  • There are many false doctrines in the world, and these two must be avoided at all costs! As Christians, sometimes we go from one extreme to the next. In this video, we talk about the two commands Jesus gives us that every Christian must obey if we want to follow Him! Hell is a real place, and He desires that no one goes there! Be blessed my friends.

Once I came back to Christ, Holy Spirit revealed to me these two things: Jesus simplified the law. He summed them all up into two commands. Love God first and above all, and love your neighbor as you love yourself. Simple enough; however, He also made them more difficult when He said things like “if you even look at a woman with lust you have committed adultery, thereby demonstrating how it all begins in the heart. But the truth revealed is when you put God above all earthly things and you truly love your neighbor (who is your neighbor? Everyone) you will not, even cannot live in those sinful ways. Law: do not commit adultery (physical act). Jesus: do not even look/think/ conspire (heart motivation). I try (and fail often) to walk in this way. When these types of thoughts creep in pray for Spirit to remove them and he will.
Thank you for this teaching, brother. Yah bless. Maranatha

Paul tells us in Galatians Chapter 5 exactly how we should stand fast in the liberty of Christ who set us free from the slavery and bondage of the law and that we should walk always in The Spirit and we will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh but that we will produce the good fruit of The Spirit, which is love, peace, joy, kindness, gentleness etc...Hope this helps anyone needing understanding . Reading and meditating on this section of scripture really helped me in my walk. We are set free from captivity thanks to our Savior Jesus Christ!!! That is the good news!!! And brings great joy in me, it removes that weight of condemnation from us! It's not a ticket to sin freely but by focusing on Him and His Truth we can stand in confidence in Him that we are no longer a slave to it or the law. Believe Jesus!!!

Salvation by God's grace through faith is just the beginning. Following that comes a lifetime and lifestyle of producing good fruit (works) because you are saved. The Bible says that if a person is truly saved, that person will produce fruit in keeping with repentance, and faith without works is dead. Are there a lot of people in churches who are working to show that they are saved? Yes. Are there also people in churches who have a zeal to do the will of God because He saved them? Yes, there are some, but not near as many as those who are working to show others that they are saved. People who are saved will naturally produce good fruit while the unsaved are always striving to show off their works. It is easy to tell the difference because the latter will produce bad fruit that is not in line with God's will or Word, and their relationship with God will be stagnant and unproductive in growing His kingdom. Because of the lack of this teaching and understanding in the churches today, many thousands, I think millions, of people are being sentenced to hell from churches around the world. Nice teaching, GlassHouse. I'm still waiting for you to play that Taylor for us :)

I'm glad you're talking about the heart and the spirit.
Today's churches are FILLED with faux righteousness, worldly "pastors" akin to what we see in Jeremiah's day.
The LORD said "when you pray, pray like this" and also knew the hearts of the CORPORATE prayer types, the narcissism it breeds, waxing worse and worse. JESUS spoke out against the type that "LOVE to be SEEN praying in public".
    Oh, don't they?
It should be people walking in fear of GOD, in sincerity and truth but it's all too common to see people trying to 'out holy' the others. It's all SO discouraging. I can't imagine that GOD is happy with any of it. "The whole world lies in the lap of the wicked one" Indeed.

There is a lot of me and I in your sermons. Our salvation is based of what God did, not what we did. The good works we perform in the body of christ are good for man to see the work of God in us, but it doesn't add or subtract from our salvation. Once you believe, you are sealed. The word needs to be divided correctly. It's not about how you love God, its how God loved us.
Love God with all your heart soul and mind, is the only way to love your naubour as yourself. Because God shows us what that means, otherwise we would only do so under our own understanding, our puffed up self-righteousness.

