The manual ones usually were beat up with several owners and little maintenance history in my experience. Either way still a great platform and I love taking it out to the beach or canyons. The car is pretty slow for modern sports car standards so it was more about the driving experience and handling rather than speed and acceleration. Regardless it's still quick AF cause it's so small and the tires screech when you peel away. Plus you can turn traction control off and do donuts and whatnot. Just make a mental note when you have the shelf up or down (obviously it cannot go up if the roof is already down and in place) or if you do drop the roof when the shelf is up you'll know soon enough as it won't fit.
Possibly check out a video of servicing or conditioning the roof motor ?🧐
I love the colour; I recently bought a Grey one.
Could you figure out the wind noise issue? The glass was not going up all the way. I have the same problem.
Hello Nathan. Congrads on your new purchase of the BMW Z4 ;)
@@silversleeper484 Thank you very much! Hopefully it goes down well! 😆
@@NathanMannin Dude I am also looking at getting a Convertable for my next car also. so I am considering the Corvette Z06, because the prices are tanking and when the ZR1 goes on sale they will drop even more. I had the Jaguar F Type SVR on my short list, but not real sure about the cost of service/reliabilty and such.
@@silversleeper484 I mean both avenues are V8’s which are a cracking start! Which generation Corvette were you looking at? I personally love the C5 & C6! Without driving any of them, I’d probably still go for the F Type SVR for it’s look externally, and internally!
@@NathanMannin Oh I forgot to say that LOL it will be the 2023/2024 C8 Z06. 😁😁😁
@@silversleeper484 I’m not too familiar with those, their design language is closer to an F-Type than its predecessors. My opinion is subjective, but I’d say the F-Type is much prettier/classier car. I’d test drive both and see what your verdict is 😁
The top motor is in the left rear fender, I posted a response but didn't finish watching, I would check the connection under the tape which looks a bit dodgy...
@@Sailing.Poor.Richard Thank you! Which connection under the tape were you referring to?
@@NathanMannin The connections on the convertible top motor. I have yet to mount mine, it's just sitting in the 'trunk' or boot currently...but it's happy!
Hi Nathan nice car!
@@NeilCane Thank you Neil!
Great video. I have owned a Z4 2.2 for 3years and now have a 2004 Z4 30.I for the last 4 years and it has been a great car and running costs have been low for a 3 litre and a trip to Castle Combe race track resulted in 44 mpg for the 80 mile run to get there and 18 mpg on track where the car achieved an indicated 120 mph down the longest straight. Big bonus is a rust free car that is 20 years old!
I'm Currently Looking To Purchase a 2006-08 B.M.W. Z4 3.0i or Si, Preferably With a Manual Transmission But All The Ones I've Searched For In My Area (Southeastern United States) Are Automatics Unfortunately.
Has to be manual, keep holding and your faith will be rewarded!
I had the same issue and ended up going for the auto 2.5i. As a daily I think it was a better choice for traffic and maintenance. Love the car, best starter sports car imo. Make sure you get one with the roof motor relocated tho. Goodluck!
Sounds like your roof needs a exorcist
@@Birmingham_racing 😆
Got a 3.0i manual since 6 months. It is great fun.
Great to hear from another owner! Have you done any modifications or had any problems?
