Luxury Glamping - 40th Birthday in the countryside
Hope you don’t mind me asking, but how much did the quote come in for the works you have planned? We are looking at doing something very similar ourselves in the new year. Thanks
Just watched your trip this afternoon. I must say Michael, for someone who keeps saying you’re not good at the TH-cam travel stuff, it’s the best travel video I’ve seen. Thanks for posting. Really enjoyed it.
Hasnt even got a roof yet getting the tape out for the tv 😅 what a legend!
You’ve got to get the important things sorted 😂. As you can see, I’m pretty useless at DIY but feel I need to get involved!
9:46 “never consult your wife when buying tvs” Proceeds to ask wife 😂
E89 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Great video
Thanks for watching!
I love all three of them. Big fan of the z4 platform. I have a manual 35i e89 and love it. Haven't driven it much yet because it's a harsh season. Everyone that sees it thinks it looks awesome! 🙂
I’m the same, I still think the E85 looks great all these years later.
What is the pick up for this 0 to 100km?
Good luck mate I’ll come have a look at some point
Can’t wait to see the build. 😊
Thanks for this vlog!
We visited Easter 24 and stayed in the hotel (Homewood suites by Hilton) behind you at the start of the video, in fact the room right behind you! I visited in 97 with my parents and remember Int Drive being a place to go and do things outside of the parks so when I took my own family I wanted to stay in the area so we could walk and do things. There's so much to do in the area and we felt safe day and night. We did the helicopter ride and found the cost to be decent considering what you're actually doing. They have different length flights at different costs. We did the 12 minute one which took us over Disney and back, well worth it. Shame you missed "The Pointe" complex just beyond the Walgreen's as there's a lot of restaurants down there and a cinema. Also lots more to do up the other way after the McDonalds. We will definately stay in Homewood suites again, great breakfast included and free parking if staying over 7 nights, one note though, even though clean and tidy it is a little dated but I Can overlook that due to location and breakfast etc.
Thanks for commenting. I considered adding The Pointe but it’s become quite a ghost town over the years, it has so much potential but many of the businesses left. I am going back in the summer and I’ll add some videos on other parts of Orlando that are less touristy, but still kind of cool things to do, especially on rest days between park visits.
@@michaeldoesstuffs We were there while it was spring break so probaly doesn't get much busier, found The Pointe to be busy but not until 8-9pm onwards. There's also Wonder works (the Upside down house) just past Walgreen's. We did an airboat ride At Wild Willy's on the east side shore Of Lake Tohopekaliga, St Cloud. Thoroughly recommend it, great guides who knew where to see the wildlife.
Wild Willy’s is great, especially if you visit at the right time of the year when the alligators are out. You’re right about Spring break being busy, as is May and June. I was hoping to visit in June next year but hotel prices are expensive, much cheaper towards the end of August so going then instead. Easter is great for the weather though, much less thunderstorms.
Thanks for breaking down all the costs. It's on my bucket list to do a European road trip, I will do one sometime in the future and it was helpful to have some idea of costs
No problems. Go for it, decide where you want to go and book the train, then you’re committed. That hardest part is booking all the hotels. Some people are happy to book them on the day as they travel but that adds extra stress and is often more expensive. If you have any other questions then let me know.
This is absolutely brilliant, great idea want to see more! 😂
Next time put the blinds on from the inside and use the window
That would make more sense!
I think I'd rather use my tent 😂😂😂😂. You pair have a great sense of humour.....👏👏
I know in the video I said I’d rather stay in a Premier Inn, but on reflection I do think sleeping in a Tesla is better than sleeping in a tent, I think I’m just not much of a camper!
A 12V electric blanket could help keep the bed warm without pumping the aircon too much.
That’s a good idea. When in camp mode the air con seems to run constantly, there didn’t seem to be an automated way of stopping/starting it.
Thanks for reviewing. Good job, you cover things I would want to know.
Way cool. I felt I was there with you. Great place to review too.
Thanks, that’s one of my early videos. In hindsight it was probably a bit long in parts!
Thank you. Helps with my future purchase. Good explanations. Keep doing this.
