King Kamsa or Kansa was the tyrant ruler of the Vrishni kingdom with its capital at Mathura. Early sources describe Kamsa as human; the Puranas describe him as an asura (demon). The Harivamśa describes him as an asura reborn in the body of a man. His royal house was called Bhoja; thus another of his names was Bhojapati. He was the cousin of Devaki, the mother of the god Krishna; Krishna ultimately fulfilled a prophecy by killing Kamsa in a final battle.

When Kans hears the prophecy of his death, he can't undo it. It would happen one way or another. Keeping Devki and Vasudev together and having their eighth son can only be a way to trick his death and for Devki and Vasudev to believe their eighth son will bring peace and fortune to the world.

There is a reason for every story.It happens in due course. Here, Yashodha in her previous birth did a "Pradosha Vrita" to get a child and Bhagavan Shiva gave boon to her that in her next life Lord himself will come to your home.
The prison is still there in Mathura....there is a big temple there called krishna janmabhoomi (birth place of krishna)

first-- devaki and vasudev are not normal people. Devaki and Vasudeva were once upon a time ardent Vishnu devotees in their previous life, lord appeared in front of them before their penance . they asked for a child like lord vishnu, vishnu said ''so be it'' three times. so lord vishnu taken birth three times to devki and vasudev. the first birth, they had a son by the name of Vrishnigarbha. Then in the second birth when devki were Goddess Aditi, then lord vishnu was his son Upendra(vamana avtar--fifth avtar of lord vishnu). this third birth lord vishnu fulfilled his promise by appearing as her son (krishna).
second -- kans killed 6 kids, 7th was balrama and 8th was krishna.
third-- yes this dungeons is still present but today there is a mosque. if u don't know, in india, 36,000 temples have been demolished by the Mughals from those times itself.
Aurangzeb attacked Mathura and destroyed that Keshavdeva temple(birth place of krishna) in 1670 and built the Shahi Eidgah in its place.

In my opinion it's actually best to question things that we feel to be genuine. Question as a took for seeking is necessary for sure . It's not at all a bad thing to question the behaviour of these individuals including Devaki. And maybe the answer to the question on why they(Vasudev and Devaki) got together is because they want to fullfill the destiny of ending the tyranny of Kans and liberate the people from his kingdom. Because they are aware of the fact that only their child can end Kans and save people. We should keep that in mind.

I also want to mention that, saints have said that whatever the leela(divine pastimes) God or God realised saints do, we must not put our intellect there bloated in pride but humbly put our mind there and extract the bliss out of it. If we are unable to understand something we must not question it in arrogance but humbly ask for understanding from our Guru or if not then pray to God sincerely.
Always remember that whatever act(divine leela) God and Guru do, it is only meant for the souls' welfare. I practice the same and eventually I have got many understandings that I was unable to get while having bloated with pride.

Parents who gave Birth to Krishna: Devaki and Vasudev (From the Royal Family - Kshatriya Clan)
Parents who took Care of Krishna: Yashoda and Nanda Maharaj (From the Royal Family - Vaishya Clan)
But it is said in the Shaatraas that the Mother who takes care of the child is more important than the mother who gave birth because The Birth-Mother bears pain for only 9 months (womb) but the Mother who takes care, inculcates Good Qualities and Good Sanskaars for the Rest of the Child's Life! She goes through all kinds of emotions and hurdles in order to make Her Child a Better Person in the society.
But please do not think that the Birth-giving mother is not at all important. Definetly she is, but out of the two, the one who takes care is given more importance.
ShriKRSNA, Although in Mathura and Vrindavan, He never can forget the Brajwaasis, His Cows, His Parents, The Gopis and especially Shrimati Radharani. Every night He would roll on the bed, crying their Names in His Sleep. He would keep all His Emotions within His heart and they just Pour out at night (He can no longer conceal them then because of keeping them within for a very long time in His Heart). Due to this continuous practice, the Wives (Queens) of Krishna became curious to know all about Their Husband. They did not know about Vrindavan or anything else.
Mother Rohini (the Mother of Balram) was the only one in the city, in the palace who witnessed Krishna's Pastimes from His Birth to His Youth, and was the only one who could tell them about it.
The Queens and Rohini stayed in a room as Rohini agreed to tell them about Krisnna's Pasitmes in Vrindavan, while Subhadra was standing as a Door-keeper outside so that Krishna and Balram do not hear and come there, because if They do so, there is a high chance of Them Leaving Everything and just running away to Vrindavan!!!
But wherever the talks of Vrindavan and the Devotees prevail, Krishna And Balram just get pulled there and stay there forever!
While Rohini Devi was narrating His Nectarean Pastimes, the Queens along with Subhadra where not in their external consciousness and were so absorbed in listening that they didn't realize that Krishna and Balram where standing at the door on either side of Subhadra, listening to Rohini Devi!!!
This incident Leads to The Historic Miracalous Pastime of Lord Krishna, Lord Balram and Their Adorable & Beloved Sister Subhadra, changing Their Forms out of Excessive Love (Being Overwhelmed by Love) for the Brajwaasis (Residents of Vrindavan, along with Radharani and Gopis); while listening to the narration, and These Very Forms are Worshipped at the Jagannath Puri Temple in Odissa, India!!!
Well afterwards krishna returned 6 sons to devaki.so no worries😂.also devaki and vasudeva were god realised so in real they were having no grief(just a leela)

