Now that Big Boy is restored it looks really incredible 🚂. I would really love ❤️ to see it full operational out on the railroad tracks 🛤 some day in a good way of course.
Yeah and I think one operational big boy is enough 4014 was in the best condition out of all the 8 surviving big boys there were. If someone tried to restore another big boy I bet it will be 4023
I look for #4012 to be fully operating under it's own steam before too long pulling excursion trains, I think it'll happen in the not too distant future
Wikipedia will tell us that Steamtown's people say that this locomotive is in such good shape, that it could easily be restored to running condition........but ''experts'' say that 4012 should stay right where it is because there are concerns that trackage, switches, bridges, and other infrastructure in the area would not be able to handle its weight........................yet they brought it here........sooooooo, seems like it made it onto the property just fine before. I wonder if Union Pacific had any say in what happens to its Loco when it was donated.
Big Boy 4004 (4012 and 4014's sibling engine) for a while looked even worse out in Cheyenne, WY. The city put it on display in a park after the steam era, and let it fall into miserable condition for a number of years (the number boards appeared to be missing, the engine was poorly painted, and parts in the cab were either damaged or went missing over time). FINALLY in the 2010s they started repairing it and around the time 4014 came back to operation in 2019, 4004 was given a full cosmetic restoration. It looks 3x better now from photos I've seen.
Anything looks good with a fresh coat of paint but restoring 4012 to operate again welllll ummmm???? I heard a rumor that 4018 was going to be restored to full operation for a movie, waiting waiting & still waiting. Long live 4014. Even 4012 got a lick of paint recently.

Awesome! It was in very bad condition I have to say. Glad they restored it! There is a 50/50 chance it will return fully operational.
It will never be operational.

@@anthonynigri4058 4023 is one that has no chance. 4012 is in good condition even before cosmetic restoration work began on it.
@@northpennvalleysteamrailroad If you really think 4012 will be operational than I think it will be moved to operate somewhere in the midwest
@@anthonynigri4058 No. It’s permanent property of steamtown and I don’t think they are going to let go of it.
I don’t call it fully restored if it’s not able to move and operate under its own power, all I see here is a lovely paint job
looks 100% better

I saw that engine many years ago missing some of it's valve gear and rods.

Great to see that big boy 4012 has received a much needed cosmetic restoration job and repainting, it was looking really rusty prior to this.

Nice
I've seen this locomotive before
I love trains
Does anyone know where it was sent for this paint job?
Dr. Sheldon Cooper will be delighted to see this.
Will this come into excursion service????
There’s a 50/50 chance.
@@northpennvalleysteamrailroad ok bruhhh
@@northpennvalleysteamrailroad waiting for it's excursion 😋
It will never be operational. There is nowhere for it to run here. Curvature is way to tight on all the rails in PA for a locomotive this size.
@@ronstrulic4388 that’s not what most people say…
They should make a cartport so the steam locomotive don't get rusted
This is like Big Boy 4014 but was only running
00:48 girl UP 4014 is under steam that’s the best looking right now 😂
now UP 4006 needs to be restored
They all need to be restored honestly. We need BIG steam back in service
Выдающийся паровоз💥💥💥💯💯💯💢
We may have to put her back in Service with the way this administration is running things.
Most of the Big Boys are in good condition... Except 4006. Its owner has neglected it over the years
4004 looked really bad until recently.
Rare? There are actually 8 Big Boys still around
Dynamic breaking
I saw 4012
i stole the llight bulb from it when it was in VT lol

The second park range needs to open her mouth when talking. I could understand her
It sad the NPS is involved. Horrible stewards
steamtown is a junk yard.
Nice