On reflection it is better than sleeping in a tent!!
There’s a filter on the washer pump itself that blocks with sludge
I'm amazed the blockage appeared to be between the tank and the tube join coupling. I would have thought the most likely point for the blockage would be at the actual jet's themselves , that's always been my experience anyway.
I watched a few other videos that covered older bmw’s and many said it’s related to sludge that gathers in the bottom of the tank. From reading articles it seems that they recommend using bmw approved screenwash, which is expensive.
@michaeldoesstuffs . Interesting.....I guess the BMW screenwash must have anti bacterial ingredients as i can't see sludge being anything other than bacteria breeding....I'll check what my halford's stuff says tomorrow.
You vlog very well. Keep going!!
Brilliant, thanks!
great video brother , so much information you have shared
Thanks!
Staying here right now, and I’m blown away at the quality of experience. The spa massage is highly recommended. Definitely recommended.
Fantastic. The views were my highlight, especially in the breakfast room.
It would have been even nicer with some clips of your Z4 on the road filmed from the other car as well. Nice trip!
Thanks, yes agree that would be better. I was recording from my phone and needed it for CarPlay so couldn’t give it to the other car. I would then need to get recordings from the other cars phones and it seemed like a faff so left it.
@@michaeldoesstuffs maybe next time! I also drive a G29 Z4, but I love to see in on the road -on the move- because I always see it from inside haha. It's a rare car, you don't get to see many out there!
Most French people go on holidays in August or July for a few weeks and cities in the interior of the country tend to get a little empty during that time, Meanwhile beach areas and resort destinations gets unbearably busy. To enjoy visiting France, a late spring or early fall trip are recommended, unless you're going to the coasts (Atlantic or Mediterranean).
Thanks, I actually quite liked that they were empty, less traffic and more peaceful!
Epic! 💯
Thanks!
Silver is the best
Great video....really enjoyed that! And great camera work too! Well done lads !
Thanks, To be honest I didn’t expect anyone to watch the longer video! I will let my son know that you appreciated his camera work, I just talk and somehow he manages to capture it 😀
I just bought a black one last month. Love the car, only tell me how you clean that rear window 😅. Like the aggressive front look of it, boot space is amazing.. electric golf trolley and bag fit in nice 👍 keep your reviews coming 👍 finding accessories difficult to find, fancy a boot mat and the new Z4 rubber mats for winter but silly price from Latvia 🤷🏻♂️ not UK
Cool, glad you’ve got one. I still love mine! There are other videos on my channel where we did a roadtrip over the summer so go and check those out. I’m always amazed at the size of the boot given it’s a roadster, it makes it easy to use as a daily driver. As for cleaning the back window, I’ve not attempted it but I’ve seen some comments online where people say they take the roof part way down which then allows them to access/clean the rear window.
Ye, watched your road trip, a lot of driving and the car certainly ran well apart from dings to your wheels. I’m just outside Edinburgh and have some great long stretches of country roads which I’ve been out on to check how the car handles. My 1st BMW, few Mercs, RS and Lexus’s, was after a Boxster 718 but still little pricey and when the Mrs was getting new Lexus this had been traded in, had a test drive and Sold 😂. NC500 on the cards now 👍
Start your own channel, you’d have more content than me with all those cars and roads!
Does the engine have port injection with gdi, or gdi only?
No idea, maybe someone else knows? This is what AI tells me - ‘The BMW Z4 (G29) uses gasoline direct injection (GDI)’
YOUR mid life crisis? You’re hardly out of nappies laddie.
Z4,Z5,Z6
cool !
Thanks!
Always stay at helios when i go to benidorm and yes the pool is heated
Too much product used in every application but especially the ceramic spray....to be honest if you have used the super resin polish,i wouldnt add the ceramic on top....if you top up the super resin with autoglym ectra gloss sealant, you get a better result 👍👍
Thanks for the feedback. An employee from autoglym commented something similar!
I'm going to say this gently - you come across as a bit of a depressing bell end.
😂 thanks. I was miserable all week on this trip, after a 24 hour flight, a week of work and no sleep I really couldn’t face another 24 hour flight and just wanted to be home.
