Fabulous history. My late Father would have loved this. He collected Steam Engines. I remember I bought him The Flying Scotsman, a famous Steam engine, for his collection, among others. He had the track also. Takes me back to fond memories. Thanks JP. 💕🌹💕
I loved this video. I am a huge history nerd & am so happy to see such a significant part of american history preserved. I don't want to drive the train i want to ride in the caboose. As a little girl my great aunt & uncle had a farm. The rail tracks ran alongside the property. My siblings cousins & myself used to stand in the yard & wave at the guys in the caboose. Thank you for reminding me of something i hadn't thought of in a very long time. How did miss Lili do on her first day of middle school. I hope she enjoyed it.
Another great video. It was a beautiful weekend for Railfest and was great to see you guys!! Thanks for the shout out and glad you enjoyed your meal on the dining car and made yourself at home on the circus car! One thing I have never done at Steamtown is walk through the underground tunnel beneath the admin building.
Awe Jay, what an awesome video!!! My Daddy worked on the B&O and The Riley out of Union Terminal in Cincinnati. He was a car knocker. My Grandpa ran the round house and my Uncles and Great Uncles all worked on the RR. This video gave me a lump in my throat but just because made me think of Pops and Gramps. Plus I recognized a lot of the train engine parts from being around them and listening to all their wild stories. Thank you for a great video and bringing back some amazing memories. Be Safe and God Bless!!! 😇⭐🚂🇺🇸
I really enjoyed this version of your Steamtown video. I especially liked the behind the scenes operation. Your pics at the end were hilarious and very entertaining. That's amazing the video picture from the tiny Polaroid camera. As usual you did a very interesting video.
Enjoyed seeing RJ and Sparky sharing this fun day with you. Love the trains.....especially like the footage taken with the Polaroid cube camera ..it is a great little camera . Thank you for sharing a piece of history I will never be able to see in person.
Well JP you did it again another great videos and it just hit me that you are leaving Lily a legacy of her fathers work and Pa history. She will cherish it forever in her life. Aloha
The trolley reminded me of my great uncle who was a trolley conductor in New Orleans ...he was a character ..We visited when he was quite old ...his job , then , was to sit on a park bench and keep a record of the trolleys and if they were on schedule ..he really loved New Orleans and its music .
This was an excellent production on a topic that I love ..... TRAINS! 🚆 So much to see and do at Steamtown .... I'll get there ... maybe next year. Fun ending to this video 😁 👍
Jay, What can I say, you did a great job of video and still photography and really captured this great event and place.. The day was excellent, not too hot because of the clouds. I wish I were still in the East to, never saw this but your the next best thing. Cheers, Rik Spector
That place is very fascinating! Love trains! Always wanted a huge room with a model train and all the fun things that goes with them! I would love to take a trip on a train someday!
Loved the footage from the camera mounted to that train! Made me feel like Tess Trueheart tied to the front of the train...waiting for Dudley Doright of the Mounties to come and rescue me! 🙀🚂 🧨🇨🇦 👏 ❤️
I had the pleasure of going to Steamtown when I lived in N.Y. about 20 years ago. They really added a lot more. Great video and pictures JP ! If you want to go on a great train ride go on the Durango/Silverton train in Colorado.
Hey J - I have watched this video 5 times already - I am in steamtrain heaven! This video is amazing - you covered not only the steamtrains but the model railroad exhibits also - the trolley 🚎 reminded me of San Francisco some years ago 😁 It was neat seeing what the engineer sees when the train is moving forward - I felt like I was on the train 🚂👍 All in all a fantastic video - cute when you tried to buy a ticket from a fake ticket master 😂 I enjoyed this gr
Oh I really enjoyed this video! I love anything with trains! When i was little my dad worked for a train company called Fruit Growers Express, was in Fla. I've slept on a train too, that was really neat, your video brought back alot of fun memories! I will also watch past videos of these too. What an awesome event!! Really cool to see Sparky out there visiting you guys too before the world fell apart. Hoping they'll get back to holding this event next year as I'll definitely come. RJ told me to check this video out after I recovered my old footage of #3254 running. Really sad to hear it will never run again. I'm so glad I got video of it running while I could, and it's cool that you got a cab tour of it. The speeder looked like a lot of fun too!
😍😍😍 Thank you for these vids. Many great memories there. My family and live in the Poconos now. My beloved Pennsylvania I love her. Keep Pennsylvania great. The young man giving the In cab tour is a friend of mine. Mr. Mason a wonderful young man.
I see a lot of changes and new buildings since i was there in 2000. I have to replay my video to check some of the changes. I thought I saw a Big Boy, but you didnt get close enough. 4-8-8-4 Only a few were built and only one runs today. They had one in front. as you approached the entrance. You got a couple of nice photo run-bys with full smoke and whistle. Good job!
I like trains......there's even a song by that name....my Dad was a traffic manager for Colgate Palmolive in NYC. We had a book of train tables at home. Great video, interesting.
Something about a train whistle. I never thought about that it was the steam making the whistle noise, kinda like a tea kettle, right? They were are all interesting but #759 was pretty amazing. Again, thank you for your time in covering and sharing this with us. Very cool event.
My husband has HO gauge setup in our basement ..he really loves trains ...as a truck driver his CB name was "Night train " ..He would love this place ..

Loved the video. Never heard of this place before. Hopefully my son & I can go next year. Interesting to see the inside of the circus cabin. We like the look of the diesel trains more, but the whistle on the steam train sounds better :)

Hi JP. I'd like to operate (759) just because it's really HUGE!! ☺️ and it's the only number I could remember 😅😂🤣.
Lol good choice
Did you know the steam generator car there is a converted New York central Hudson tender? The engine was 5313
Yeah I can see it to the left at 42:56
Did they give any update on the Canadian locos or Lackawanna 565? Is 663 F non operational now?
Jeez looks like the 4014 has deteriorated alot since when my last visit was in 2012
Bids are out for a contractor to paint her sometime soon.
Nickel Rate Road would be a good name for a band.
Who owns the yard that the museum is on, is that Reading and Northern or Delaware Lackawanna?
I was at Steamtown at rail fest
15:13 IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