I see that if you love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, body, spirit and strength and love your neighbor as yourself, you have fulfilled all the law and the prophets, and I pray this every day, and even to love my enemies, but for instance, how then do I translate that law of love to what Jesus said about adultery, when He said that if people divorce except for fornication (original word) and marry another they committ adultery? These are specific words and instructions to all of us. It seems like most of the church today just want to slather the whole situation with what they call "love and forgiveness" and then just "get on with your life", because God surely does not want you to be alone and unhappy. I am just using one example of warnings and commandments from the Bible, but this is very relevant in the world today, especially the church world. Thank you for your reply

I agree. Lordship Salvation and Free grace, as well as legalism and hyper grace, are all false though they have some truths. I'm just now trying to recover from free grace which teaches that a believer can be without change, but I also used to believe in Lordship Salvation without the label, which taught you basically to always doubt salvation if you sin. For someone like me who overthinks everything, these doctrines are a stumbling block for me. I realized that a little bit of leaven, leavens the whole lump. It seems that the middle ground is always the best option in disagreeing doctrines (same goes for Calvinism and Arminianism).
Though you seem to imply that we go to heaven based on our hearts actions. I disagree. We are saved by grace alone through faith alone in the finished work of christ alone, though I agree that those born again have a heart and attitude change. We live an honorable life for him because he first loved and saved us, not to be loved or saved by Him.

Amen, thanks for sharing this. Yes, we are saved by grace through faith alone (Eph 2:8-9). However, if we’ve truly received that grace and justification then it will result in action. How then would one make sense of Matthew 25, the separation of sheep and goats? If one has truly received grace through faith, there will be action. In this particular passage, its about what they actually did or didn’t do based on these two commands.
What do you make of this passage? (Matt 25:31-46).

@@glasshousetvofficialI agree with the result or by product of faith being a change in action. But we also cannot forget we can still fall in sin.
I'm not to sure about the Goats and Sheep judgement too much, I like hearing other views. I seem to lean more to the view that says this happens during the millennial reign of Christ. Because the Goat and Sheep judgement isn't the Great White Throne judgement nor is it the bema judgement seat of Christ.

If this was the Old Testament Pre Jesus, then God's Law was the only way. Unfortunately, Sin made it impossible, so if the Old Testament was still upheld? Then it would be unjust of God, the antithesis of his love.
Thus, in the New Testament Post Jesus' Sacrifice for God's Wrath against Sin. Jesus is the only way, as we all fall short from God's expectations.
Now, that isn't to say one can stop following God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. But to keep trying. Fall and rise. Fall and rise. In faith to Jesus.

So, walking in the Light, 1 John 1:7 is legalism? Walking by the Spirit is legalism? Romans 8 Obeying the Lord's commandments is legalism? 1 John Doing the will of the Father is legalism? Matt 7:21 and if we hear the words of Christ and we do them, that is legalism? Matt 7:24
Eph 2:8-9 the works that are mentioned by which you boast are works of the law, not works of faith. In Romans 3:27 it says that boasting is excluded through the law of faith, and the faith in Eph 2 is not a dead faith or faith only, it is an obedient faith James 2.
So, if you believe in the sinner's prayer, you are working.....if you repent, you are working.....confess, you are working......
We are saved by faith, an obedient faith, not a dead faith and we become children of God by faith when we have been baptized into Christ, Gal 3:26-27

I don't agree with hyper grace but we need to understand that it's belief in Christ's finished work that saves us; God does chastise us for our sin when we walk in the flesh. But we also cannot go around judging believers by "good fruits." Good or bad fruit are an outward reflection of what a person believes.
Moses killed an Egyptian. He also disobeyed God when he struck the rock with his staff for water and he and God's people were punished by not entering into the Promised Land.
Isaiah walked the land for 3-years naked. (Oh how many would judge this behavior of a Godly prophet of today! Many would ask if he was "truly" saved. "Certainly bad fruit!") But Isaiah was obedient to God through his nakedness.
Jonah disobeyed God. His punishment was being swallowed by a whale.
David committed adultery and had Bathsheba's husband, Uriah killed. David was punished by the loss of his baby.
Peter cut off a soldier's ear and denied Christ 3-times but Jesus never stopped loving His beloved disciple.
Lastly, the thief on the cross had no good works to show. What was his fruit? His belief was his fruit; he believed that Christ was the Messiah, the Son of the Iiving God. Belief in Christ's completed work of the cross is what saves a person not good works nor is it proof of good works.
Believers are being sanctified and being transformed into the image of Christ. It's not an overnight process but it's the Holy Spirit who is drawing us from the world, not ourselves. And it's through Him that produces good works not the other way around. Apart from Christ, we cannot save ourselves. Our righteousness is like filthy rags to a perfect and Holy God (Isa 64:6) We need a righteous Savior to save us and reconcile us to our perfect and holy Father. Now that we are in Christ, we can have assuance He is the one sanctifying His believers; it's an on-going process.

