  • This one is convicting. May we humble ourselves and understand that what Jesus did on the cross is enough, will forever be enough, and be what justifies us. We are not better than anyone else, and may we never forget what Jesus saved us from! God bless you my friends. Stay in the word.

I needed this message. Right now my husband who is diagnosed with young onset Parkinson's disease has wrecked our car for the second time. Even though I don't understand God's ways, this hard season has truly made me realize that God never fails to show you and teach you through your pain. I need to remember to love even when it's hard. That's what makes us a disciple of Christ.

This world could be so different if each of us truly loved one another and also realized that we can't even take our next breath unless it comes from our Lord and Savior!! Thank you Jesus for paying a debt that you didn't even owe!!

Great message. Walking the tension between obedience and pride is one of the toughest things about walking with Jesus, which is why our motivations for obeying him are so critical - only God can give us the right heart in these things. Are we striving to be the people we want to be (and know we are not), or are we doing what we do out of gratitude and love for Jesus? One motive leads to pride and a loveless, dutiful obedience, and the other leads to genuine humility and gratitude over what our Savior has done. One leads to looking at others with an attitude of judgment, one leads to looking at others with a heart of love and redemption. Pride says "Here I am..." Humility says "There you are.."
God bless you and keep you brother,
    Steven

When I hear scriptures like these it raises a question that seems to stir many up. The question is: Since Jesus came to seek and to save that which was lost, did He succeed?

The entirety of Christianity and society is how Pastors and Teachers interpret and teach Romans 7:7-24 and if you actually believe 1 John 3:9 and understand how it is applied to each true believer in harmony with all of the New Covenant.

The Holy Spirit is God, God the Spirit.
    John 4:24
God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
    John 14:26
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
    Mark 1:8
I indeed baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit".
    Luke 2:26
And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.

👑 How Does Christ Make Us More Righteous Than A Pharisee?
Christ died to fulfill the law, not to abolish it. He died to cover our sins in His blood & to circumcise our sin nature to keep us from sinning anymore.
He imputes His righteousness upon us to mitigate us from sinning any longer, as long as we’re willing and obedient to His entire Word - He’ll help us out along the way through His grace & mercy.
He didn’t die just so people could keep ordering Chinese pork takeout, God didn’t create us to eat pigs & He didn’t create them for us to eat either - from the beginning there was a distinction between clean & unclean animals God allowed for sacrifice & consumption. God & Jesus have never considered unclean animals food, nor did Paul - all of Paul’s doctrines reconcile to Christ but many people have misinterpreted his doctrines. (Peter’s sheet was talking about gentiles, Christ was talking about unwashed hands & Paul was talking about vegetarianism.)
God did ratify a lot of the mosaic law through His covenant in Christ; including animal sacrifices, because Jesus is the last one true, eternal, spotless, lamb sacrifice & instead of circumcising our loins, he circumcises the sin nature out of us & He also converted all the temple service laws towards Christ, because the body of Christ is the third spiritual temple.
It says in 1 John 2 & 3 that anyone who keeps breaking God’s commandments & laws are unrighteous. It says in the Bible all sin breaks one of God’s commandments or laws, anyone who keeps going against God’s creation & the way He made things to be, is unrighteous.
Christ died to free us from the curse of the punishment under the law, to free us from not being able to resist breaking the law.
We are supposed to be righteous law, abiding citizens in the government of the kingdom of God, through Christ’s righteousness.
Jesus told us to be more righteous than the Pharisees, who provided no mercy and grace; Christ was the fulfillment of God’s mercy and grace, the Pharisees, however, were unforgiving and even added their traditions & oral laws on top of God‘s laws acting as the authority - even beyond or above God.
God judges us by the heart, if we’re not truly trying to be righteous above God’s laws, He may judge us under the law, without any mercy or forgiveness.
Today the church is more tolerant of sin than it has ever been. All sin, stems from the root of pride and going against the way God created things to be. God does not tolerate sin or unrighteousness but God provides grace and mercy through Christ for those who do repent or are trying to live a life of repentance by picking up their cross daily - those truly trying to understand God’s Word with godly remorse.
God allows us to make righteous judgments by telling others to repent after we ourselves have repented, don’t confuse as being the judge, jury or executioner - that’s God’s job.
If someone is living in sin, we must tell them to repent and if they do not listen, they should be kicked out of the church until they repent just as Paul stated about those living in adultery.
Many people are tolerating others in the church willfully living in sin, justifying their behavior by preaching blind love & acceptance.
After their sin has been exposed & called out, if & and when they repent - we should welcome them back in like the wayward son & not deny them like a Pharisee; this is how Christ intends us to be more righteous than the Pharisee’s.
God and Jesus can* provide unlimited grace but that’s only contingent upon true intent, godly remorse & repentance.
But we must not keep denying Him by grieving His Spirit of Truth, claiming things from God are from the devil, or trying to become like God or better than Him - a servant can never transcend His master, when it comes to Our Heavenly Father; but we can be like His Son!
You have to understand that the spirit of lawlessness is against Christ, it is the spirit of the antichrist.
God gifted us His Son, His Word & has sacrificed His key of Truth - when we copy Christ, we ourselves fit into the lock of God’s door, gaining unlimited access to The Father & His House by living like the way God & Christ always intended us to live.

If a person abides in CHRIST there is nothing in all of creation that can separate them from HIM. If we fail to abide in HIM we separate ourselves.

Being contempt (thinking you are better than they are and better than everyone else) is a sin! It’s linked to being prideful which is also a sin! My ex friend turned prideful on her own theories and worshipping Satan too. God saved me from her wrathful spirit. It’s a hard struggle to accept people who have hurt you but I’m praying more and asking God to help me heal and to help me forgive. Forgiving people is very hard to do. On the subject of being pride and sinning by being contempt: According to Scripture, all people are created by God in his image. God loves every human. So, by showing contempt for others, especially the poor, we are dishonoring God, putting ourselves above him and expressing contempt for our maker. In Matthew 25:31-45 Jesus makes the connection clear. So don’t be contempt! Don’t be prideful! Repent and turn to God almighty!

Jesus Christ knows the heart of man. Christ knows mans need for Grace and Mercy because man can never become sinlessly perfect accept by faith in the blood that Christ shed on the cross and the finished work that Christ completed on the cross.
    David Celebrates the Same Truth
But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works:
“Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven,
    And whose sins are covered;
Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.”
    (Romans 4:5 - 8)
Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all (Romans 4:16)

Snap out of it. All of your sins will not be counted against you. However , after you are forgiven of all, you must conduct yourself as an adopted son of God. You cannot return to your old ways. Your new fruit will reveal if it's still rotten.

@@ChurchOfKentucky AMEN... The Pharisees were self-righteous just like a lot of religious people today who don't understand the gospel of grace and the finished work that Christ completed on the cross. Faith alone, in Christ alone.
      Romans 4:2
For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God.
      Romans 4:3
For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”

@@paulgemme6056 You have been deceived by "faith alone" demons. It was finished for Jesus Christ but he gave you his baton to begin your sacrifice. - Romans 12:1
Faith without radical love will send you to the garbage can, as will fornication, love of money, arrogance, murder, hatred, etc. - 1 Timothy 5:8
When Paul speaks of works you are getting confused by your own works and works of the law. Do you think that the wicked go to heaven ? God will not be mocked.
