I cried like a baby the first time I saw this performance. I didn't know what he was singing about, but the love and longing translates regardless of language. I can appreciate the vocal skill he possesses for sure, but what really touches me is the emotion and the soul. I'm not sure if it's been mentioned or not, but this song is written by him. Thank you for the reaction! I love seeing things for the first time again!
He's worth viewing his other performances on the show. Tengri also taught Hua Chenyu a vocal sound he uses in one of his performance. Tengri also did a duet with Dimash.
Yes that was incredible I remember the first time I was this I was sitting there with my mouth wide open overwhelmed at what I was hearing and watching. So grateful for TH-cam for allowing me to find all this amazing music and artist and you are absolutely refreshing and so much fun love your reactions. ........ ONE LOVE ♥️
also there is a young singer, Ayunga, (from Super Vocal Group) that is being compared to Tengri for his emotional songs of Mongolian origin- link is th-cam.com/video/1s-dX8i0pZw/w-d-xo.html w/ Mongolian throat singer :-) Per fan Tsogtsaikhan Battsengel - they say "I am always happy to see Mongolian people doing great. Congratulation Ayanga (Lightening or thunder in Mongolian). Wonderful and emotional performance. To feel the song more, I will translate the lyrics into English for who doesn't understand Mongolian or Chinese subtitle (at non-professional level)." Song name: Shar tal - (Yellow Steppe) I sat on the edge of Shar tal until the moon rises high When I miss my family, I sing the song in pain Since there is no paper, I will write a letter on my coat Since there is no ink, I will write with my blood
I told you that you would have a visceral response. I have have seen this many times, and it still moves me each time I see it. No other singer triggers me like this guy does. Thanks for reacting to this clip.
Thank you! I'm bringing this video back as an encore soon due to it being blocked in 260+ countries. I'm hopeful it will go through with proper edits and people who love Tengri can enjoy it, too. Love hearing from you!🌟
Christie, a new subscriber, a big fan of yours. I spent yesterday catching up on your previous videos. In this video, you might have noticed another contestant in the show, in a greenish shirt, in incredulous mouth opened in shock. He is Hua Chenyu, and finished runner up that season in the show. He did a version of "Heaven" a few years ago, which is stunning, it is ethereal. You will become an instant Hua Chenyu fan if you react to "Heaven", "Child", or "Fake Monk". Hua considers the voice just another instrument and he showcases it. My second favorite singer today just behind Dimash.
I always enjoy his performances, old world Chinese is so lovely. He always wears traditional clothes...and that beautiful smile. Such control. And Singer has the best orchestra in the world.
Wow! Incredible! I did not know a word of what he was singing about (till you mentioned some of it in your reaction) but it did not matter - it still spoke directly to the heart, it stirred the soul, it got to the core of longing and belonging and hope and sorrow and worry and the open steppes and the long ride home, not knowing if home will be there or had moved on. ... What a stupendous performer and incredible vocal control! I now want to listen to everything he'd ever sang. Absolutely fantastic. You said: "That's you want as an artist ... to touch people, to be able to transport them and bring them to another level." Exactly. Oh! So exactly! Yay for these excellent reacts! Whoever the subscribers are who recommend those to you -- you go, people! Excellent stuff, that, and a lot of artists I did not know about and you are introducing me to through your reactions. :) If you're on the look out for a less exotic but excellent rendition of a song, perhaps take a peek at Dana Winner's "A Moment In Time" (I've recommended it before, I'm sorry for the redundancy -- someone just mentioned her to me again the other day): th-cam.com/video/pDo4kvip-cQ/w-d-xo.html Cheers from sweltering NYC! (Yay, your channel is growing!!!)
another beautiful example of why language need not be understood in order to understand the music. when one sings from their true heart & soul & with every last bit of passion they possess, the language it's delivered in becomes negligible. i actually prefer listening to songs such as this without subtitles, as they are nothing more than awkwardly phrased interpretations of words my heart already understands. ❤️

Yup. Mind blown when I first saw that. 🤯 The techniques, the passion. Truly was one of the best performances I've ever seen. Great reaction too! 👍

@@ellieb8687 Yes! He is so diverse, it is hard to narrow down which ones to suggest. All of those are fantastic, too.
Yes, please check out Hua Chenyu, he is very talented. My favorite from him is Child.
@@deborahcox3011 That's my favorite, too. Full body goosebumps the whole thing.

A National treasure to old-world China.

So well said. Thank you for your comment. Lovely to hear from your artistic and beautiful heart!💖
Have you listened to Hua Chenyu? Please do. Nunchucks with English subs. Fake Mink with his intro and English subs.
I don't know the mechanics of that technique but it sounds.. painful?
