subscribers and none of them matter. Or was it six?
9:36 is such a perfect example of why annotations were AMAZING and TH-cam is completely stupid for removing them. You could produce interactive, curated content which worked great for super long tutorials or even "choose your own adventure" style videos. Thanks for killing this feature TH-cam, not. >_>
It was a great feature for creators who used it properly, but a lot of creators would spam them or have them displayed at all times which IMO lowered the video quality of the site as a whole
You can still make interactive content like that with the new stuff that replaced annotations. Here's a choose-your-own-adventure music video that does just that: th-cam.com/video/5ty4QADcwgs/w-d-xo.html
@@qutuz9495 You can guarantee they could have made them work properly for mobile... TH-cam wants people to watch videos in their entirety and extend watch sessions for as long as possible, it's why cards are so limited.

I also had a rash all over my entire body, and I was extremely red. Staying alive had never felt more difficult. Congrats to LMG for their success in the tech industry in general, and becoming the largest techtuber on the internet. I've watched your videos on and off since the very begining. Your videos have always been enjoyable to watch while providing good tech info at the same time. Your commitment to improving production quality over the years is very apparent and much appreciated to this viewer. I also appreciate that you don't necessarily view other techtubers as "competition". Your video collaborations with other tech creators are some of my favorite videos. I am posting this comment a few days after your first LTT PC Tech Support live stream with Steve from GN and Jayztwocents, in early August of 2020. That was very entertaining and I'm looking forward to the next one. (Which, according to Jay is next month, but we didn't hear that from him. Lol) Nice work LMG!
I live in Vancouver Canada. I witnessed the rise and fall of NCIX. I purchased quite a few computer parts from NCIX and watched many video reviews by Linus. NCIX might not be known outside of Canada, but in BC and Ontario it was pretty big. I could never have imagined that Linus would become bigger than NCIX, and I mean wayyyyyy bigger. I am so proud of him!
I've been watching Linus since 2013, he taught me who NCIX was and I was kinda sad when he announced he was leaving them. Then again when they closed their doors. He wouldn't have started making videos without them, so to me they will always be a piece of this channels history
I remember when you did the NCIX Tech Tips all those years ago, that was around the time I built my first PC. As a fellow Canuck, thanks for being a staple in computer geekdom. And your channel outlasted NCIX as a company!
So, basically, thanks Brandon for upping the game. If he didn't ask for all these upgrades, we'd still see amateur-ish videos of Linus improvising while unboxing things. XD
Yep, I'm glad that Brandon joined their team to replace Luke with his "grossly misrepresented experience in camera operation", which also had a positive side effect of putting Luke in front of the camera rather than behind it, hehe! ^^
I cannot believe I've been here since 2013, that's almost 1/3 of my life! Linus Tech Tips was the first channel I've ever subscribed to. And probably the only one I'll always stick with. I remember thinking "i wanna work with Linus one day" and went out my way to learn editing just because you released a now hiring video! I was 13 for god's sake! I didn't need to now premiere yet I did and that launched my interest in video production and from there to film making. Today I'm in film school and no matter where I end up I'll be doing what I love to do, and I owe it all to you guys. All my love to everyone at LMG but especially to Taran Linus Luke Edzel and Brandon. And who knows maybe I'll still work for you someday lol PS: You should build a fire pole then put solar panels on it to see if it charges your phone wirelessly while you slide down it
I have for sure been here before that as I remember the change to the kitchen set as a big upgrade... I think I have watched every video from there. I can't believe it either, like he did all the monitor reviews there... that was 2014 like WTF
@@ericthompson7387 It blows my mind how long I've been watching too. I remember seeing gtx 680 content and that card released in 2012 as well as that build video which I used to build my first pc with cheap crap eBay parts. I really started watching a whole lot more when they moved to the house and remember the moving vlogs being amazing and it was crazy to me back then that they were moving to a huge office from TH-cam money. It's been a good time over the years.
