    Lanternlight is breathtakingly gorgeous ❣️
Not able to listen to this with dry eyes, it goes straight to your soul. It’s so fragile and strong at the same time.
What a gorgeous piece of music composed by Tuomas and so emotionally sung by Floor.
Tuomas said that Lanternlight is a song of love to celebrate live of the people that passed. In this case mainly his dad.

The part of the song that makes me actually teary:
"I'm in the light and flood
    I'm in the four winds
I am the waves shaping pebbles flawless gems
I am the snow on your palm"
The way its sung, the melody, the music, just hits me every time I listen to it.

This is another Tuomas Holopainen masterpiece. He only keeps on getting better as his talent and vision matures. Absolutely stunning. This composition is as deep as the Marianas Trench and has more layers than a baklava.
I'm 73 and I am the last man standing in my family. I understand the loss, yet I still live with hope and intent. Nevertheless, Floor's voice and this composition is akin to an emotional depth charge to the heart. Her face, good Lord, her beautiful face so expressive and adorned with nothing save her heart and soul just melts me to my core. Some of you get it. Some of you don't. I do, and that's all that matters. Kiitos to all of you in Nightwish for delivering such epic and emotional story telling.

much love for Nightwish and this new album of theirs so much variety and so many layers no one quite does progressive metal with sounds and colors of a symphony Floor's voice and the piano that Tuomas is playing nice and soft like a pillow and of the 12 tracks the 4 singles are doing quite well and this band makes quite intellectually stimulating music and this new album is absolutely stunning compositional work

This song is written by Tuomas, as a ode to hes Father that passed away in 2021, Floor sings absolute beautiful on this, and Troy joining at end, perfect!! I lost my Father 6 years ago, and my mother 5 years ago, listening to this, will bring me memories of them, and a song of sadness, beauty and hope at same time, its a song i would consider a masterpiece, love it!!
This was the first song Tuomas wrote for the new album Yesterwynde
Tryed to rank the album songs, i think its a pure masterpiece!!
i listened to the album several times by now, and i have to say,to the critics of the mix, the mix is perfect!! instead of just getting Floor, its a wall of sound, that is very much a part of creating the grand journey and atmosphere on this album.
    Yesterwynde - 8,8/10
    A ocean of strange islands - 10/10
    The Antikythera mecanism - 9/10
    The day off.. - 9/10
Perfume of the timeless - 9,5/10
    Sway - 9/10
The children of Ata - 9,5/10
Something whispered follow me - 8,8/10
    Spider silk - 8,8/10
    Hiraeth - 9,5/10
    The weave - 9,2/10
    Lanternlight - 10/10
    Album rank: 9,3/10
My description of this album could be this, a wall of sounds, that takes you on a journey, and songs that take you in directions you cant predict, in a good way, also very diffrent vibes in the diffrent songs, after listeng to the album several times it did grow on me, and i feel the album gives a diffrent vibe listening to it from start to finish, then when i just listened to the singles, love the album by now its a masterpiece, Tuomas is just a genius, Floor is breathtaking, Troy is a hoyful spice, and the rest of the band just amazing.!!

Being an emotional person, this song makes me cry just from the first chord. The first time I heard this song was at an official listening party on Sept. 19th (they had several across the U.S.), and it took all of my willpower to not start sobbing in the middle of the record store. I managed to mostly hold it in, but when I listened to it on headphones later, the waterworks flowed freely. Such a beautiful song, definitely my favorite track on the album. One of the songs that will make me cry every time I hear it. ❤

Tuomas writes these themes so, that we can all find our experiences of, like in this case for example loss and remembrance from his music and story. When I hear this song, I remember my own father. Happy-sad and hopeful, a love song in it's truest meaning.

      @ecbftl หลายเดือนก่อน +8

Floor talks about this in the Charismatic Voice interview. Tuomas was amazed that it took less than the 2 weeks he expected. He said it only took Floor 6 days to nail the vocals for each album song in the studio they set up at her home since she could not travel. She had been practicing the songs before Lucy was born, so that helped a lot.

She drills a hole straight to my heart, fills the hole up with a huge data cable, and pumps emotions into it by direct ignition. It's what she does. The reason: she absolutely is the best singer on this planet, but besides of that her performance, stage presence and sincerely are captivating. Especially her sincerety. No playing around here. She means what she brings. She is a sensitive sweetheart and it shows. Passed away loved ones.....doesn't that hits us all like a brick? Yes, indeed, she lets you feel human. Absolutely amazing woman. And Tuomas, sorry I did not mention you earlier. Incredibly how you composed this beauty of a song, so tailormade to Floor and Troy. You truly are very specially gifted people.

The Ship of Theseus comes to mind if the band has zero original members. In case of Nightwish, they still have original composer/keyboard player and the original guitarist.
I personally feel that the original composer is the most important part.
And the crazy part is that English is not even native language for Tuomas Holopainen but the lyrics are always worth reading with full focus.