    Let no man deceive you…
    Matthew 7:21-23 | KJV
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful WORKS? 👈 (appealing to their works and not the saviour, here they called Him Lord and appealed to their works and yet were still not saved. How can they be doing the will of God which you say is obedience when they appeal to those works of obedience and they are told depart from me?)
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (The unforgiven who tried to work for salvation instead of receiving the gift by faith)
What’s the will of the Father for us? To trust only the blood of the saviour and not our own works.
    John 6:40 | KJV
“And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.”
The will of the Father is to believe on the son for salvation. Born again. Once a son always a son. He will never leave nor forsake us. Sealed until the day of redemption. You can’t lose your salvation by what you do, because it was not received by what you did. You can’t work and try to pay for a free gift, otherwise it’s no longer a gift. (Romans 11:6)
    Once saved always saved.

Okay, going to put this out there. The only part of scripture written by the "finger of God" IS the 10 commandments. Written in stone too. the first 4 of the 10 teach us to "love God" the remaining 6 teach us to "love others as ourselves". So, truly, Jesus IS talking about the full 10 commandments given to Moses and mankind. Just a way of looking at it. Personally, I believe something that God took the time to give to mankind written by himself is (forgive the pun) written in stone :)

We are made perfectly sinless/righteous by the blood of the Lamb (Christ) not by our actions (not of works). Then we would have reason to boast. (Look at how good I am) There is none good no not one.
We are not under law but under Grace.
      Romans 6:14
For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
      Romans 6:15
From Slaves of Sin to Slaves of God
What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!
The law kills, the Spirit gives life.
      2 Corinthians 3:6
who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
      Galatians 5:16
      Walking in the Spirit
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
We sin every day. Our sins are forgiven, past, present and future.
      1 John 1:8 - 10
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

All Scripture was inspired by God. The Word of God is Spirit. God removed our hearts of "stone", and gave us a heart of flesh, and wrote His Laws upon them. The Laws written on Stone, were written for people who walked according to their flesh, not according to their spirits, like we do. Those Laws written in Stone were written for those people that walked according to the flesh. We are a "Set apart" group of people that walk according to the Spirit/spirit, and not by the letter of the Law. We are under Grace, not the Law.

@@sandragambrel9721 Jesus will not teach anything that is contrary to other scriptures. I will say again " the first 4 of the 10, teach us to Love God, the last 6 of the 10, teach us to love our neighbor as ourselves". So, is Jesus not really speaking of the original Moral Law? Yes I agree that through the Spirit and Grace (of what Christ did for us) that we CAN keep the Moral Law. So, what about the original 10 do you have problems with? Are they multiple choice? I am trying to say that Jesus is NOT doing away with the Moral Law (that was written in stone). The Moral Law IS eternal. Which of these 10 - or the 2 that Christ speaks of (which is the 10) can we do without? I am saying that Christ is not lifting the moral law - but saying that through Him we CAN keep the Moral Law. Because Christ himself states - Not one jot or one tittle shall pass from the law until ALL be fulfilled. Throughout the new testament the power of "grace" strengthens that of the old testament - but does NOT undo old scripture "shall we sin because we are under grace - God forbid" - "sin is transgression of the Law".

