- Northern Turkey is magical. Just an hour's drive can take you from The town on the Black sea coast to the Turkish highlands which are a place of hidden beauty and mystery. This time we drive inland from a beautiful Kaptanpaşa village near Rize and discover some of the most amazing landscapes that we have ever seen.
We have been in Turkey for three months now, living the van life.
Our journey here is documented in a travel vlog format.
New videos are out every Monday and Thursday evening.

We are a van life couple Jo and Miina, quite new to TH-cam but really excited to be a part of this community. We are about living small and sustainable in our home on wheels. This journey was absolutely an astounding one!! We enjoyed (almost) every minute of it, just not the driving.. But the driving probably was necessary because it made the contrast between the horror of those bad roads and the unspeakable beauty of the mountaintop even bigger :)

The air and water of the Black Sea highlands are beautiful.
There are many people who spend the winter in the village and the summer in the highlands because of the cold.
There are also those who always stay in the highlands, it's personal preference, but our highlands are beautiful because their resources are natural and clean.

Ps: to joe and minna; i've never been to taurus mountains (right south of konya through antalya and mersin)
People say there are still nomadic turks roam at it with their goat and horse herds and it's still cool enough for icelanders (lol) in summer if you wanna check it another summer. Cheers

Plateaus do not know many tourists, but they are very beautiful places.. they should visit the highland houses in the black sea region and see the houses built on the hills

Oh we have many highlands in Black Sea Region. If the weather was not foggy, you could see the beauties of the plateau better. But it was still a great trip.

Guys please be really carefull on the road after the rain around the mountains and never take risk before the rain its ok my village is 2 km from the sea high.And dont worry about very rough weather around the mountains its soo variable can change exact opposite every hour or 30 mins maybe even 15 :D

Did you see the bear☺ every one person each ten meet a bear in highland. Blacksea Turks can not runaway from them mostly fights because of safe of their bees and gardens. Bur they also love bears like a dog you can watch Datvi and Cemal's frindship in youtube.

Oh wow, must say that it would be quite a story to be able to say that we met a bear in Turkey but of course, we promise to be careful and look out for each other :)
I used to go to see my grandparents when I was a child during holidays, and with local kids pick blueberries, raspberries, and black berries. It smelt like berries and tasted sweet and like a berry. Now, I buy from the supermarket and doesn't taste anything like berries but looks like berries 😞😞