He knew that Lord Viṣṇu is very clever & if he tried to stop Viṣṇu's incarnation, then something horrible might happen to him( like in narshimaa dev avatar). Hence, he chose to play safe & let the child be born, thus getting the upper hand by killing a weak new born baby. Kaṁsa, however, couldn't think of the possibility that the child won't be weak & will definitely become his cause of death.🙏🙏

14:01 No, such a cruel king cannot be very kind. If you see the beginning of the movie, Kamsa is seen torturing people, irrespective of age. Kamsa offered to ride the chariot just to show-off his so-called "affection", towards Devaki, but as soon as he heard about his death, he showed his true colours to Devaki.
26:20 to answer your confusion.. bhagvad puran tells lord Krishna was born without a sexual union. So He would have been born anyways. Lord vishnu appeard in front of Vasudev and Devaki in his original form but because they wanted the Lord as their son they requested Him to take form of an infant. Lord Vishnu then changed into infant and becasue of Yogmaya (Lord's illisionary power) both of them had forgotton everything they witnessed.

The doubt you thought of that why are they making babies if kamsa kills every. It is because they were present when the Lord declared kamsa's faith and they know that eight baby can be the end for the kamsa's bad deeds

There is a saying "विनाश काले विपरीत बुद्धि " or "Vinaashakaale Vipareetabudhhi".
This means when your destruction is coming, then it starts by destroying your wisdom first. If something bad is bound to happen to you then no matter how much you try, all your wisdom to save yourself will eventually lead to that destruction.
I think that's why he kept them together. That's my understanding 😅.
They had to bring those 6 children to earth for Krishna to take birth. Yes its all a divine play. Also the 6 children are celestial beings that were cursed by Brahma dev to be born on Earth in a demond family. So they were killed off immediately to be set free from the curse and return to Brahma loka again.

Jay and Vijay were two gate keepers at Vaikuntha(Lord Vishnu's Abode) .They were cursed by Saunkadiks (four Kumars) to be born as demons for three lifetimes and to be killed by the Lord himself. So,firstly At Sat Yug, they were born as Hiranyakashyapu and Hiranyaksha and killed by Lord Narsimha and Lord Barah respectively. At, Treta Yug, they were born as Ravana and Kumbha karna and both were killed by Lord Rama. Later, At Dwapar Yug, they were born as Kans and Shishupal and were thus killed by Lord Krishna.
So, actually Kans was Ravana in his previous life .

Vasudeva and Devakī, in their previous birth as Sutapā and Pṛśni, underwent a severe type of penance to get the Lord as their son. This was their karma so it has to happen anyways and kansa also knows this that if divine has something planned then it will definitely happen. If the were kept separated then as per the plan of Lord they would’ve definitely met in someway or other way. Some kingdom would have attacked and freed them or something else.
Narada also informed Kamsa that in his previous birth Kamsa was Kalanemi, a demon killed by Lord Vishnu.
Also first six children of Vasudeva and Devaki were certain celestial beings who were cursed to be born on earth and go back to heaven as per their karma, so anyway they had to born to face karma. The seventh son of Devaki and Vasudeva was Balarama, elder brother of Shri Kriśna who was transferred to the womb of Nandagopa's wife Rohini by Dēvi Kauśiki. And then came our dear Lord Kriśna as the eight child.
if you will read puranas etc. books, you will know there are many boons and curses are behind krishna avatar and how it should be happen and all(you will know it is The Will of The God to descend, boons & curses are just a play only). From movies and serials, we won't have much idea about the grand arrangement. But we can have very well understanding about it by reading books.
See there is story why there were seven sons died ,and why devaki tend to have them even though they can avoid get physical . It is a previous birth story of devki and previous birth story of those seven children.

Yes, that prison is partially there. In that place, Krishna was born/ appeared. So a grand temple of Lord Krishna was built in that place. During mughal attack the invaders broke some parts of temple and converted it to a mosque. The mosque is yet to be reclaimed as a temple. The previous governments in india believed in appeasement politics and never cared for reclamation. But it may soon happen.

(i forgot the purana name and characters' names) in Puranas, there is clearly a story like some 6 heavenly beings got cursed to have birth as mortal humans on earth. But the curse was reduced in form of short life span so that they can go back again to their place quickly. Devaki's 7th son was Shesha/Ananta/Shankarshan, he got transfered to womb of Rohini so Devaki did not give him birth through herself. 8th is krishna.
Similar kind of thing happened with Bhishma's elder bothers. They all were demigod Vasus including Bhishma. They all were got curse to have birth on earth as mortal humans but excluding Bhishma, they all got death by their own mother Devi Ganga(the ganga river in goddess form) so that they can be at their Loka very quickly.
Another story like this: While reading Mahabharata(full), you will know Abhimanyu was avatar of son of Chandra Dev. On request of Chandra Dev, he was born with short life span so he got killed at very young age so that Chandra Dev can be with his son very quickly.