One of the keys in understanding this subject is realizing that Jesus was teaching old covenant law to old covenant Jews. He was asked; what is the great commandment in the law?
Pretty much all of what you described is life in and from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
There is no law in the tree of life. Tree of knowledge is living from the soul, from the natural, according to the flesh.
Tree of life is living in and from the Spirit.
Identity is a key. If we believe that we are sinners, saved by grace, we ultimately act like sinners.
If we realize that we are new creations in Christ, one with Him, and as He is, so we are in this world.
Bottom line is, we will always behave in accordance with who we THINK we are, who we believe ourselves to be.
When we truly realize that Jesus is in us and we are in Him, and that we were born again by His resurrection and we are the righteousness of God in Him, our behavior becomes His behavior and vice versa.

❤ Having started with Paul writing Timothy, HOW DOES PAUL KNOW WHAT THE SPIRIT SAYS? A demonstrated life by both the Lord and Christian to another Christian built on hearing the Helper Jesus promised He would send as His aid-de-camp, earthly REplacement. God’s ongoing entirety of Creation sees a set of people called out of the world to enjoy fellowship with Him as co-creators (small c) as we assist in making disciples. Assuming we do that. The cross enables that but then what about everyone content to read, listen, argue doctrine or clap/say Amen about the impending end-times? Riding on the coattails of those encouraged and trained and martyred? Look to the original Greek grammar and decide. He speaks to his bona fide, followers that do not fall away in the face of a new way of living. Not to those afraid the cost is unnecessary or too high. This does not an opinion but merely confirms those of the Holy.

Shalom man of God and many blessings to you and to your beautiful wife and families (personal/ministries).
I agree with you on many of the truths you have shared. It is an heart issue.
The two greatest commandments teach us this.
It takes love to walk in the ways of The Messiah Jesus Christ/Yehushua Hamashiach. And in order to walk in this love, it takes being filled with The Holy Spirit.
Because that is how The Messiah fulfilled The Law.
He fulfilled it through The Holy Spirit. He walked in The Spirit and not in His flesh.
Even though His humanity is divine, He came into the earth to teach His people and teach those in the world who would accept Him, that divine morality is expressed through a Spirit led life.
The Law teaches us about the true origin of morality. It is divine. The Most High's morality is spiritual, not natural. This is also why we see the apostle Paul state that the law is spiritual in Romans 7:14. Morality is designed to be expressed from our spirit man and not from the realms of the soul and the flesh.
So when The Messiah told His people that their righteousness had to exceed the righteousness of the scribes and the Pharisees, it is because they were trying to keep the law through their traditions and religious practices. They were hosting hypocrisy in their keeping of the law. They were promoting self righteousness and not true righteousness which is expressed through the pure love of The Most High GOD.
We are instructed to keep The Messiah's commandments. We see this in many scriptures, such as John 14:15-26.
And in John 15 we will see Him giving the same instructions. And this instruction continues to point back to the primary nature and spirit we are to express while keeping His commandments, which is love.
It is The Holy Spirit that teaches us how to walk in The Most High's love.
So the law is not done away with.
We are no longer under the curse of the law.
If this is a little challenging for some to understand, I believe Romans 7 is a helpful lesson regarding the law.
In verses 1-6 the apostle Paul compares our relationship with morality to the sacred covenant of marriage.
In these verses of Scripture Paul shows us the difference between being married to the law and being married to Christ.
If we are married to the law, there is no real life present within the life of the believer, because redemption is not present. It is the redemption of Christ that brings life into the believer.
So if we are married to Christ, life is present. And life is being produced because The Messiah is fulfilling the law through us by The Holy Spirit.
To live in Christ is to be free from breaking The Law. Because we are living His life under the government of The Holy Spirit (Romans 8).
If we are living in Christ under the government of The Holy Spirit then we are also walking in His love. It is this love that flows freely from a heart that is regenerating through the gift of redemption.
To live under the law outside of living in Christ is to place oneself back into bondage and under the curse of The Law.
We cannot fulfill The Law with our flesh and soul. We have to have a much more powerful Being helping us walk in the divine morality of The Messiah and The Godhead. And that takes faith.
It is The Holy Spirit that convicts us when we express The life of Christ in an unfruitful manner or when we step out of His nature as Love. It is this conviction that teaches us about the divine morality we are designed to express through Christ. The entire Bible is built around real spiritual laws. It takes having faith in Christ and being governed under The Holy Spirit in order to learn how to exercise those laws through our lives.
Because The Most High has stated that He would "put His laws into the hearts of His people, into those who belong to Him. And He will put His laws into their minds. He will write them." (Hebrews 10:16).
That particular verse alone shows us that The Most High didn't get rid of His laws. This life is built around real spiritual laws. If this were not true, then there would not be any need for the spiritual law that supports "sowing and reaping."
Thank you man of God for allowing me to share this with you. I hope this doesn't come off as offensive or confusing.
It took me quite some time to understand this sensitive lesson myself. And for years I too thought The Messiah did away with The Law. But many of us were taught incorrectly about this subject. As shared before, this entire life and existence we are engaging in is built around laws, spiritual laws. And when they are broken, we see the consequences of those choices. For instance, if a believer were to engage in gossip or backbiting. There is a law that backs that behavior. It would be found under the law that instructs us to not murder or kill.
That believer will end up opening a door to The Most High's judgement and even personal experiences with gossip and backbiting. That behavior will be expressed in the believer's life like a two edged sword. It will come around and deal with the believer in a fashion that brings demonic activity and judgement.
Or if a believer were to embrace spiritual practices that host horoscope readings or wearing crystals, worshiping ancestors, and burning sage, there are spiritual laws in certain books of The Old Testament that teach us how we are not to engage in such practices. The believer doesn't realize they are giving demonic spirits legal right to inhabit their life. This is why repentance has to be genuine. And we have to be serious about not wanting sin in our lives. Spiritual laws must be respected or we will end up reaping unhealthy consequences.
The Holy Spirit comes with a real authentic conviction. And He will not hesitate to convict us when we are going in the wrong direction. A believer places himself or herself in a very dangerous position when that conviction is ignored or rejected or overridden by the believer. The Holy Spirit is a real Helper in this walk. He teaches us about the beauty of The Most High's morality and how to give a pure and holy expression of that morality in both the earth realm and spirit realm.
GOD Bless you and Shalom unto you and to your beautiful wife and families.

