Born and raised in Port Morris NJ I proudly own the headlight off of steam engine #1116 from the port Morris New Jersey yard. The Erie Lackawanna 462 was a passenger train built in 1922... Thought about donating my headlight to this place but from what I can see they have plenty and certainly don't need my headlight. I also thought about donating it to the hopatcong historical society but I just don't think they financially have it together any longer and afraid of the light going to the wrong hands. I live in Florida and the light is with me but I would like to see it go back to its rightful area where it came from so all can see. Where would be the right place for this headlight? I'm always open for suggestions. It certainly is a piece of history and almost in perfect condition after so many years in use.
we want there last year and we were amazed how big the big boy actually is up close
I might go there some day
