I love all three of them. Big fan of the z4 platform. I have a manual 35i e89 and love it. Haven't driven it much yet because it's a harsh season. Everyone that sees it thinks it looks awesome! 🙂
Great video man! Got an sDrive35is myself for almost 4 years now, kept it stock besides new rims (437Ms) and a DCI from BMS. It's my daily driver and you're right, it does get rather annoying in the morning commute to work since it's so loud(!) and I'm as morning a person as the next guy. But as soon as you cruise on the highway with all the road noise, comfort is a great mode to stay in. The seats are comfortable as well and the leg room is amazing. That being said, it really roars and pops/crackles with the roof down on a empty highway road at home. I love the car (probably a little too much) and if given the chance (with the push of EVs by the government) I'd probably never let it go. And just like in the video, the car absolutely roars in tunnels. The smell of fuel is also something that's very relatable 😂😂😂
I own a fully loaded G29 m40i that has the power and tech that i require in a car a modern toy. A number of years ago i also owned a E85 2.5si nice enough car, but of its time. I can't understand why people seem to want to compare the designs of a car just because they share the name when there's almost 20 years of difference in technology as well as safety upgrades. Like comparing the original Iphone to a Iphone 15 🤷♂️
I quite like looking at the evolution of cars overtime, but I take your point. I was also considering getting a newer E89 but went for the G29 because of the reasons you mention.
I only see one roadster here. The E85 Z4. Lightweight, soft top and rawness in its drive. I agree the E89 is a ladies GT cruiser. The G29 is just too big, overweight and not that great looking.
G29 is a soft-top Supra. E89 is a ridiculously beautiful car. BMW just isn't the brand to go with if you want the uncomfortable roadster driving experience. The older ones - Z3 and E85 - there are just better options in the price range, and newer ones as well. And BMW really are money pits.
That E89 exhaust is not the factory one as firstly it has quad tailpipes (standard one has one each side) and secondly BMW didn't make it any where as near as loud as that! Mirror covers are also not standard.
Yes it’s not standard. But the 30i had twin exhausts on the left, the 35i and 35is had one tailpipe either side. If you have a good aftermarket exhaust it should sound great but never tiresome on the motorway.
@@joebloggs4191I'm considering buying an exhaust for my 23i e89, it's my daily so I'm just a little worried it's gonna be too much. It just lacks really just tiny bit more, stock
“Ladies car” welcome to 1960 😂 I’ve got the E86 with all the upgrades and I can’t bring myself to get rid of it even though I’ve only done a few hundred miles in the last few years. Wonderful motor.

I’m the same, I still think the E85 looks great all these years later.

Thanks for commenting. I love all of the ‘z’ cars. The 35is is a beast as well, it will only go up in value as EVs become the norm.
E89 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Looks fab. That spitfire was cool. Can’t wait to see the updates from your France trip, everything crossed Steve can join. His stories are epic 😂
Thanks for watching 😂
My original E85 stereo is in my trunk too.