I think where I would differ with this is Jesus said he came not to destroy the law, but to fulfil the law. The reason he had to fulfil the law is because no one else could fulfil the law. That is why he came to fulfil it for us, you and I cannot live a sinless life and that is what it takes to go to heaven. 2 Corinthians 5:21 For he has made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin (Jesus), that we might be made the righteousness of God in him (Jesus). He is our righteousness because we cannot fulfil the law, he died for the sinner because we cannot live a perfect life in this body that must be glorified to live in perfection. Titus 3:5 Not by righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. We are to love because that is the only way to obey the commandments as we grow in that love. Ephesians 3:14-21. You are trying to live in a state of perfection, but that is why we put our trust in what he has done for us, because we can't do it ourselves. Sanctification is a lifelong process. Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is our reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God. It takes the renewing of our minds in his word, and that takes time in his word to know how and then to be a doer of the word and not a hearer only.

So, based on your philosophy if your heart is right because he looks at the heart and it's all about the heart even though Jesus warned us that the heart is evil and all kinds of evil comes out of it that your heart can determine whether or not you're in sin that is exactly what you're saying

Jesus said, "if you love me, keep my commandments." There is a huge emphasis on "legalism" in charismatic circles. However, most charismatic churches follow after the Nicolaitans' doctrine of permissiveness and hyper-grace. Jesus hated their doctrine. Those who teach the principles that Paul taught are now called "legalists" or "religious." We are not saved by works. We are also not preserved by cheap grace. People need to listen to the convictions of the Spirit and heed them. When they do, those who do not have those convictions need to respect their weaker brothers and not belittle them for heeding those convictions. If our constant drive is to conform to the ways, desires and customs of the world, we are not likely being transformed into the likeness of Christ. I would submit that compromise is a much bigger problem in the modern church than Legalism. Both are wrong but only one of them gets attention by the typical seeker friendly pastors that promulgate our pulpits. Why is that?