@@michaeldoesstuffs Apologies. I just found the review of how many people were in the designer stores a bit odd, along with the repeated suggestion the terminal was somehow small or old. I'll tell you, I'd take Sydney over T5 Heathrow any day - there's actually space to sit down and exist in Sydney. :-)
Yes, I like an airport where I can sit and find somewhere quiet. I just don’t get the necessity for having empty designer shops, they could be used for much cooler stuff that’s open to more people. I’m also new to TH-cam, and since the Australia trip I’ve realised that people prefer positivity which I get because I prefer it as well! Have a great day!
one bucket method ... oh my goodness. Was this the first time you ever washed a car? I hope people dont follow what you have done. You're using a dirt blaster nozzle ... God help your paintwork. It's clear to me that you haven't a scoobydoo. I hope people ignore what they have seen. A 'drill' to machine polish a car .... really? The worst video I've ever seen.
What year model is that?
It’s a 2020. The model was released in 2019.
Honestly curious what made you want to do a road trip in the z4? I´ve got a g29 z4 20i (looks like exactly the same spec u got, red exterior, black vernasca interior) here in spain and after 1-2 hours of driving it on the highway im both fatigued and bored. Love it for short trips around town or to pop into the nearby city as you can have a ton of fun on local roads, low speed, traction off etc. but its really not great for long highway trips, doesnt have lane keep or any of the tech its sibling 3,4 series gets, seating position is too low and not enough space behind you to get really comfortable.
I agree that it’s not as comfortable as my other car, and I was a bit concerned before setting off but I actually got used to it and it was fine in the end. The trip wasn’t just about the cars, we went for the adventure and to see lots of different places, there’s not many trips you can do where you see countryside, mountains and palm trees in the same day.
My G29 M40i UK spec hasn’t got full lane assist (although it will gently tug at the steering wheel if i wander across a white line without indication). If does not have adapted cruise control or warn you if a car is in your blind spot (which can be quite big on the Z4). I bought my 1919 Z4 used, and trying to get one with the 'Driving Assistant package’ which I think added all these features, was impossible. Having said all of that, I have driven 100s of miles in my Z4 and found it really comfortable - much more so than my previous cars (TT, Z4 35is, MX5, SLK 55, Boxter etc). The only convertable that was more comfortable was my Jaguar XKR, but it drank petrol and was very unreliable. As for the Driving Assistant package, I miss it on long motorway trips, but I try to avoid these as it’s so much more fun on the twisty roads!
@@grjlynchwithout a doubt the new gen is 10x more comfortable than the e89 gen. I find the driving position to be a bit uncomfortable for longer drives and also the fact that brakes and steering are quite sensitive which can take a toll on u on long drives. Adaptive cruise control would def help, although tbh I’ve never had an issue with the blindspot on the z4 (you’re low enough to the ground that you can pretty much see everything out the mirrors
Great journey, I enjoyed watching it. And after watching all episodes I got used to your accent as well 😅 (saying that as a German listener). Both Z4s are great anyway, I am glad to have one myself.
Thanks for watching, it was a good trip. I work with several German speakers, they’ve also got used to my accent 😀. Enjoy the Z!
Room 208 Tour 3:55
Now I know why the signs are upside down, good on the farmers.....no farmers .....no food .
Agree! Unless you live in Britain where we are paying farmers not to grow crops and are having to import it, madness.
Does the Z4 have adaptive cruise control as standard or is it part of a "pack" ?
I think it depends what model you get. On the 20i you need the comfort pack but I think it’s standard on the 30i and M40. Worth checking though as it probably changes all the time.
I Thank You for your video ❤
I’m pleased it was useful. Thanks for the appreciation
We need to see more of Steve😂
This was a really good road trip, we loved Steve😂 brilliant trip!
Just bought an M40i in Glacier Silver. After a few mods on it I can say it is the best car i've ever had in my life. (And i owned an E46 M3 and a 997 Carrera S before)
Nice, I think the M40i will be next. The E46 is one of my all time favorites though, what a car
