I love how these reactions treat Tom as some kind of eldritch horror everytime he comes over - even though we and the characters never see him leave.
Right? It's like.. if you hear goofy singing off in the distance coming towards your house, you get a chill like your heart's been plunged in ice, and all you can do is lock your doors, hope it doesn't crawl all over the outside of your house in an attempt to find a way in and if it does.. all you can do is try to ignore its presence and pray it goes away before it stuffs you full of weird jams and small fish and makes you sing. I mean, that's how I'd treat him, anyway. 🤷🏻♀
"Lord of the Things" was actually funny, Boromir; don't let Grand-elf bully you.
It almost works, though. Earlier this season Nori and Gandalf say they are looking for what they call a "Gand." Which is weird unless you know a gand is a traditional name for a staff. It's also probably where "wand" came from (warranty/guarranty, warden/guardian).
So when they call him "Grand-Elf" it was probably just "Elf" originally and then the writers realized the audience wouldn't be following their wordplay that closely.
So "Elf with a walking stick" became "big/old elf" instead.
Edit: Huh. I looked it up and.... I was right, gandalf literally came from Wand Elf and Tolkien was being funny.
A gand is also a walking stick or a staff though, so he probably knew that too as an English professor.
Balrog can't even slumber his remaining days in the deep places of the world... all because of petty little Dwarves.

Wouldnt surprise me if next season js Gandalf hunts his hat, the next one Gandalf gets his cloak, and probably last episode of the show they’ll remember about the other storylines and have him do a cameo next to Galadriel in the last 5 minutes.

It's amazing that Charlie's Tom Bombadil is much more true to the feel and style of Tolkien than the awful adaptation.

Surprised you didn't mention how Arondir somehow survived when the previous episode seemed to set up him up dying. Did the writers somehow forget that he was clearly supposed to die in that moment?

We saw Galadriel walk away unscratched from being hit with a pyroclastic flow, so naturally she is unaffected from being stabbed in the chest and then falling from a 500 foot high cliff. She's the Wile E Coyote of Middle Earth.

I hate what they did with Tolkien's incredible works, but at least this video came out and cheered me up as a result.
What if you did a vid where anakin explains him turning evil to the fellowship in a way that makes it seem like he was justified, and then Obi wan objects to that but then qui gon sides with anakin and everyone laughs at obi wan?
They really phoned it in with this season. I can't get over the new "Gandalf", the "Not-Saruman", the underwhelming fight between Sauron and Galadriel and the cringeworthy dialogue. I know there are bits and pieces that are glimmers of hope but honestly, why 3 more seasons of this? Just put us out of our misery.

They did well. It had lot of great moments... this chud would be fuming regardless of how the fight would go. There would never be praise for celebrimbor scenes and death, or adars scenes.. nah, it be the miserable bitching and fuming.. but never not watching.

The actual reason for Gandalf's name isn't much better. It's Gand Elf meaning wand elf.
Staff elf actually. "Gand" means "staff" although a wizard's staff is similar in function to a magician's wand, so the confusion is understandable.