i was there since before you hired luke. i remember how he would not even want his reflection to be videotaped. i was there for the wan shows (both live and on demand) in your garage with snow jackets on and bad everything, i remember the stupid meme trolling during early episodes, i loved your personal exotic rigs in your old house... it was nuts and kinda porn like. the wan show has always been and still is entertaining to watch when i'm, drunk, or i'm cleaning my shop, or i'm doing boring repetitve tasks and what not. it's been a ride and i admire you. i've started my own business and i look up to you. both on a business and personal planes. you know what would be great when you'll release new merch, tho? if you'd think about your overweight and overseas fans, just sayin'
Yeah I remember all of that and I have been watching Linus for 11 plus years and counting. I have learned how to build PC's and a lot of other high and low tech projects over the years with Linus, and for that I have to say thank you Linus. Keep up the superb and outstanding work you all do at LTT and LMG. Once again thank you Linus.
This is the LTT I subscribed for! Thank you for your hard work you have endured for the years! You are the best channels out there for me! Thank you LTT.
This was extremely inspiring. Thanks for putting so much time and effort into your brand! I love watching you all do your thing and I’ve an insane amount about the tech industry over the last year watching. I set out to be a game designer and i knew that knowing tech was something that would give me an edge over other companies in the industry.
You're right, but I still remember watching the build guides at the school library with a friend when it was uploaded. That's why it feels nostalgic to me.
@@imnotnil Yeah I understand. I started watching in 2015, so for me it did feel like they were in the old house with the kitchen for way longer than a year. The first videos that got you hooked are the ones you remember the best apparently.
I think loads of subscribers came in on the moving blogs when leaving the Langley house. That's when the algorithms started putting LTT thumbnails in front of me. If you got hooked & binge watched at that point it was all house based stuff.
Auguste Dupin I also joined his channel in 2014 when they were still using the kitchen. I miss those days especially since Luke isn’t on the channel as much
The Langley house is nostalgic for me because 2013-2014 is around when I started watching the channel. When I really got into PC gaming and other PC related tech stuff. It's crazy to think I've been watching multiple TH-cam channels for 8 friggin years.
So I've been watching your videos for about 7/8 years now and I primarily started watching because I wanted to build PC's again and hadn't built one for about 10 years. Your graphics card reviews were the only ones around, at the time, that I would watch and seek out. I then was trying to plan and build a rig for college. I settled on an i5 2500k and 660ti and months of saving, although I think you only done AMD reviews back then but It's still working today and I still game on it, just! So without Linus Tech Tips it may not have been built. Thank you for being part of my life and giving me enjoyment for all these years 😀 here's to 10 more for LTT!
I bought the OCZ Vertex 2 SSD because Linus said it was good. Turns out they were selling faulty drives to get rid of them and I got one of those. Thanks Linus.
Every YTer spends money on himself, except Linus. He puts all the money back into the channel. Thx Linus :) Edit: Thx for all the support. I've never had more than 10 likes on a comment until one day before this video dropped (I got a 150 likes). But this is crazy, I have more likes than Justin Y. Rip: he got more than me now
Well he does spend on himself (personal bills don't pay themselves) but he also spent almost everything back into his compagny and created many jobs for others too! Can only applaud that all the success didn't make his head grow big and stayed pretty much himself.
Not gonna lie, I was expecting him to open up with "Yup, that's me, and you're wondering how I got myself in this situation. Well, it all started back in the summer of 2009..." queue the music.
i thought he was gonna start by saying I got my first real camera bought it at the 5 and dime i hit record ti'll my fingers bled was the summer of 69 Me and some guys from school had a you tube channel and we tried real hard LOL

12 yrs of Ltt , a lot of perseverance and at last turning out to be one of the biggest Tech channel on Planet Earth .
Cheers

Damn, sounds like Brandon is the real OG for quality increasing. He's basically been the shows producer since you hired him it sounds like.
Hi Linus. Give Brandon a raise.

So, basically, thanks Brandon for upping the game. If he didn't ask for all these upgrades, we'd still see amateur-ish videos of Linus improvising while unboxing things. XD
That's what i thought too. It sounds like they wouldn't even be close to where they are today if it wasn't for Brandon.
Yep, I'm glad that Brandon joined their team to replace Luke with his "grossly misrepresented experience in camera operation", which also had a positive side effect of putting Luke in front of the camera rather than behind it, hehe! ^^
Let's go Brandon!
And who knows maybe I'll still work for you someday lol

Let's be real the kitchen was the shit. Great lighting and a somewhat interesting backdrop. Still waiting for a spatula-perfect replica.