FYI - the album is pronounced Yesterw-EYE-nd. The lyrics to this song are top-notch, so poignant, made even more powerful by the orchestration and Floor's amazing voice. Tuomas wrote this after his father passed away. In one of the making-of videos, he said the song is not a sad song but rather the celebration of the lives of our loved ones who have passed away. For many of us, these are perfect words to express how we feel.

Sorry I was very late to the livestream but it was special to watch it again and read the chat. Loved your reaction and all the beautiful thoughts that you shared. Love these livestreams when I can make it.
Final song from the final album of the trilogy. It feels to me like someone saying goodbye to family and friends as their life comes to the end. Loads of beautiful imagery in the lyrics of seeing the end, of reminding those we love that we will always be present, of lamenting the unfinished things we leave behind (as is always the case), and then walking "to the trees". Since Tuomas is famous for writing lyrics for multiple interpretations I could also see this song where the narrator is death personified, much like the way the lyrics in Music were. A third way I see it is that the lyrics aren't necessarily about a person but are instead a metaphor for humanity and our walk through the eons of our existence which would fit well with the themes of the album trilogy. A number of references to Auri and other Nightwish songs. "I am in the light and flood" and " I am in the four winds" IMO are shout outs to the Auri songs Light and Flood and The Name of the Wind, very beautiful instrumental that have a similar feel. For me the line "I am you who climbed off your back" gives me Decades in the Sun vibes and of course "To the meadows I go" is tapping into the same symbolism and meaning as Meadows of Heaven. Heartachingly beautiful song and a perfect bookend to the album and trilogy.
A beautiful tribute to Tuomas's father and all that are the lantern light for our journey through life. I agree with Tuomas, if we have lived a life of joy and meaning then we shouldn't be sad at the end but celebrate a life well lived. I think this song and Epica's Tides of Time will be the songs for my funeral when I pass.
I don't think you have heard any Auri on your channel yet. Side project of Tuomas, Troy and Tuomas's wife Johanna Kurkela. Beautiful atmospheric folky music. Very similar to Lanternlight. Some of my favorites are Desert Flower, The Space Between, and The Valley. I think they just finished recording their third Auri album and are planning a small Auri tour in 2025.

    So Beautiful. 🤍
I learnt from the chat that the vision seen was of
“Pope Leo & it’s the earliest and oldest film recording”. The first person ever filmed.
Then, did you hear the Gregorian Chant at the end of the song? (also included in The Greatest Show on Earth (the history of music section).
“Gregorian Chant - This style of chanting is not hampered by restrictions of time and measure, and that gives it the irresistible power it possesses over the feelings, as an eloquent discourse carries away the heart. Gregorian music undergoes no change; like Latin, the language of the Church, it is always and everywhere the same”.
Tuomas has spoken about having “no religion” but was born into a Catholic background - many Nightwish songs describe his journey through life, faith & religions.
Life, timelessness, petrichor, weave, evocative lyrics that interconnected elements throughout this album Yesterwynde.

Nightwish has band members from Wintersun and they are a symphonic metal band from Finland that uses viking folklore in their music the band members are jari founder of wintersun guitar vocals teemu guitar vocals jukka bass guitar vocals kai drums also know as the human drum machine for his amazing drumming skills. The song is intense and emotional beautifully composed by jari which he's a great composer of symphonic metal like thoumas of nightwish. So send me a reply back soon . Kiitos Wintersun Alex ❄️❤️

This is another side of Floor that is rarely heard and like everything else Floor sings, is done with such precision and love. I saw them live last year in Kitee Finland and it was so amazing to her sing while being nine months pregnant and sounding so well! That was at the end of the Human Nature tour and i couldnt wait when I heard Yesterwynde was coming out and so glad that every song stands on it's own merit and Lanternlight is such a heart wrenching peice of genius sonng writing and no one else could do this like Floor does it. There are somgs over the life of Nightwish that Tarja sang better, Anette put her stamp on but Floor just pulls you in and when she sings you feel as if she is singing to you and only you. I am also a life long Moody Blues fan so can understand why I love Nightwish so much, the symphonics, the vocals and always the professionalism of the artists.

Tuomas stated that while this may trick you into thinking it's a sad song, it's really a love song about celebrating someone who's lived a long and fulfilling life (instead of mourning them). Floor stated this one choked her up in rehearsals and during the recording. I don't know if he stated someone in particular was in mind, but I believe his father past and I know Floor's discussed her mom's on-going health battles, so I'm sure it was personal for both of them... not just a made-up storyline.

Definitely! Noora is one of the best metal voices ever...or female voices in general. It is unbelievable how good they are at live, and they have provided us all these amazing quality live streams from their gigs. I also loved their live rehearsals (Battle Beast RAW), where you can see a lot of their real personalities. They are so chill, and I really hope that I can meet them one day. My wife's sister works with them pretty frequently, so I might have a good chance (too bad that I live so far from them). The whole story how Noora came part of the band, after their original singer left them, is very fun story.

We all miss Marko but, he could not sing the Troy part. It just would not fit.
